The time we have awaited all election cycle long has arrived — the 2008 JibJab satire is here! As usual, the folks at JibJab take a decidedly non-partisan look at the election year follies as they utterly destroy Bob Dylan’s “The Times, They Are A-Changing”:

My favorite part is the unicorn. Classic.
Update: Via Malan, I’ve substituted the original for one with a familiar face for the voter. Er …. ouch.

McCain in the tank was my favorite but the whole thing was funny IMO.
Yakko77 on July 16, 2008 at 10:17 AM
Obama riding a silky pony.
Priceless.
fogw on July 16, 2008 at 10:19 AM
LOL, they got everybody accurately. And I liked the ending line. We’re always screwed in the rear.
mram on July 16, 2008 at 10:21 AM
I liked the headline “Increase Your Manhood”.
They’ll say anything…
kirkill on July 16, 2008 at 10:21 AM
“Increase your Manhood!”
haha
carbon_footprint on July 16, 2008 at 10:23 AM
Love it when the tank runs over Obama.
pullingmyhairout on July 16, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Oh, and I think they improved on Bob Dylan. Anytime someone other than Bob sings, it’s an improvement.
kirkill on July 16, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Notice they’ve morphed McCain’s face with Cheney’s in several frames.
Griz on July 16, 2008 at 10:25 AM
I thought we weren’t allowed to laugh at teh Obamateur™.
Martin on July 16, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Bravo!
JeffreyLloyd on July 16, 2008 at 10:26 AM
I can’t resist my knee-jerk pride to be an American. That was a great vid.
Dusty on July 16, 2008 at 10:31 AM
LOL. I’m not a huge fan of the JibJab videos, but this was hilarious.
malan89 on July 16, 2008 at 10:32 AM
This one is even more funnier – Rush Limbaugh & Jon Stewart on the same Page . Watch it & enjoy!
Anita on July 16, 2008 at 10:32 AM
No cigar.
lawl.
wise_man on July 16, 2008 at 10:36 AM
I almost fell off my chair laughing when Bubba Billy got it in the head with that frying pan!
pilamaye on July 16, 2008 at 10:36 AM
Freakin awesome. I watched it 3 times. This is pretty much the definition of objectivity.
jimmy the notable on July 16, 2008 at 10:36 AM
Wow, how amazing is that?
jimmy the notable on July 16, 2008 at 10:38 AM
About TDS clip: I cracked up when he said Wolf Blitzer’s name makes him sound, out of context, like a NeoNazi.
jimmy the notable on July 16, 2008 at 10:41 AM
I just noticed something. Look at the folks on the Straight Talk Express at around :26. The usual suspects–McCain’s most visible surrogates–Romney, Crist, Liebs, Mullet-Man Pawlenty, Tom Ridge, and the insufferable/crazy annoying Carly Fiorina. But Palin and Jindal are also there. I thought we were the only ones who even knew who these two were outside of their homestaters. Anybody else think this is weird? Or am I just “misunderestimating” the national recognition the two govs have?
malan89 on July 16, 2008 at 10:42 AM
Loved it! Nothing like a good ‘ol poke in the eye to wipe that know-it-all smirk off your face.
Limerick on July 16, 2008 at 10:44 AM
I would say Stewart stole it from Rush, but I highly doubt that anybody on Stewart’s staff actually listens to El Rushbo. I normally watch the first 15 minutes of the Daily Show. He’s actually pretty funny for a liberal political comedian. I actually like him, unlike folks like Behar and Maher.
malan89 on July 16, 2008 at 10:46 AM
Nice!
trailortrash on July 16, 2008 at 10:52 AM
Blitzer & Nazi – Stewart gets it.
Reasonable people come to the same conclusion as Rush. Stewart sometimes reasonable.
Anita on July 16, 2008 at 10:52 AM
Hey Ed, too bad you didn’t upload a pic of your face for the end and post that version. Would have been a nice surprise.
wise_man on July 16, 2008 at 10:54 AM
First the New Yorker and now JibJab. The overly sensitive chameleon must be going through a mental hell. Bless his heart.
volsense on July 16, 2008 at 10:56 AM
The guy they spun towards the end–was that O’R? As in “No Spin”?
jgapinoy on July 16, 2008 at 10:57 AM
I like his interviews alot of the time. McCain is at his best on that show. I would love to see Romney on there.
Squid Shark on July 16, 2008 at 11:07 AM
Heh. Here ya go. I was already doing it for some family members. It’s pretty easy.
BTW, there are a ton of pictures on the Google Images Search Page for “Ed Morrissey”. Odd, I didn’t expect more than one or two.
malan89 on July 16, 2008 at 11:08 AM
How long before Dylan sues (like the owners of This Land Is Your Land)? Or has there been some arrangement made for the use of his song?
Bigfoot on July 16, 2008 at 11:09 AM
It all depends on who the guest is. My favorite was when he interviewed Lynne Cheney. Soooooo awkward.
malan89 on July 16, 2008 at 11:10 AM
I don’t think song writers can sue over a parody. Weird Al would be out of business.
malan89 on July 16, 2008 at 11:11 AM
That was awesome! I love Jib Jab, they make an election year less painful.
Torch on July 16, 2008 at 11:11 AM
That probably didn’t make sense.
I meant to quote this comment:
malan89 on July 16, 2008 at 11:12 AM
Has the Obamassiah said he his offended by this yet?
pedestrian on July 16, 2008 at 11:14 AM
Am I crazy if I think it actually leaned a little pro-McCain?
That bit on Obama and “change change change” was pretty sharply on point – and pretty effective. It really illustrates just how completely empty his campaign is.
I suspect that’ll get through to a few Kool-Aid drinkers when nothing else will.

CLICK IT NAOUGHW!
You sure look different in that movie, Ed.

Loved it! My kids cracked up over the silky pony part.
StephC on July 16, 2008 at 11:23 AM
Speaking of which..
..Was thinking that myself, too.
Reaps on July 16, 2008 at 11:24 AM
Haha, that is so brilliant, I can’t stop watching it.
Aylios on July 16, 2008 at 11:24 AM
At the end of the animation they ask you to upload your own photo for that part of the video. It looked kinda similar to Bill O, but I think that it was just some random older irish guy.

“They promise you everything you want to hear, then they spin you around and poke you in the rear . . .”
So sad . . . because it’s so true.
It’s just another distraction that doesn’t help Michelle’s kids.
AZCoyote on July 16, 2008 at 11:49 AM
Does that “increase your manhood” paper have a picture of Al Gore on it?
Vanceone on July 16, 2008 at 12:09 PM
Jib Jab a dabba doo. If they joined forces with Robot Chicken, we’d all be dead from laffin’.
Embedded subtext:Obama is gayer than Hawaiian Pizza, not that there’s anything wrong with that. McCain is older than the Ozarks, not that there’s anything wrong with Branson.
Funnelcake, anyone?
Doug on July 16, 2008 at 12:34 PM
That sure didn’t help put earrings on Michelle Obama’s children.
Chuck Schick on July 16, 2008 at 1:25 PM
But…but…there’s nothing funny about Obama! There’s no comedic material there, right?
aero on July 16, 2008 at 1:40 PM
I like the part of Hillary hitting Bill. LOL LOL
BroncosRock on July 16, 2008 at 2:21 PM
hehe.. >:D
Chakra Hammer on July 16, 2008 at 2:21 PM
The part with Hillary and commie looking signs as pretty funny.
Chakra Hammer on July 16, 2008 at 2:22 PM
The frying pan to the head that Hill gave Bill was great, only the ponng counts.
Bill relaxing on the chaise lounge saying the equivalent of so sad, too bad.
Speakup on July 16, 2008 at 3:31 PM
This is offensive to Muslims.

It goes by so fast.
wise_man on July 16, 2008 at 6:06 PM
That was my favorite part. Obambi on the unicorn was also top-notch. Even my kids like it.
Too bad it has to last me until November… it’s the only thing worth watching election-wise right now.
