Well, about the ‘Fairness Doctrine’: Reinstate it, and you’ll have 30+ million people who listen to Rush, Sean, Laura, and a host of others deluging Congress. Maybe the Democrats will turn a deaf ear, if they’re still in the majority, but come 2010 there’ll be a lot of challengers. Should be interesting.

Not a chance.

Question: What happens when the Fairness Doctrine takes talk radio off the air. Will it go to internet radio, satellite radio or what?

Rush sounds like he has a contingency plan, but I can’t figure out what it might be. Is ad-supported (free) satellite economically feasible?

I’ve got a nutty hunch that once he’s free and clear of the electorate the “conversation” he has in mind about opening up the airwaves to new viewpoints is going to lead to him “reconsidering” his position on Fairness, much as he “reconsidered” his position on public financing.

I’m with AP on this one.

There needn't be a bill or a vote in congress. The FCC commisioners a ~~stalinist~~ Dem would appoint can reintstate it anytime and presto, it's the law of the land w/o Hussein having to flip flop, and with no impetus to undo it.

We need to prevent the left from hijacking the language on this. It is in no way a FAIRNESS doctrine.

Fair would be to let all sides compete in the marketplace of ideas and those that can sustain themselves shall and those that can’t won’t.

To do otherwise is forcing propoganda down our throats.

The revoltion continues only this time the battle field is the airways and media outlets. My powder is dry, my eye sight keen.
