You’ll see I’m 100% in favour of drilling up north, down south – anywhere the oil is, as long as it’s done responsibly without raping the ecosystem for all eternity. And obviously drilling isn’t the be all end all answer to America’s energy woes.

Drilling is the only available option to transportion cost. Just the mention of the lifting of the drilling band by president Bush has caused oil prices to come down.

My son’s six cylinder pickup gets almost thirty mpg. I think that you will find that most people in the U.S. conserve. It is economically beneficial to do so and I do not think that the U.S. has a monopoly on people who are wasteful.

A high school education is a bare bones set of knowledge. How come so many people still can’t find Iraq on the map? Conservation goes beyond driving. Most people don’t give a second thought to water use, electricity use, etc. They take it all for granted.

It’s not reality, Davey, although you yourself are a poster boy for ignorance, what with all the factually deficient statistics you pull out of your ass in a singularly unimpressive demonstration of your own intellectual abilities.

I can’t speak for the rest of the world but, contrary to your assertion that the majority of us are uninformed simpletons, 80% of Americans have at least a high school education. Surely the vast majority of Americans (even those who didn’t make it through high school!) have the tools to figure out that, say, if you drive less you’ll use less gas and save money.

The last thing we need are inspiring speeches from the Oval Office about energy conservation. We need action from our elected representatives, and that action must include drilling. The ball’s in Pelosi/Reid’s court, and the, er, smart money is on those who let us drill here and now, not those who suggest we wait for the wind.
