The real stupidity about punishing, so called, hate crime, is that any punishment will only cause the offender to hate more. Especially if he/she is locked up in prison with a whole bunch of the source of hatred.

When I mentioned the possibility of civil disturbance I just mean anti-government action. Bukovsky warns of an EU dictatorship.

‘Honky is a word that a lot of my black friends use to describe a white person, so I suppose that’s why I was charged with racial abuse. But it’s ridiculous that I was taken to court over it.

If hate/thought crime goes much farther, it will soon be illegal to self-defend against or put a stop to criminal activity by any minority

Honky comes from bohunk and hunky, derogatory terms for Bohemian, Hungarian, and Polish immigrants that came into use around the turn of the century. According to Robert Hendrickson, author of the Encyclopedia of Word and Phrase Origins, black workers in Chicago meat-packing plants picked up the term from white workers and began applying it indiscriminately to all Caucasians. Probably thought they all looked alike.

Another probable etymon for honky, cited by David Dalby in his “African Element in American English” (to be found in my Rappin’ and Stylin’ Out: Communication in Urban Black America) is the Wolof term honq, “red, pink,” a term frequently used in to describe white men in African languages.
