Read the posts, friend. It is indeed happening here. My kids’ school has the same idiotic rule about birthday party invitations, All or None. PC dry-rot has infested our Publik Skoolz to varying degrees, and I live in a VERY conservative GA district. Educational Bureaucrats have a stranglehold on our schools. Defunding the Dept. of Education is the start of regaining control of our kids’ education.

The school we left when we moved from Virginia, which was a great and fun school, had a new principal who canceled pretty much everything fun and/or competitive in the school. “Crazy hat and hair day” was canceled. “Wear pajamas to school day” was canceled. “Field day” was canceled because some kids are disabled and can’t run or jump. Halloween was canceled because some kids might not be able to afford costumes. She tried to cancel the sock hop but parents drew the line there. However, she did cancel the accompanying raffles, because some families might be too poor to buy raffle tickets and we shouldn’t be reminding them of that. She canceled the dance contest and the hula-hoop contest during the sock hop because the kids who lost these contests might feel bad. She even told some parents that eventually she wanted to do away with Honor Roll, because it was too “exclusive.” She moved it to the end of the honors assembly so she could emphasize the attendance and citizenship awards which virtually every child received. It was turning into Sweden. I was very glad to get my kids away from there.

I guess I am raising my kids right though. My daughter just demanded to try out for a travel soccer team because she was fed up with the intramural league where everyone was supposed to just have fun and not care about winning, and the rules are not enforced. She ignores the birthday rules and takes her party invitations to school. All the kids know she brings the best birthday treats every year. She’s a leader and I am going to make sure she continues to be.

Appreciate the differences of other countries’ cultures while at the same time being glad that your country doesn’t do the same.

Because unfortunately, the same culture responsible for this story is the one that is responsible for the friendly Swedish babes.

This confirms to all students that the school administrators have no ability to make sound or reasonable judgments, and that the teachers also deserve the students’ contempt.

All children will like all other children unless said unliked child gives permission to be unliked. Punishment of the offending child shall be public humiliation in a likeable way.
