Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), Ambassador John Bolton joins us in the second half to discuss Iraq and the conflict in policies between John McCain and Barack Obama. We’ll also ask him about today’s events in Pakistan and whether McCain has the better comprehensive strategy in Afghanistan, and hopefully have enough time to talk about Korea. In the first half, Jim Geraghty joins us to review the campaign, especially the New Yorker cartoon and its aftermath.
Now you can join the conversation in the chat room! Be sure to register at Ustream to participate in our raucous live-chat sessions…
Update: Be sure to catch this show in its entirety. Ambassador Bolton was informed, on point, and gracious.
Opening animation from TG Studios.

Never can get enough of The ‘Stache.

Intelligence, integrity and common sense. What more can one ask for? I wish Bolton were running. He’d tear McShame and Husein to shreds. I don’t think he’d win, but he’d leave an intellectual bloodbath in his wake that might serve to wake this nation up.

I’ll be there, for sure. Mr. Bolton, one of the few people telling the truth today. He IS THE MAN!
abinitioadinfinitum on July 16, 2008 at 1:11 PM
So, why can’t we vote for Bolton for POTUS?
sabbott on July 16, 2008 at 1:14 PM
No kidding. Wait a minute … ‘STACHE in 2012! Dude. That would make for some awesome campaign swag.
Imagine it – campaign logo would be some cool shapes with just the MIGHTY ‘STACHE. Killer.
Developing…

All bow before The ‘Stache!
Viewtifulgare on July 16, 2008 at 1:27 PM
What are you talking about? I would do the broken glass crawl to vote for John Bolton.
RushBaby on July 16, 2008 at 1:28 PM
My bad…my brain was saying supreme court.

If McCain promised (for whatever that’s worth) that Bolton would be his SecState and would have power in policy-making, or the first SCOTUS nominee with full White House backing, my opinion of McCain would go up immeasurably.
progressoverpeace on July 16, 2008 at 1:42 PM
I don’t know if Bolton would even accept a SCOTUS nomination (though I would have faith in his reasoning if he got it), but any position of power that Bolton felt himself qualified for would make me feel better to see him in.

McCain will (he has to!) have Bolton in his administration.
jgapinoy on July 16, 2008 at 1:46 PM
Bolton is great, speaks the truth to power, that’s why libs hate him.
I despise the current congressional leaders, we need leaders like Bolton.

Although the MKH pic is my fav, the Stache is a close second. Can’t wait to listen in.

When President McCain forms the League of Democracies, I nominate John Bolton as its first secretary-general!
rockmom on July 16, 2008 at 2:49 PM
I don’t know it’s his hair or what, but I had the impression old John has a big head. Your massive screencap magnifies that impression!
jgapinoy on July 16, 2008 at 2:51 PM
BOLTON FOR PRES!
Speakup on July 16, 2008 at 3:37 PM
Ed, you can still put MKH’s picture up, even if she’s not going to be on the show.

Put AP on–with a hood like Mexican wrestlers wear.

Is there a link for an MP3 download? Those things make my hour commute that much better.

The Taliban was largely a creation of the ISI. The ISI helped the Taliban take over Afghanistan (i.e., win the civil war). It’s all spelled out in Ghost Wars the book the 9/11 commission called definitive.
