Tomorrow: From the Front Lines, live at Hot Air
posted at 5:00 pm on June 25, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
Just a reminder that Hot Air will host and sponsor a terrific web event, From the Front Lines, hosted by Melanie Morgan and our own Michelle Malkin! Ustream will broadcast the event live through its servers, and what an event it will be. Special guests like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Monica Crowley will join us as From the Front Lines interviews troops in the field and gets the latest on the efforts in the war on terror, starting at 4 pm ET:

You can do your part by donating care packages for the troops on the front lines. We hope to raise $500,000 in donated care packages for the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan who have put their lives on the line for our nation, and for a better world. I’ve already bought my care packages, and I may buy a few more tomorrow, too! You can start now and keep it going.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow, and bring a few friends with you!

Thanks for doing this.
Suggestion: Have at least one segment per hour devoted to having real soldiers talk about their heroic deeds a la Belavia’s House To House.

I think that half million milestone will be demolished.

I ordered two care packages. Considering shipping cost to send stuff to the troops on your own, it’s pretty cheap.
I double dog dare the rest of Hot Air to buy a care package. (A double dog dare is binding in court)
In the slightly altered words of a highly altered rappist (rapper?) “DONATE OR DIE!” :)

I’m ready to contribute.

I wonder how many care packages the Kos site has sent to the troops. Oh, never mind, I know how many. This is why HotAir is great, good people trying to do something worthwhile. You have my support.

They don’t want CARE packages or talk radio sis-boom-bah! They want women and beer! They should at least have beer anyway. If the Muslims don’t like it … … …
MB4 on June 25, 2008 at 7:33 PM
I’m looking forward to this.

I reckon most of the female troops would differ with the first part of your list. And General Order #1(b) means no beer… heh.
I sent in a short clip for the webcast – since I am not available live. If I was to get a care package, t’would be nice, but there are others who could use it more.

Ed, is there some way, even at this late hour, that Michelle and Melanie can negotiate special prices from “The Campaign Store” for this prospective massive national troop support drive?
I just took a look at their available Care Package options and am frankly aghast at what is being offered for the prices charged per unit, even factoring in the priority mail charges. It looks like quite a profit will be made by this vendor off this noble campaign, bringing to mind some of the more rapacious “military support” non-profit organizations floating around out there.
I don’t wish to be negative, but please be assured that I definitely know what these prices could really have provided in content per package if fairly charged.
I believe I speak with some authority on this matter, having been a one-home care package campaigner for 4 years on a personal support-the-troops drive that damaged my health (and credit rating) but sent out enough customized, personalized care packages that (hopefully) brought comfort and joy to about 3,000 deployed (mostly) Marines, Spec Ops operators and hospitalized wounded warriors involved in our GWOT primary theatres of operation (Iraq, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa, and Mindanao.)
