Bush government’s request was also proper, he is ensuring our citizens won’t be mistreated in foreign territory. However, it is only proper that he noted it is under the juriprudence of the state of Texas.

1. Immediately respond to the World Court with the statement that they will take their demand under advisement and give it the proper attention it deserves.

I’m not even an advocate of capital punishment (costs far more than life in prison, not any more of a deterrent–I do like offing scumbags though so I am torn sometimes) but I want these guys to be tossed into the next available gas chamber.

The UN has NO BUSINESS telling us what to do about ANYTHING. Crap like this is exactly why I want us to raze that useless building and throw everyone out. No more UN.

If Texas is ordered to submit to the will of some international court, superseding our own laws, then I will be joining my local chapter of “The Republic of Texas”, and take my place among the “crackpots”.

The USA and its government are two entirely different things.

Anyone standing against the USA, within or without, is an enemy and/or traitor, yet the same is not necessarily true for those standing against its government – sometimes these people are patriots.

We should always reserve the right to take up arms against our government should the need arise. Such action would be the most honorable defense of the USA.

the dirty little secret about upholding the 1963 Vienna Convention requires law enforcement to PROACTIVELY check the nationality of whomever they arrest in order to be in compliance with the treaty. In other words they would have to check everyones nationality in order to insure that they would be allowed to contact their respective authorities.

What would happen if cops started confirming the nationality of everyone they arrested?

When Barack is POTUS, THEN we shall all be subjects of the “World Community” including the world court, the UN and the EU! Won’t that be special…

Actually, Mc Cain is even worse. He wants to form an ADDITIONAL international body to which we would subordinate our sovereignty:

Are you saying that you are for killing an unborn baby but not for a convicted murderer/rapist?

I am Pro-Life too and I wan’t to protect ALL life, even that of criminal scum. (I’m anti-death penalty; at least until a poor guy can get the same kind of trial as a rich guy). God will take care of their punishment.

I hope that I am just misunderstanding what you meant.

They need to pack up their do-nothing back stabbing selves and beat feet to set up shop in another country more accommodating to their way of thinking with like aspirations for the world… like Darfur or Zimbabwe.

Execute the scum quickly to put an end to this farce.

Yep Blake, the comeback from the Bush haters when hit with the facts of Texas Death penalty law was that Bush was killing people. I would remind them that The Governor wasn’t the one killing anybody, and the hyperbole would continue with the inevitable questions about how Bush could be so callous and should just stop the executions in some grand sweeping of his mighty hand so to speak.

My response? “Ignorance of the law is no excuse”.

These people are applying laws of other states to Texas and are completely ignorant of Texas law.

Nuff said in that regard.

Years ago, I finally got so sick of listening to the ‘Killer Bush’ crap, I looked up the laws, read them, and contacted the Board of Pardons to get the facts as to the number of commutations under Bush. It is great fun to rub it in the faces of the euroweenies that the only case recommended to Bush was granted by him.

Take this ruling and shove it!

Interesting, but what would the current supremes say?

IF they are using the treaty clause to override the Constitution, and Texas became part of the US by treaty, and the treaty says that Texas can leave?

How does that train of logic work. Either the Constitution is NOT overriden by treaty, and thus Texas has no reason to leave…. or Treatys can overrride the Constitution, and Texas has the Treaty Right to leave…

Read the Declaration of Independence. We are not at that point yet but moving rapidly in that direction. The government completely ignores it’s citizens in favor of their own pocketbooks. The federal government is making power grabs and heading further into socialism. The Constitution and Declaration of Independence permits and even demands the government work for the people – not the other way around.
