A good photographer can’t invent beauty, but a bad one can hide it. Give the photographer some credit … that’s all I was trying to say.

As an old-timer on this board (but lately an infrequent poster), I remember the height of Kirsten Powers mania.

I didn’t get it. Kirsten was attractive, but a proudly partisian Democrat strategist / columnist / flack.

Back then, MKH was cross-linked occasionally for her written columns and early v-blogs. I tried to deflect the Kirsten-mania towards this attractive conservative woman by writing “the epitome of feminine perfection” after every mention of Mary Katharine. But the meme never took off.

Now you guys catch on…. Better late than never.

Sheesh.

As an amateur photographer, I’ve got to give whomever shot that picture of MKH a great deal of credit. Yes, Mary Katharine is pretty and has an amazing smile. But even supermodels can look bad if a photographer doesn’t know what he’s doing. What makes that photo work so well is the pose, her expression, and the color-balance between her hair, clothes, and photo background. Quite simply, it’s an awesome portrait.

We dated for a while, but the whole “tlynch, you’re handsome…um…AND SMART” got old after a while. I was like “Mary, I don’t work out everyday to be called ’smart’” and she was like, “I know, I know, you’re hot…and SMART. Of course, because smart is hot…”

I told her to go find a mathematician.

Not sure about this comment. Nobody ever calls her “Mary” more than once.

I would do things with her that would get me arrested or killed in Saudi Arabia. Like letting her drive a car and vote.

Yes, but at least I could listen in on BTR. Ustream usage means that I have no chance of listening in live and am stuck waiting until I get home. MUCH less enjoyable.

Whew, MKH is as hot as she is smart. And that’s hot.

You should’ve been around for the BlogTalkRadio days. No video, and still as many breakages in the live feed.

Can you work on your levels??? The audio is very distorted…just a thought…
