Well, if it makes sense for Obama to run against Bush (who by the way departs the oval office when the new president is seated), it makes even more sense for McCain to run against the Democratic Congress, and what they’ll do with Obama in power.

Let me add this from the play, the line introduces a segment where Adams is lamenting congressional ineptness he says, and I am misquoting as I am writing from memory “I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace; that two are called a law firm, and that three or more become a Congress! And by God, I have had this Congress. (my misquote begins) For 10 years King George and his Parlement have gulled, cullied and diddled these colonies and still this Congress refuses to even open debate. What in the Hell are they wating for.” This was followed by his fellow members in Congress all singing in unison “sit down John, Sit down John, for God’s sake John sit down”…

Sort of sounds like Congress on our energy policy when dealing with the President.

That Congress has this approval rating or that Americans will probably give them a larger majority come November?

Only reasonable explanation I could come up with as to why the number is not exactly 0.00%.

I am reminded of a comment by Dave Barry during the 1992 elections (where Ross Perot made a fairly substantial showing early on), something along the lines of “The Democrats, tired of always coming in second place, have finally figured out a way to come in third.”

I remember something similar from back then. Some talking head made the comment during the primaries that Bill Clinton had come in third in a two-man race. But yet, Bill went on to win. So it aint over until it’s over.

The GOP REALLY needs to do a better job “gently reminding” people that they aren’t the ones calling the shots anymore. I’d like to believe that they will do that come election time, but it’s never too early to start.

This Congress is an absolute abomination.

I wonder what proportion of the Americans know that the Democrats have majorities in both houses of their Congress. Has anyone seen poll results on this question?

The public isn’t stupid they know it and they elected the Dems to end the war.

The GOP will end up paying for this.

The GOP minority and the conservative Dems have been the obstructionists rallying behind a President that 85% of the country doesn’t approve of.

But we will be blamed for it, not the Dems, just wait.
