Probably, but you always have to throw in the mix that anything that the conservatives and the Republicans propose will be vilified…anything.
One of the mysteries of the left, even if it supports their policies, they will protest.
So you may be right, but they have the right to change their position at any time and take another tact.
They just think basically that the administration wants to “listen” to their communication…because that is what they want to do themselves, control our communications. They are convinced that FISA is spying on citizens…and they will be the targets.
Also, remember, most all left protests are driven and supported by Communists and Marxists. People like David Howowitz lived through this in his younger days, and describes the relationship between anarchists, protesters and the Communist and Marxist parties. So any attempt at monitoring outside anti-American groups, is a real threat.

Retiring Clinton’s campaign “debt” to Clinton herself, if it’s even a lawful use of contributions to Obama’s campaign, would put Clinton in a better financial position from which to renew her opposition to Obama. Nor would gratitude or the moral requirement of gratitude necessarily check her ambition. If the requirement of gratitude is an obstacle to ambition, it seems the obstacle produces anger, which then joins with ambition to overcome gratitude and its moral requirement. Beware the resentment of those who owe gratitude.

I went over to Daily Kos to see what they had to say about this and ended up reading why some Kosling thinks that FISA is the beginning of the fascist regime. I was completely underwhelmed by his, her or (insert gender-neutral pronoun here) argument. If Koslings had more imagination they could pretend that FISA was an obscure issue of 200 years ago and notice that what they had to say was not very important. But I started mulling over the possibilities and I made a guess at the underlying issue for the Koslings. Most of us who read HotAir think we are at war with the terrorists. The Koslings reject that characterization in favor of a law enforcement model. FISA makes it concrete that we are at war, and thus constitutes a rejection of the highest and holiest symbol of the Koslings "Peace". I believe this is the major reason for their anger which includes their insane attack on the telecom companies. Am I on the right track here?
