Well Barack fires off now and then about a third term

The only way this is going to work to McCain’s advantage is if McCain is able to generate a narrative of Obama as being an opportunistic phony. If you don’t have the underlying narrative, Obama’s reversal on public financing will just be seen as shrewd politicking and everyone will move on.

The pieces are there to generate that narrative, but McCain’s actually going to have to run with it and is going to have to work really hard to get that message into an unbearably pro-Obama media. I have absolutely no confidence that McCain will actually do that. This guy is definitely Bob Dole v2, and that’s a shame.

Definitely. You could accuse Bush of many things, but he’s not a liar. In spite of an intensive campaign by the left to paint him that way.

The biggest problem with GWB is getting him to defend himself when he’s being lied about.
