Sharpton: The IRS is hassling me because I was “one of the guys out there first on the war”

And also because he’s such a fearsome champion of civil rights when he’s not busy falsely accusing people of rape. What’s the most loathsome aspect here, the fact that Sharpton himself at times seems like he’s having trouble keeping a straight face or the spectacle of O’Reilly demonstrating once again that there’s no race-baiter so cretinous that he won’t happily give him a platform on the Factor? Answer: Neither. The most loathsome part is that a segment devoted to letting Sharpton, a convicted tax dodger, blame everyone but himself for his current tax problems is capped by 30 seconds of lip service paid to … personal responsibility.
Read the Post’s long but worthy chronicle from last week of his various shakedown schemes over the years. If you’re a major corporation, you might as well treat buying him off the way you would insurance premiums. Just a cost of doing business.

O’Reilly is just trying to get some street cred which he hopes will help lure the Messiah to his show….Bill is desperate to be black…he has become pathetic!

Tawanna Brawley’s best friend is a victim. Surprise, surprise, surprise…

Seems like the IRS would’ve gone after him a bit earlier if his opposition to the war was the issue. I suspect it’s really because of his support for the Jena six!
BuzzCrutcher on June 20, 2008 at 12:39 PM
Oh to be a black activist…what a gig.
Only the liberal black activists make that money; Thomas Sowell you really blew it.
right2bright on June 20, 2008 at 12:41 PM
Having his tax return filed by W Snipes/CPA didn’t help either.
Black/white/green/yellow/holstein cow doesn’t matter a lick.
Some people go through life gaming everything. Sharpton is simply one of those who giggled every time he ‘outsmarted’ the system.
Limerick on June 20, 2008 at 12:43 PM
I saw this last night, I was completely disgusted by both as well. With Sharpton, well, there’s no surprise really, but with Bill? Come on! He could have at least grilled him and made him a little uncomfortable!

The left see O’Reilly as a right wing tool. O’Reilly seems to be more fair and balanced that every single left wing tool such as Olbermann. O’Reilly hates the fact that so many people on the left boycott him, and he wants to ask them fair questions, challenge them and help contribute to his ratings, just like everyone else in the industry wants their ratings up.
Again, while people like Olbermann only has guests who agrees with him, and they are nothing but a left wing chorus, O’Reilly is frustrated that others get away with crap while he tries to be fair, and he expresses his frustration when he points out that the media (such as NBC, all the others) is overwhelmingly left.
As for ’street creed,’ then how would you explain this site’s regular postings to the huffington post, (a horrendously liberal, conservative bashing website) giving them traffic and clicks that add to their bottom line. Maybe some people want to prove that they are not just right wing or are more fair and balanced than those on the left.
Disagree with O’Reilly, fine. Just don’t lie about him.

Sharpton = community activist.
Hussein = community activist.
Community activist = rabble-rouser.
Rabble-rouser = next POTUS?

He(Mr.O’) continually states he wants to have a reasonable dialogue on race, but when was the last time you saw Larry Elder, Tom Sowell, John McWhorter, or any African-American commentator who isn’t a left-wing racist bomb-thrower on his Show?
oldvannes on June 20, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Nah, he was too busy slamming conservatives who want to drill for oil. That’s how he looks out for you.
Akzed on June 20, 2008 at 12:54 PM
I thought they were “hassling” him because he’s black.

Hassling Al Sharpton has never fed one chile.
Akzed on June 20, 2008 at 12:55 PM
Very True. Now he is ready with red carpet to have Obama on his show. See no one should expose Obama until he appears on his show. Then he will be the stand up guy for BOR.
Anita on June 20, 2008 at 12:57 PM
The IRS is after him because he’s a crook and he’s cheating on his taxes . . . all the rest of his babble is pure BS.
rplat on June 20, 2008 at 1:02 PM
O’Reilly has been kissing Sharpton’s ass for YEARS. Ever since Bill got in trouble for his remark about stolen hub caps at a charity event in NYC he’s been on his knees for Sharpton. He gives him a regular forum and never challenges him. Never. Not even now when he knows the investigation was started by Cuomo who passed it on to the Feds. When he was discussing the aftermath of the Duke case falling apart O’Reilly, while searching for an analogous situation, never brought up the obvious one, Tawana Brawley, with the perpetrator sitting right in front of him.
Listen to Sharpton ask O’Reilly if he has ever shaken him down. Notice how Bill trys to avoid answering and then, when pressed, gives a mumbled, “no” and tries to quickly move on!
You lay down with dogs you wake up with fleas.

No, Al, the IRS is hassling you because you cheat on your taxes.
carbon_footprint on June 20, 2008 at 1:05 PM
Remember how the Black Community forced the Networks to stop playing reruns of the old Amos and Andy TV show. They said the cast re-inforced negative stereotypes of black people.
Well ole race-baiter Al makes George “Kingfish” Stevens and Algonquin J. Calhoun look like role models.

Ah Al, you dumb cluck. The IRS doesn’t hassle honest people with a real job.

Your buddy is a coward and a demagogue. He’s a coward because every chance he’s had to ask tough questions of Liberals he punts. He did it with Michael Moore. He did it with Hillary Clinton. He did it with Rosie O’Donnell. He does it every time. He’s a demagogue because he has no problem lying in order to play people’s emotions and prejudices. He has no problem telling people the Oil companies are conspiring to screw the American people by price fixing. He has no problem making up stories about pink wearing lesbian gangs terrorizing the streets. I have lost whatever respect I had for him a long time ago.
TheBigOldDog on June 20, 2008 at 1:19 PM
Did the right Rev. Al ever pay Pagones that $65,000 he was ordered to for wrongfully accusing him of rapeing Tawanna Brawley?
Lunkinator on June 20, 2008 at 1:19 PM
Does ANYBODY tell the truth? Besides you, I mean?
And _man? When someone is expressing an opinion, it’s kind of, um, stupid, to accuse them of lying.
Oh, and speaking of lying, did you see where John McCain is telling general audiences one thing and Hispanic audiences another? That’s a good example of someone lying.
misterpeasea on June 20, 2008 at 1:19 PM
NO
right2bright on June 20, 2008 at 1:26 PM
And the lie is that he is pandering to the liberal blacks? where, as someone so deftly pointed out, is the conservative blacks on his show (he has one prof on once in a while). Mainly no self respecting (black) conservative will actually go on his show. The other conservatives are mainly people looking to have a show.
When was the last time you saw Michell Malkin on, it was just after he threw her “under the bus”, and sided with Geraldo.
He is so desperate to have Obama on, that it is embarrassing to listen to him beg. And he is deathly afraid of Sharpton, without him, he loses his “street cred” as another observant poster stated.
right2bright on June 20, 2008 at 1:31 PM
If Sharpton is so close to the family of Martin Luther King Jr., and if they think like him as he claims, it is worth a rethink of the true impact MLKjr had on history. Rev Wright, Rev Jackson and Rev Sharpton all appear to be very rich Black men that have made a living disgracing the title of “reverend” and living off the profits of promoting racial hatred..
Hening on June 20, 2008 at 1:40 PM
“Bill is desperate to be black” is not an “Opinion”
wise_man on June 20, 2008 at 1:40 PM
Al just isn’t Al without his trusty megaphone.
pilamaye on June 20, 2008 at 1:43 PM
The last time I saw Michelle Malkin on his show, (where she was a frequent contributor and guest hosted on many, many ocasions) was before she decided to leave O’Reilly because he ’sided with the spitter.’
Laura Inghram has been on his show a lot. O’Reilly wants to have on his show many people who disagree with him as much as he wants intelligent people like Inghram – and formerly Michelle Malkin.
wise_man on June 20, 2008 at 1:43 PM
Sharpton must secretly think the MSM and his “constituency” are a bunch of feckless idiots for propping him up as some kind of “community leader.” What a con artist.
Cicero43 on June 20, 2008 at 1:43 PM
And if you didn’t lie about McCain as much as you do (sprinkled in with the occasional truth) then I wouldn’t have to repeatedly call you out on your slandering and lies.
wise_man on June 20, 2008 at 1:45 PM
Watching the civil rights movement over time is like looking at a chart where the activist species devolve from Martin Luther King down to Jesse Jackson down to Al Sharpton. Somewhere along the line nobility and truth were selected out while extortion, cashing in, and headline-chasing were selected in. MLK took the high road, fought the good fight, and got shot. JJ and Al Sharpton took the low road, made bogus accusations of racism, and got paid. That’s what it’s all about for them.

Geraldo O’Reilly is in the No Spin Zone ?
The Spin stops where ?
Why is it that Bill O will over shout and

Al Sharpton, Pat Buchanan, Gerry Rivera….Fox News generally speaking has gotten worse and worse. They feature Al Sharpton so frequently they might as well give him his own show. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.
Ultimately, they’re just like all the other crappy TV news networks. All they really care about is creating enough moronic I-can’t-look-away-from-the-car-wreck garbage to keep people watching.
Django on June 20, 2008 at 1:48 PM
O’Reilly is just desperate to get Obama to come on his show for the ratings bonanza it’ll bring. Can’t say I blame him since getting ratings is his job description after all. He’s not a public servant or news reporter, he’s a TV entertainer.
Sharpton is on all the time because he brings the entertainment. He’s good at playing his role in the controversy-based clown show. O’R gets ratings and Sharpton gets publicity. Win-win.
I find O’Reilly harder to watch all the time. His formula has really gotten tired and he seems like he’s phoning it in most nights.
Gilda on June 20, 2008 at 1:48 PM
Heh. Still don’t know what slandering means, I see. Keep watching Bill O. He’s sure to bring it up at some point.

Here is why Bill loves having on race baiters:
O’REILLY: … statement. You know, I’m really surprised. You’re usually a straight guy.
BOORTZ: Oh, listen…
O’REILLY: The blacks didn’t have an all-black party, and you know it.
BOORTZ: There is only one place in this country where this whole story is at issue at all. It’s not a controversy in Georgia. It’s not a controversy anywhere but on your show, and one might suspect that you’re running to this to give you some cover maybe for this alleged hubcap incident that happened at your fundraiser.
O’REILLY: Well, let’s — that — you know, you’re a vicious son of a bitch for saying that.
(LAUGHTER by Boortz)
O’REILLY: You are because you know that’s a fallacious story, and I — I’m going to bleep out my remark there, and I apologize for it.
BOORTZ: Why? I wouldn’t bleep it out.
O’REILLY: You’re a vicious guy. No, you’re a vicious guy, you know. You know that’s a fallacious story. You’re throwing that out to be — you know, to smear me because all I object to is this kind of exclusion in a high school, all right, and you will do anything to justify it because you don’t like the story.
BOORTZ: You are — you are looking to establish some sort of a credibility by going after a private party of the type that probably happened in the last couple of weeks in 8,000 high schools around this country.
O’REILLY: It’s unbelievable.
BOORTZ: Why don’t you…
So what was the hubcap incident?
He was referring to a black singing group…
Therefore, he will continue to have race-baiters on the show as penance.

I saw a brief bit of Sharp-tongue’s bit on O’Reilly, and I don’t know what mental illness has beseiged Bill over the past few years.
Has the “No Spin Zone” been abolished???
How does Al get away with statements like: “Extortion, what, ME???” And Bill just let’s it pass…

You, know…this makes realy good sense to me. Bill has already lost his “cred” with me, with all the pandering of his to slimeballs like Sharpton. There is really no good purpose in having Sharpie on except to obtains admissions that can be used in a criminal proceeding…….
