I think this is why the McCain campaign hasn’t gone after Obama. McCain doesn’t have a lot of cash and can’t afford to fire a salvo at the wrong target.

Talk about a good comedy! The stage is all set for Obama to accept the nomination with the 75,000 or so waiting for his great acceptance speech and the vote shows the nomination goes – - – to Hilary. I believe I’ve heard something Obama might need to take notice of: Never count your chickens before they hatch.

Unfortunately she will be much harder to beat in the general than Obama.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but if I wake up the morning after election day and it’s President elect barry things will be very bleak. If it’s hillary I won’t be nearly as worried. She ain’t retreating from Iraq, she’s got so much baggage that she ill have to be very careful who’s toes she steps on or every press confernce will be about scandals and if she is president she won’t be on the supreme court.

Unlike the Republican delegates, there is nothing (that I have seen) in the Democratic rules that states that pledged delegates HAVE to vote for their candidate even on the FIRST ballot. Just like the SD’s

(section J; someone with more ‘law’ experience could correct me on that if I’m wrong)

I have never doubted the Clinton’s ability to pull a rabbit out of a hat and I have never really believed that Hillary would not get the nomination. With all of Obama’s stumbles it looks much easier than before. Unfortunately she will be much harder to beat in the general than Obama. Now if the republicans could just find some way to nominate Thompson or Romney (instead of McCain) we could have a reasonable election instead of “who do I dislike worse?).

As for Hillary being placed in nomination at the convention, it might make for some interesting political fireworks, but what if she WINS?

This is all really fun, but aren’t we taking our eye off the ball here? As much fun as it would be to see this legend-in-his-own-mind get smacked down hard, I would much prefer it to be done by McCain in the general election, rather than by Hillary in Denver.

Guess what happens if Hillary knocks off Obama? She becomes the dreaded “comeback kid”, the most beloved of all the media, who will scurrying to atone for their sin of ever doubting her inevitability.

In that scenario, the only problem the Dems will have is how to blame Obama’s unravelling, and the riots, on the evil Republicans. With the eager help of the MSM, they will find a way.

Changing the votes of the super delegates would be very risky with respect to the black vote. For most democrats however, the black vote is not that important to win their districts (money and foot soldiers come from NARAL and the unions). However, if some of the influential constituencies (NARAL, NEA, MSM, MOVE-ON) begin shifting because of positions that Obama takes, the door might be opened for some fireworks. With Beckel, Begala, and Carvel on board, Hillary undoubtably has some surprises for the late innings.

There are so many contituencies to please in the Democrat party that it is like herding cats. There is the minority vote (black, hispanic, single moms), the money vote (Soros and Hollywood), the union vote, the gay/lesbian vote, the abortion vote, the welfare vote, and the BDS vote. Most of these overlap but NONE of them are enough to win the general election. With two substantial candidates in Hillary and Obama splitting loyalties, these groups can be appealed to in any number of ways to keep things interesting for the rest of us. As long as they remain split and fairly even (thank you Rush and Operation Chaos) it could be a good show with the good guys pulling it out in the end.
