Sen. McCain, this is really quite simple.

1. Nominate Palin for VP
2. Let her make the case for ANWR
3. Secure the border
4. Win Presidency

5. retire after first term and make way for Pres. Palin.

We have 2 refineries up here, but they make fuel oil and diesel. We have the gasoline shipped in. As of today, in Anchorage when I drove by a Chevron, the prices rose last night to 4.46 a gallon. What I wouldn’t do for 1.50, or hell 2.33 a gallon.

Gov. Palin is very concerned about fuel prices. You see, fuel prices in Alaska are at least 25% higher there than in the continental U.S. I think they have all their fuel delivered by tankers. Alaska has lots of oil and possibly gas. They need the government and environmentalist’s off their case so they can develope their resources.

Also, as much as I agree with Palin on this issue and many others that I know her stance on, doesn’t she suffer from that same inexperience that we are so critical of Obama on?

Yes. Her whole term as governor hasn’t been what you would call a model of conservatism. From her major tax increase on the oil industry , free money giveaways, spending increases to her handling of AGIA (a gas pipeline proposal). No way is she ready for primetime.

The dirty little secret none of you idiot leftists seem to grasp is that the ONLY way out of “dependence” on fossil fuels is research and development.

R&D is very expensive, and is one of the very first things to get cut when money gets tight.

So we need wealth/capital, and not just a little of it. We need huge amounts of excess wealth. We need huge amounts of energy to create that wealth. Cheap energy. Plentiful energy.

We have to get that eeevil fossil fuel, as much and as fast as we can, if we want to have ANY long-term hope of ridding ourselves of “addiction” to fossil fuels.

To steal a line from the idiots on your side, We Can’t Conserve Our Way Out Of This.

Conservation spells eventual doom for humankind.

We built thousands of ships and tens of thousands of airplanes and won WWII in less than 5 years. Why does anyone think getting oil would take a long time? IF we can keep the enviros from taking everyone and their mother to court we should be able to get it pretty quickly. Probably could build a new refinery in under 3 years too without interference.
