Ordinary1 on July 4, 2008 at 4:05 PM

For every hero on the stage
On parade or in the grave
With medals pinned and glory flags unfurled

The humble serviceman by scores
Packs the caissons, Guards the doors
Sails sea and sky across the troubled world

Comrades in arms who heard the call
And stepped across that line for all
Knowing well that fate might call their name

They crossed that sword mark in the dust
For freedoms sake and God they trust
And did it not for fortunes gold or fame

This Independence Day give thanks
To soldiers past and current ranks
And Praise Eternal God that they were there

Oh quiet heroes, every one
Without your hand, naught would be won
Pray our acclaim, the purest badge you wear

I’ve always thought that the military ought to teach some history courses, at least during boot camp, to make up for what our students aren’t taught in school. The full and truthful knowledge of our history would make them even stronger defenders of “truth, justice, and the American way”

AUINSC on July 4, 2008 at 4:34 PM

The war is going extremely well. You’d never know it from the defeatist surrender talk of the cut and run surrender monkey democrats and their fifth-columnist uber left-wing media allies, but the fact is that the Iraq War has been and is a roaring success by every meaningful standard. I often listen to a radio program to which active-duty service personnel frequently call in, and I can tell you that the optimism, confidence and morale that I hear in their voices truly is sky high.

The only one recurring sour note comes from the realization that if not for the aid and comfort provided to the Al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq by the America-hating liberals and democrats in this country, our boys job would likely at this point be all but finished, ready to hand things off to the Iraqi army, the Iraqi police and the Iraqi government, and all set to board those ships and planes for their eagerly awaited trip home.

When I think of the needless deaths and suffering our boys have had to endure as a direct result of the machinations of the democrats who want to surrender just as soon as they can, it is very, very difficult for me to contain the intense anger and outrage I feel. In fact, I’m all set to volunteer as an interrogator at Guantanamo - just so long as I’m permitted to take a couple of plane loads of democrats down there with me.

Tomorrows NYT Headline:

1,215 forced to reinlist

Baghdad (July 4, 2008)

By: Traitor Trevor Smith.

As armed soldiers surrounded the building, preventing exit, General Betrayus Petraeus forced 1215 memb ers of the American Mercenary to reenlist and take the oath to continue killing thousands of Islamic Freedom Fighters and millions of Iraqi citizens.

Video of the forced reenlistments was immediately released to right wing Blogs to convince Anti-War movement that members of the American Mercenary, and a majority of American citizens, want to continue this illegal war. An anonymous source (Pvt. Lyetous Lionus Jones), who participated in this farce, said he, and the other 1214 members, was force to reenlist.

When presented with the evidence claim by our anonymous source, Gen. Petraeus said that all volunteered to reenlist and the security force was to prevent a terrorist attack.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi(self-appointed Co-Commanders in Chief) have expressed their outrage and will conduct investigations upon their return to Washington after this May Day Fourth of July holiday.

Subscribe to the NYT for continuing coverage of this story.

I think he just meant that the phrase “new greatest generation” doesn’t make any sense. There can’t be two as the word “greatest” denotes something singular.

But he should have just explained this instead of going on about five year children, cat and mice etc.

However, I can’t speak for him, for both, his initial statement, and the others which followed. He, and his family, served the county repeatedly, over many generations, as he stated before, and proved when forced to by some here, and certainly can clarify anything, or nothing. We’ll wait and see.
