McCain, however, NEEDS the momentum and direction that VP Palin would give to his stagnating campaign, though Romney would be a good VP.

I certainly wish that McCain would deputize his posse NOW. Admit the VP Palin brilliance energizing the ticket to victory BECAUSE of team Thompson and Romney on board, including Rudy, utilizing Thompson’s winning platform and gravitas, utilizing Romney’s organization skills in campaigning to complement/IGNITE McCain’s flagging lag in clarity, and never overlooking Rudy’s attorney general appeal. Together, this crew would win hands down!

That bobama only has a slight national lead over McCain PROVES that the mantra “year of the democrat” is just more ubertard propaganda.

Thanks Ghostbuster, you have a great Sunday also. Paradise Valley is a beautiful place, no doubt about that. We drove family members through there just this past Tuesday, on our way to Yellowstone Park.

I agree with your thinking entirely… McCain will get my vote, but I will much happier if he has Mitt Romney or Fred Thompson at his side. This election is all about which candidate will harm the country the least. Sad state of affairs.

The gang of 14 and the McShamnesty is why I had McCain practically as my last choice for the GOP nod this election cycle. However, Obama’s sneaky attack on McCain’s service to our country via his dishonorable surrogates has me so damn mad, that I am now supporting McCain’s candidacy now. Whether he gets financial support from me depends upon his choice of VP. If he screws the conservatives over by a bad VP pick, then my vote for him will be while I hold my nose. However, we can NOT let obama win at any cost this election cycle. Our country barely survived Jimmy Carter. I can not fathom a presidency that would be 10 times worse, and that is what we have with Obama. It is a very scarey prospect.

Polling in Montana is really difficult due to the hundreds of thousands of people that live in rural areas. Polling data is pulled from cities such as Bozeman and Missoula; college towns both of them. College towns are where most of the Obama supporters exist.

I’ll give you my best take on the political climate in Montana. This state is heavily populated with military families who have members currently serving; also, lots of retired servicemen. I haven’t talked with one single military family that agrees with Obama’s politics, or with Democrat politics for that matter. I believe McCain will carry Montana by a comfortable margin come November. I will also tell you that Montanans are not happy with this current crop of GOP critters. Big government policies, expanding the government reach into our homes, spending like drunken Liberals, corruption, lacking in integrity & principled behavior; all have hurt the GOP big time. This state could become purple, or even blue if the GOP continues to turn it’s back on Conservatives. McCain made a few blunders that have not helped him here at all; the gang of fourteen and McShamnesty have left a trust issue with many. Everywhere I go, people have their radios tuned in to Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, or Beck. If the Dems had a candidate other than a radical white person hating Liberal, I could see them winning Montana is 08…. The GOP will lose this state if they stay on the path they are currently on.

I have been very ambivalent about McCain. I am afraid he is going to listen to the political pundits in tv who are saying he needs to pick lieberman/hillary/name that liberal, instead of a good conservative VP we can be proud of. I hope he seriously picks Palin in Alaska. I also hope he picks the day after the convention ends in Denver to make that announcement to take the wind away from their potential post convention “bounce”. I am a Fred Head. I loved his firm stance on things and the way he could verbally skewer a liberal. Hopefully Fred will stump for McCain and do just that.

I have decided I am voting FOR McCain now instead of against Obama. I reached this conclusion this week with their orchestrated attack on McCain’s military service. It highly offended me and I am now going to actually donate to his campaign after the convention IF he has a good VP pick. Before this week, I was not going to financially support his campaign.

You misinterpreted my comment; I have NO admiration for HRC… I was simply stating what I believe to be the truth about her situation. Talk about the “ugly American”… HRC is exactly that; talk about vanity, this woman defines the term!

I’ve noticed recently that the media is going kookoo for Juan and Cindy…go figure. Maybe they’re having bad dreams about MO harvesting their organs and selling them to China in order to reduce our interest rates on those loans.

Do it JD, come and pay us a visit… I was born and raised (51) years in So. Cal., and while I have a deep love for the Californians I hung with (as well as the weather), I had no idea what small town America looked like, acted like, and felt like. To most here in Montana, you’re not a Republican or a Democrat as much as you’re an American, and you had better damn well behave like one. Beautiful wide open country abounds here, and very traditional & friendly people. Extreme weather conditions keep most from living here I would guess; fabulous place to visit, explore, and have a memorable experience with your family.
