Can anyone list an example of a honest-to-God military hero affiliated with the Democrats? So far, it seems like the Dems military spokesmen have the following in common:

* If highest rank was flag officer, person served under Clinton (and yes, flag rank requires immense political savvy); or

* If highest rank was operations officer (LTC or below), their service record was either truncated (e.g., Kerry, Murtha) or else having either little or no combat or similiar leadership experience.

The only possible example I can think of is Bob Kerrey.

Anyone???
