The SCOTUS ruling is a high mark for individuals and a decided low mark for the anti-individual Socialist-Democrat party. Of course Comrade B.H. Obama is less than delighted, his role model government (that would be the Maoist Chinese) had to restrict gun ownership to seize control of China. How is he going to follow in Mao’s Long March if the peasants have guns?

Neither video has Obama saying he wants to rid LEGAL ownership of guns nor does he state that the Second Amendment should be ignorned. So the big issue for LEGAL GUN OWNERS IS…???

Before today, Obama repeatedly said that he supports the D.C. gun ban, and that he believes it is constitutional. Today he tells us that the Supreme Court’s holding striking down the gun ban as unconstitutional is consistent with his position.

Either Obama is an ignorant fool, or he thinks the rest of us are (or maybe both).

Craig Layne, a reporter from WJET-TV in Erie, Penn., today asked Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, a question on the DC gun ban.

Here’s how the exchange went down.

“In November you mentioned that the DC handgun law was constitutional,” Layne said. “Now you’re embracing the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision striking down
that law-

“That’s not what I said,” Obama interrupted, per ABC News’ Jennifer Duck.

“Your aide said that,” Layne clarified.

“I don’t know what my aide said but I’ve been very consistent, I teach constitutional law,” Obama said. What I said was that I believe 2nd Amendment as being an individual right and have said that consistently. I also think that individual right is constrained by the rights of the community to maintain issues with public safety. I don’t think those two principles are contradictory and in fact what I’ve been saying consistently is what the Supreme Court essentially said today.”

Uh, der, duh, I don’t think those two principles are contradictory.

Obama will never be pressed on whether he thinks the DC gun ban went to far and he won’t provide an honest answer to a simple question. I respect someone like Senator Chuck Schuner who proudly admits that he favors confiscation of all firearms. I don’t agree with him but at least he does not try to duck from the question. He states clearly that he would like the federal government to confiscate weapons. But what is shameful is that Barack Obama will never be asked about his namby pamby views.
