The National Guard would tell a President who ordered them to shoot Americans who didn’t disarm to stick it up his tailpipe.

I doubt even the arrogrant-to-the-point-of-solipsism Obama would try to pull a stunt like that… no, as always, control will be ratcheted up slowly over time.

I hate to poop on this party, but I think you eminently reasonable people misunderestimate how many unreasonable people there are out there who blame Big Oil.

Which is why this is so important…Pelosi and the Dems dinged the Oil companies, they took away “tax breaks”, they worked to bring the oil companies under control, and this is what they got. A $2 per gallon jump in price.
So who is the culprit after one year?
That is why this video is so important. A chronicle of Dem failure, after assuring us they will fix the problem.

Republican’s held the majority in Congress from 2000 on. In 2002, they extended their majority in both houses. Bush, the big oil guy, is a Republican.

For some reason, these Republicans didn’t do anything to extend the conservative idealism and principals, well except lampoon them and dumb when they had a chance.

For years, it was the Senate, where our great Republican Leader McCain opposed drilling in ANWR. Then when the Senate finally passed a bill over the objections of Democrats Reid and McCain, the House folded and voted it down.

Now, the Republicans hope to make Abortion, the Court, Gun Rights, and Gas Prices the predominate political topics of the election. Apparently the battle plan from 2006, that the Democrats are Soft on the War on Terror, hasn’t shown them that the people actually expect actions for their tax dollars.

So the Democrats are set to win huge in November. Possibly even getting enough Senate Seats to manage Cloture votes easily. Then the Republicans have to wonder how dumb the voters are. Apparently not dumb enough to fail to notice that the Republicans aren’t really all that interested in pushing legislation through when they were in charge. Apparently not dumb enough to swallow the rhetoric and partisan bickering as actual truth from either side.

If only they were right? Then the people could be counted on turning out every couple years to wipe drool from their chins and vote Republican like they’re supposed to, then we’d be just fine right? If only the people still believed that Republicans were going to do something about Abortion and other Conservative Issues, but alas, they don’t.

It’s LIBERALISM which kills us!!!

Nothing but brain-dead, self-destructive “solutions” from crazed liberals!! Taxing energy suppliers into oblivion to “solve” the energy crisis!! Pushing politically-chosen technologies like “ethanol” which quadruple the cost of both food and fuel!!! Blocking access to oil, coal, and nuclear!!! Wasting tax money on the least efficient and most unreliable energy sources possible: solar (spend $30,000 and get less energy than required to run a single toaster) and wind (destroy massive plots of land and get no energy at all when you need it most).

Finally their energy stranglehold has us on the verge of the worst economic decline since the Great Depression. Even in the face of real economic hardship over home heating costs this and succeeding winters, they stubbornly refuse to allow energy production to substantially increase. They would have us believe that increasing taxes on the oil companies will somehow help, somehow increase energy supply. We seem too intimidated by their PC bullying to repudiate the zealous climatological ruse that brings on the crisis.

Our children and their children may never see the standard of living that we have known. (Not to mention, thanks to the cultural Marxists, are they likely to understand the traditional concepts of individual freedom, integrity and responsibility.)

If any semblance of unrevised history is still allowed to be taught, they will attribute the fall of the Berlin Wall and Communism to the Reagan era, and the re-emergence of socialism/statism/collectivism to ours.

Based on reading some of the more progressive sites I truly believe that the liberal democratic plan has always been to crash the economy. Just as the democratic socialist rode the depression to power back in the 30s so will they in the near future. They can not take over the country or control it if the people are economically happy. Just take a look at all the piss-ant third world hell holes around the world. Do you think that they are that way because they can’t get their sh*t together? They are that way because the populace can be controlled when they are in poverty. The plan is and always has been to bring this country down economically from within and I fear they are very near their goal.

The fact that she knows she’s being dishonest really shows on her face in that video.

You were able to watch her for that long.

I could hardly stand to listen to her voice.

She needs to learn how to read, or at least read through the speech somebody else wrote for her a couple times befoe going public.

But it reminded me of guitarist Nigel Tufnel in the documentary This is Spinal Tap bragging that his amplifier was so awesome because the volume goes up not just to 10, but all the way up to 11.

I’m Insert any politicians name and I’ve been in the Congress for a long time where we have done absolutely frigging nothing about getting more oil…nada…zip…zilch…zero…close but no cigar! I know that I’ve come to the table a bit late and have proposed drilling now that you are making decisions between selling your children and filling up your cars with gas, but we in Congress really really really don’t give a rat’s ass what you little people are paying or we would have done something about this situation 10 years ago!!!

“The concern we have is about the security of demand,” Khelil, who is also Algeria’s energy minister, told delegates at industry event the World Petroleum Congress in Madrid.

He said there were “big uncertainties” about making huge investments in infrastructure to increase output from OPEC member countries, which pump about 40 percent of world oil.

Benchmark oil prices hit record high levels above 143 dollars a barrel on Tuesday amid growing public anger at the rising cost of fuel worldwide and concern about the impact on inflation and economic growth.

Consumer countries are clamouring for higher output from OPEC and keen to see investments in future capacity to deflate the market, but the remarks from Khelil underline the resistance in many oil producing countries.

Yeah let the dems keep talking about oil “making us sick”

Every voter who pumps gas knows that the Democrats have failed on energy policy, and that four years more of this New Direction would wreak economic disaster.

No, the problem is that every voter who pumps gas doesn’t know how the Dems have failed. They need to know, but sadly, most are busy watching some idiotic dance reality show, or something just as bad.

Holding hearings is not taking action, holding hearings is grandstanding by pointing a finger of blame at Bush, Big Oil, Haiiburton or any other perceived evil entity associated with the oil industry.

I’ve been hearing that speech delivered by Pelosi from the Democrats for decades. The speaker changes, the dollar amount changes, but what never changes is policy. Just drag out the canned speech and blame everyone else for the problems their inaction has caused.

How about eliminating the Fed Tax on gas, today. I know many pork projects would suffer as a result, but we the people would put more money in our pocket IMMEDIATELY. Not in 5 years, 10 or even 20.
