Thanks once again to our generous Hot Air video editor volunteer, we have a chilling new Jihad Watch from Robert Spencer. Robert starkly illustrates
the increasing attempts to restrict free speech about jihad terrorism and, as always, makes the case for vigilance:

Blowback

sadly the Jihad history and awareness is waning, people are putting their heads in the sand. Just the other day I had a politically ignorant, very Christian, and former Republican voter who just got done reading Ron Paul’s book. He has drank all the kool-aide, beyond reason now. buys completely into the “blowback” theory….when/if we get attacked again this crowd will be all over claiming it would’ve never of happened if not for Iraq and the evil “neocons” “lied us to war”……

jp on June 19, 2008 at 2:12 PM

Bush lied, speech died.

Akzed on June 19, 2008 at 2:15 PM

Well done.

Romeo13 on June 19, 2008 at 2:20 PM

Great job!

becki51758 on June 19, 2008 at 2:21 PM

it’s not the Redcoats that are coming, but the Burka-clad Fanatics and their dhimmi tools ( including that guy with the big ears and halo who’s running for POTUS )

one if by land, two if by sea……

Janos Hunyadi on June 19, 2008 at 2:25 PM

JP - it does not take a Christian or a Republican to buy that theory. It was the political and liberal media that started the “lied to us war”…..lie! Ron Paul and his paulnuts, what do you expect? They believe anything RP says.

txstar on June 19, 2008 at 2:25 PM

Thank you Mr. Spencer for your continued vigilance. It’s a sober warning for us all.

txstar on June 19, 2008 at 2:25 PM

yeah, point I was getting at is if they are this gullible at this point in the game its a bad sign. This is one segment that shouldn’t be this gullible and ignorant.

its not all obviously, but there are a portion out there that are pretty theological and get off into tangents, think paul’s idea for govt. is biblical. That said, if Paul didn’t claim to be pro-life they wouldn’t be following him like blind sheep. When he tells them all congress has to do is pass a law and Roe v. Wade doesn’t count anymore and trumps the courts, and that the GOP has misled them. They are buying it.

jp on June 19, 2008 at 2:34 PM

One of the interesting pieces of evidence they let into the HRC thing in Canada?

Some posts from a website in America. So Steyn was being held accountable in Canada, for Free Speech from America…

Wow, just wow…

And we have no one but ourselves to blame… started with Noreiga, and the Governments insistance that American law could be enforced on someone who did not break those laws in America… and continues now with the latest giving of American Rights to people who never stepped foot in America…

Sovereign rights are going out the window… rapidly.

Romeo13 on June 19, 2008 at 2:34 PM

Yes, I understand JP - you are right on! Even I as a Christian can see through that crap baloney!

txstar on June 19, 2008 at 2:47 PM

Well if questioning Islam is considered ‘hate speech’ then the entire Koran must be considered ‘hate speech’ because it specifically and actively questions Christianity and Judaism.

If they want to classify criticism of a religion as ‘hate speech’ they’ll lose the ability to practice theirs.

Obama uses the same tactics. Just a few weeks ago, he was telling the nation that hate crimes against Hispanics doubled last year — presumably committed by all those gun-toting, Bible-clinging rubes who oppose illegal immigration. Of course, there is no evidence that Hispanic hate crimes doubled (or even increased at all) last year, since nationwide crime stats for last year are not even available yet (and for the most recent year for which stats are available, hate crimes against Hispanics increased by around 14%). Just like the UN fellow claiming a vast increase in hate crimes against Florida Muslims, Obama simply fabricates “facts” to support whatever argument he’s making. Sadly, the MSM in this country rarely challenges any of these falsehoods, because it fits their agenda too.

AZCoyote on June 19, 2008 at 3:27 PM

Someone send this to Shep Smith.

Speechless after watching this, Robert. It is exceedingly and chillingly effective. I’m forwarding it on.

Perfect partners in the endeavor to destroy the west - jihadis and the leftists who share their dream of the elimination of personal freedoms, enabled by a press gaggle that can’t believe their buddies would be putting them against the wall to be shot first. . .

This is incredibly powerful video. Everyone reading Hot Air should send this link to their friends.

At first I thought Robert was just standing there all that time.

Seriously though, they want to police your thoughts/intent.

Groups like the Canadian Human Right Commission are only supposed to act against free speech if it relates to anti-Semitism. In that case, it is perfectly acceptable to shut down sites run by Tomasz Winnicki (1) or Ernst Zundel (2). When acting against anti-Semitism B’nai Brith will support the CHRC and even call for a “broader role for the Canadian Human Rights Commission”(3).
The Human Rights Commission needs to learn that their role is only to act against cases of anti-Semitism, and it is perfectly OK to use hate speech against evil religions like Islam.

1) “For first time, court orders end to posting hate on internet,” National Post, 15 Nov 2005, by Janice Tibbets

2) See: “Zundelsite, a revisionist Web site that had been ordered shut down by a Canadian Human Rights Commission tribunal” in “Judge Has Trouble Believing Zundel; Jurist Puts His Doubts on the Court Record,” The Toronto Sun, 30 July 2003, by Philip Lee-Shanok

3) See: “[B’nai Brith] called for a broader role for the Canadian Human Rights Commission and urged human rights education in schools,” The Toronto Star, 16 March 2005, by Graham Fraser

Always the case, but the libtards refuse to learn history. After all, they are the “anointed ones”.

Speaking of hate speech, I’m still utterly unable to get over Obama’s recent words:

Source:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/23/obama-rush-limbaugh-lou-d_n_103315.html

“A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia. There’s a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year,” Obama said. “If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it’s not surprising that would happen.”

The Honorable Prophet, the Enlightened One, the Obamessiah (PBUH), says Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh are responsible for hate crimes against Hispanics. To me, this is flabbergasting. It’s off the charts insane. It’s as if McCain said “you shouldn’t vote for Obama, because he’s a n!gger”. Obama should be raked over the coals for such a statement. Yet there’s nary a peep from the public. To me, it’s Alice in Wonderland. The world truly doesn’t make sense to me.

You presaged my post. Sorry didn’t read all the comments up front. But I’m still totally blown away by what Obama said. it just seems off the charts crazy to me. And this is our next prez? Heaven help us.

Paul-Cincy on June 19, 2008 at 5:26 PM

What I utterly fail to understand is the lack of reaction to this situation by gays and lesbians. Here we are confronted with a bunch of crazies that want to brutally murder us and we spend our time attacking Pat Robertson and the Christian Right? If there were a Human Rights Inquisition in my town, I would join the mosque and collect homophobic statements and go to the Human Rights Inquisition with my data.

I just don’t get it. I just don’t understand how not a single gay person in Canada hasn’t done this already. Why did we even bother with gay rights at this rate?

I’m sorry if I’m ranting, but it’s truly upsetting to see such a massive lack of spine in any community.

thuja on June 19, 2008 at 5:30 PM

At least the Islamics don’t allow anyone to criticize Christians or Jews in the Middle East, right?

jgapinoy on June 19, 2008 at 5:38 PM

so why wasn’t Spencer arrested for being in this? He must be sooo oppressed.

Excellent Robert Spencer, excellent! I am extremely concerned for our country, America, the beautiful and my family and friends. May God Help Us!

txstar on June 19, 2008 at 6:01 PM

I forgot to make clear my absolute commitment to freedom of speech in my post above. The only reason I would approve of gays taking advantage of Human Rights Inquisitions is to show that the Inquisitions make no sense. Since the muslims criticize other people, they should have to receive the hassle that the cause others before the Inquisition.

thuja on June 19, 2008 at 6:03 PM

good youtube entry.

maverick muse on June 19, 2008 at 6:17 PM

In Canada, the public and media are in total agreement that the government should, if not abolish these so-called Human Rights Commissions, at least remove the offending section 13 that these jihadists are using to attack Mark Steyn.
Even the ultra-liberal Toronto Star is editorializing that the government “Curb bigoted acts not free speech”. And trust me, the Toronto Star is no friend of Mark Steyn.
Ezra Levant is up next at the Alberta HRC. You could catch his interview on the Michael Coren Show on YouTube.

jerrytbg on June 19, 2008 at 7:07 PM

Good job Spence. Keep it coming.

Since 9/11, TROP has recorded 11,287 Islamic attacks. I’d have to say, when the Islamofacist murders quit killing people, then, and only then, they may have a case. Until then, we as Americans have First amendment Rights. I’d have to further say, that if CAIR is having trouble coping with that, well, tough shiite! CAIR and their likes, can simply pack it up, and move to a country with better conditions.

As I’ve said before, I want the oil company’s, that are based in the US, to build more refineries as fast as they can. Building nuke plants is great for the long run but we need more energy NOW. Offshore drilling to provide more domestic supply will help some and so will ANWAR but we need more refining capacity. There is enough oil in North America to put this argument to rest if we pump and refine it. We have reached that tipping point and if they, ( powers that be), don’t get their act together we’re in for a rougher ride then any of us can imagine.

That’s right Paul-Cincy.

Obama can talk with Ahmadinejad, but it might be necessary to put Lou Dobbs and Rush in for some hopeful changing education, court-ordered style.

Dramatic and effective video. The Noam Chomsky quote at the end was perfect.

RushBaby on June 19, 2008 at 8:32 PM

Even when he does not say anything, Mr. Spencer manages to speak truth better than anyone else.

If Youtube gives awards for powerful original videos, this should win.

dentalque on June 19, 2008 at 8:49 PM

It’s just too bad this thread didn’t approach a record number of comments. Dr. S, if you’re reading, I think it’s out of respect to you. No one feels good snarking or fighting in your threads.

RushBaby on June 19, 2008 at 11:27 PM

Unfortunately, it’s too late.

Even without hate crimes laws, we are all muzzled by the common consensus that Islam is nothing more than a religion, and that anyone who criticizes Islam and Muslims is a racist, hateful, bigot.

There is no solution because even those who speak out against Islamic supremacism refuse to acknowledge the people responsible for such a philosophy: Muslims.

You cannot criticize Islam without identifying the people who believe in it and work to advance it’s goals. Those people are called Muslims.

Not “peaceful” Muslims, or “traditional” Muslims, or “moderate” Muslims.

Every single one of them is a threat, but the only place I can say such a thing is in an anonymous comment on a blog.

They will win.

Working now.

Excellent post.

Canadian Infidel on June 20, 2008 at 6:08 AM

Firstly, I reject the very concept of “hate crime” but if we are going to have that phrase in our working lexicon let me help with an example definition and example of proper usage:

Definition
To commit an act of murder, assault or theft against someone because of their belief system, Sexual orientation or genetic origin.

usage
Islam itself justifies hate crimes by it’s doctrine.

Islam is a hate crime against it own female followers.

Islam is a hate crime against Atheist, Gentiles and Jews.

Islam is a hate crime against first the world work ethic that has served to separate murdering nomadic sh/theads from productive non-Muslim people that cure, heal, build, and produce.

Affirmative action is a state mandated example of hate crime.

That seems to be what most AMERICANS have forgotten… Freedom of speech is not to protect what I say, and you agree with… It is for the person that I don’t agree with, and yes , that I may even find reprehensible… DON’T MESS WITH THAT CONSTITUTION… It is still the best piece of paper ever put together for ALL MANKIND!!!

Jaynie, I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m having a heck of a time just trying to convince my husband of the threat of Islam, and he’s conservative! He keeps saying, ‘oh, that would never happen in America…’ And the last conversation we had about it turned into an argument when he told me I sounded like I was a racist/bigot. I just can’t back down though, I have to keep trying till something clicks with him. Once he takes up a cause or belief, he’ll champion it, and he’s much better at rational discussion than me.

Does anybody notice that Muslims freely spout genuine hate speech while labeling as hate speech any criticism of the same? Why aren’t Muslim haters hauled up before these hate speech courts?

I read McLean’s liveblog of the “trial”. Has a decision been handed down yet?

jaime on June 20, 2008 at 7:19 PM

A decade ago there was a movement called “Maine Won’t Discriminate”. I saw bumper stickers for it outside of Maine more than in. It was part of an attempt to effect special rights for homosexuals. Not discriminating sounded good, but in fact there were zero episodes of anyone in Maine discriminating against the hiring or renting to homosexuals. The law passed, and then was reversed by efforts of “hateful” Christian groups that exposed the lies. Still, every public school in the area has a day of silence to honor homosexuality and the poor (handful of) people that suffer from the bigotry against it.

Islam has taken a page from this very clever tactic. Soon there will be a day of silence, or even prayer (as long as it isn’t to the God of the Christian or Jew) in public schools. Those very people, who wish to take your rights and enslave the land of the free are not victims. They are the enemy of liberty and justice. They can’t get their way by using the truth and must silence those who would reveal it.

Bravo, Robert Spencer.

Hening on June 21, 2008 at 10:06 AM

Spencer has fogotten more about Islam than anyone here will ever know.

Kudos and thank you, Robert.
