France and Britain were not strong enough to take on Germany. Iran is a third-rate nation and even with nuclear arms, they could never survive a full-scale war against us.

The German dude's faith in the interdependence of the
european community may be misplaced. They weren't very good
at that in WWII, were they? France went into full appeasement,
Spain said oh no, we're neutral, Switzerland said come put your German money in our banks.
Europe against the calyphate? No chance - for europe.

Europe should also worry abut Obama's committment to NATO and to their defense against rogue state missile attacks (Iran and N Korea). Obama has been on the wrong side of BMD as well as defnse spending.

More and more I see Obama a product of George Soros. His core advisers are right from the Carter era (both literally and figuratively). Soros believes in a weaker America, so does Obama.

Obama retreats only when it will cost him votes. If you want to see Obama's philosophy, read up on George Soros.

When the U.S. unilaterally disarms, this would leave the Europeans to depend on — dare I say it? — the United Nations.

The United Nations are just a venue. Do you expect the Yankee Stadium to play and win games in Major League?

The nations of Europe will depend on themselves and each other, as they should have all along.

You from great britian? The place with the army that barricaded itself at the basra airport while the mahdi militia took over? The iraqi army did in three weeks what the british army couldn't do in 5 years.

You guys see any iranian johnboats lately?

Melanie Phillips (Spectator UK) reminds us that Obama
is a Muslim hiding in taqiyya, and he will pull the
USA out of the middle East.
His plan, I think, it to bring about a humiliation of the
USA in the eyes of the world.
I think he feels that will good for our (infidel) souls.
Certainly he will allow Iran to finish getting its
atomic bombs.
But he is probably wrong if he thinks he can avoid seeing
those atomic bombs used.
I would fully expect that in the first term of Obama's
presidency, we would lose NYC and DC, and Europe will
lose London and Paris. Israel will lose quite a lot.
What happens after that is not predictable.
But certainly Europe is right to fear electing an Arab
who pretends to be "black" to be President.

Europe has conservatives just like we do. Just like us they're not heard as much.

I spent the summer of '86 in Switzerland and people were uneasy. Reagan had bombed Tripoli, trying to kill Qaddafi. People were very angry with USSR for Chernobyl, for not telling anyone how bad it was. Switzerland had to recall all their milk products for radioactivity testing.

I was told to expect agressive questioning about US policy. I was on full tact mode and expecting people to be critical. I was so surprised. The people I worked with were like, "Reagan did EXACTLY the RIGHT thing. Qaddafi has had it coming to him for years." Being a college student from California, I was shocked.

So, we can be misled by the Euro MSM into thinking there is no conservative thought on the continent, just as we are misled by our own MSM.

jmarcure, you stated:

"European governments play to the people. It’s the people that love BO but the politicians live in the real world and many see that if the USA goes down so do they."

and this

"Because like the European politicians they live in a real world but have to deal day to day with people that live in a fantasy world. The real world of sane people fears a BO presidency because they know what will happen to not only the USA but to the world when it happens."

I could not disagree more. That's a Europe that ended 30 years ago if it ever existed. Europe now is Brussels. It's dhimmitude and multicultural rot. They love Obama. He is their best hope that America, with both Houses controlled by the Dems, to become a Europe lite. They have every expectation that all of Bush's policies will be reversed. It is their expectation that we will join every world body, especially in the Hague, giving up several bits of our sovereignty.

His inexperience is even more compelling for them. They imagine that they will massage him where they want him to go. They will guilt trip him behind closed doors and he will guilt trip us publicly from the bully pulpit. They wish the election was yesterday.

My back of the envelope estimate of 75% favorability was too low. Today a poll came out putting it upwards of 84%.

I see why Ed posts this stuff - it allows people to foist their self-made misfortunes onto foreign peoples they despise.

Oh, and by the way, I see from your blog that you are Irish...based on the recent EU vote in your country (which I heartily appluad, in case you are interested) what makes you think that when I was talking about 'Europe', I was thinking Ireland...unless you think that Ireleand = Europe, anyway? I think you may have fired on 'friendlies' in your post, but I'll leave that for you to decide.

Bush named Iran as part of the Axis of Evil six years ago and has done nothing to stop them. He also discredited conservatism with his phony-baloney nation-building in the desert plan. No one wants to admit that so you instead you’re sulking over scapegoats. Boo hoo.

Uh, yeah, I did expect this from you after all...

No, I never conceded that Europe could elect a US president because they 'wished it'. Learn to read before you post. I'm saying they wanted it and now they have it...big difference...but I don't expect you to be able to distinguish between the two points anyway...and I know you aren't American, so I find it funny that you feel so invested in this point anyway....

And yes, Bush has not done enough about Iran...but Obama wants to negotiate with them...what is your point? Oh, I think I get your point..."discredited conservatism with his phony-baloney nation-building in the desert plan"...YEAH, I get you now! "Oh, this Iraq war was such a DISTRACTION from our REAL enemies..we should have been going after BIN LADEN instead of this phoney Iraq War!"

Gee, where, oh, where I have I heard this before...I think I remember now..

What BS. Europe is now responsible for the election of American Presidents? Hahaha. I suppose if your favourite team doesn't win the Superbowl thats the fault of Europeans as well??

Europe is about to get what they always wanted…and now that they see it, they are recognizing that what they wanted was not such a great idea after all…A weak and vacillating America, under an Obama regime, that will no longer support democracies in the world against aggresive tyrants and terrorists…Be careful what you wish for, you self-centered, socialist idiots, you might get it.

Europe concerned about Obama? Yeah, sure.
They love Obama.

European governments play to the people. It’s the people that love BO but the politicians live in the real world and many see that if the USA goes down so do they. Remember that for a liberal it’s all about the thought and feeling. That is why the dems can get out there and make speech after speech about how anti-war they are and how they will cut funding and end the war but when the time comes to vote they vote against it. Why? Because like the European politicians they live in a real world but have to deal day to day with people that live in a fantasy world. The real world of sane people fears a BO presidency because they know what will happen to not only the USA but to the world when it happens. To bad for the world because I really think it’s unstoppable. I would like to say we reap what we sow but in this case I think it’s more of a case of letting the weeds overrun the garden and at this point how can we weed the garden? When I was a little boy I thought I would live in a fantastic technological world with Moon colonies and flying cars. Never did I consider I would live to see mankind’s destruction though its own stupidity. We all feared the “bomb” and in reality we should have feared the “hippie” who planted the seeds of modern day liberalism which will lead to the end of human kind and very likely in our lifetimes.

Obama Picks Up Support of Democratic Superdelegate Kim Jong-Il...

North Korea's got Obamania. Our European allies, on the other hand, are aren't so keen on Obama unilaterally conceding a key precondition to Iran's mad mullahs. So our enemies love him, our allies are afraid of him. Sounds about right.......

Step 1. Get underpants
Step 2. ???
Step 3. Get Iran to stop enriching uranium.

It’s a perfect plan.

Perfect! Can we start referring to Obama's foreign policy team as the Underpants Gnomes?

AZCoyote on June 22, 2008 at 2:50 PM
What's the big deal? It's just the Great Uniter at work. The Lambs will lay down with the Lions.

Of course, by the next morning, after the Lions have had their way with the Lambs they will be picking wool out of their teeth.

But never mind that. It would require actually thinking ahead. No need to do that with the Obama at the helm. He will steer us though the angry waters and bring us to the promised land.

Just get on your knees and pull the lever. So to speak...

MM and Jawa Report are saying that Obama seems to have picked up yet another coveted international endorsement: Vicious dictator Kim Jong Il of North Korea wants Obama, and not John McCain, elected President of the U.S.

Let's see now. Terrorist group Hamas' leaders have expressed their preference for Obama, as have despots Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, and now Kim Jong Il. And the Iranians may have their nuclear weapons ready to go just in time for Obama's coronation . . . uh, I mean inauguration.

The Europeans are afraid of Obama? We should all be friggin' terrified.
