Ed, is there some way, even at this late hour, that Michelle and Melanie can negotiate special prices from “The Campaign Store” for this prospective massive national troop support drive?

I just took a look at their available Care Package options and am frankly aghast at what is being offered for the prices charged per unit, even factoring in the priority mail charges. It looks like quite a profit will be made by this vendor off this noble campaign, bringing to mind some of the more rapacious “military support” non-profit organizations floating around out there.

I don’t wish to be negative, but please be assured that I definitely know what these prices could really have provided in content per package if fairly charged.

I believe I speak with some authority on this matter, having been a one-home care package campaigner for 4 years on a personal support-the-troops drive that damaged my health (and credit rating) but sent out enough customized, personalized care packages that (hopefully) brought comfort and joy to about 3,000 deployed (mostly) Marines, Spec Ops operators and hospitalized wounded warriors involved in our GWOT primary theatres of operation (Iraq, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa, and Mindanao.)

I reckon most of the female troops would differ with the first part of your list. And General Order #1(b) means no beer… heh.

I sent in a short clip for the webcast – since I am not available live. If I was to get a care package, t’would be nice, but there are others who could use it more.

I ordered two care packages. Considering shipping cost to send stuff to the troops on your own, it’s pretty cheap.
