Yup. McCain will be 'worse' to our country than Obama. Obama.

Worse. Obama is the lesser of the two evils by comparison to McCain. Right. Sure.

The amount of damage he can do in one term is far more than its worth.

Obama, or McCain?

I notice the McCain cheerleaders never get two specific as to the differences between the two men.

We don’t need a Jimmy Carter rewind!

You mean, we don't need a liberal former naval officer?

What sucks is that they are on the same team. Just for the record.

I'm sorry but that is not factually correct. They are not on the same team. Not even close. You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but Obama is the most liberal person in the senate, where as McCain got a rating of "B" from the American Conservative Union, so, you're comment is an opinion without merit.

Don’t allow a communist like Obama to win the Whitehouse while Democrats own the House and the Senate by refusing to vote either as a protest or as a manipulation in hopes of a Ronald Reagan afterwards.

The amount of damage he can do in one term is far more than its worth.

Some things cannot be undone.

If you get your way, then McCain will lose. And you will be happy. The end result of a two man race is that one man is the loser, and the other man is the winner. And ... *let me connect the dots for you since you are unwilling or unable to figure this out for yourself* .... and the result is that Obama will be the next president. You now know this, since I told you. You can't pretend you've never heard of this before. So this debunked 'It has nothing to do with Obama' comment is now invalid. As I said. This is now a two man race.

If you decide not to vote for the lesser of two evils, and you convince others to do as you wish, then the direct result will be the greater of two evils becoming president.

Wiseman you really don't get it. I will not vote for someone who doesn't reflect my views and values. It's as simple as that. It has nothing to do with Obama or being pissed off for any reason. Why is that so hard to understand?

We can fix anything we are truly determined to fix. That’s why America is America and the rest of the planet isn’t ;)

But we can't fix the Republican party, it seems. After years of complaints that Bush was too liberal and ineffectual, we're going with a man who makes Bush look like Reagan.

And democrats masquerading as conservatives and misguided conservatives who are pissed that their candidate lost in the republican primaries and seek their revenge come to conservative websites and attempt to convince real conservatives to do one thing:

Not vote for McCain in the hopes that Barack Obama is elected the next president of the United States.

I’ll take the challenge of fixing the damage of the McCain years over the challenge of fixing the damage of the Obama years any day

It's the same damage, so I can't imagine why you feel that way. The only difference is that with McCain the damage reflects back on the Republican party, just as it has with Bush.

If you think people hate the GOP now, just wait till they get four years of McMoron. The Republican Congressional delegation will be meeting in a phone booth.

How exactly will McCain successfully prosecute such a war when he has to work with a deep blue Congress (which will only get bluer once he’s elected) and a left-leaning SCOTUS (left-leaning certainly w.r.t. enumerated powers and the GWOT)?

Bingo. For me, that's what it all boils down to. With a Dem in the WH, there's at least some hope that truly conservative Repubs will rediscover their spines and resist him every step of the way, and with McCain's RINO liberalism solidly repudiated, perhaps even some of the squishier RINOs will catch the way the wind is blowing and sign on, because it will have been demonstrated to be politically expedient to do so. Which is what matters most to liberals, be they Dem or Repub.

With McCain as president, conservatism will have the rug yanked out from under its feet for years to come. And given his well-known egocentric vindictiveness, I don't feature too many Repubs fighting back when he forcefeeds us amnesty, cap and trade, punitive actions to limit oil companies' "obscene profits," and who knows what else.

"Pressure" McCain into tacking right after he's in office? Where's that ever gotten anyone? The man positively delights in thumbing his nose at conservatives. Accept some sort of fantasy iron-clad promise on amnesty? He's spoken with a forked tongue way too many times for anybody to have any serious expectation that it'd be kept -- and it's a promise he's never going to make anyway.

The Supreme Court is a non-issue here. The three seats likely to become vacant are already held by liberals, the mildly conservative majority is secure for the foreseeable future, and if you think someone who "wears his conservatism on his sleeve" will either be nominated by McCain, who has explicitly said he won't, or will sail through a Dem Congress, you're kidding yourself. It's wishful thinking, born of wit's-end desperation, and that's about it.

Vote the way you want, of course and as always. But Chicken Little predictions of ultimate doom and disaster if Obama gets in ignore the resilience of our nation, and aren't persuasive. At least, not to me.

We now have what is effectively a one-party system in this country, and no matter whether we elect a Dem or a Repub, the leftward drift keeps right on moving us Euro-liteward. I just can't see how voting for the status quo out of fear is going to change it. And it badly needs to change.

How is illegal immigration even up for a debate? It’s a no-brainer. Build a freakin’ wall!

Way to reduce a really complex issue into a single, brainless sentence.

I'd say that immigration is a complex issue. Illegal immigration? Not so much. It's illegal. Secure the border. Serious punishment for employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens. Get and KEEP the violent criminals out. Deport anyone who's left. What, exactly, do we need a brainy debate about? A little less talk and a lot more action sounds like a plan to me.

I am not using fear to justify any candidate, unlike you. And McCain isn't a conservative plain and simple whether you accept this point or not.

This is still America. McCain will never be my candidate. My candidate will be someone who shares my views. Not someone who compromises them. If no one fits that bill, then no one will be my candidate. It's time we think outside the 2 party box. Or in this case, the one party box.

My reference to the impending depression is a justification to pay the price to right the GOP. The yin in this yang is that the next President will always be identified with the coming modern day 1930's style depression. That being so, there is no better time to make sacrifices for the long term health of the GOP than now. Or we can do things your way and have a democratic party and a democratic lite party.
