My interest in her dwindles by the day, but with blogworthy news slowed to a crawl I’m forced to subject you to some video highlights. The boss and Lynn Sweet of the Sun-Times each roused themselves to liveblog it so that declarations like, I kid you not, “It’s fun to look pretty!” might be preserved for posterity. Below, in sequence, MO affirms her pride; helps Sherri Shepherd with the definition of the word “empathetic;” displays some bipartisan sweetness towards Laura Bush; and does her best not to grimace as Whoopi launches into a commentary that would end the career of anyone who didn’t share her particular blend of Absolute Moral Authority. Enjoy.

Michelle Obama has hatred for America coming out of every belligerent pore of her body. She will hate everything about America, until it is changed. Until it is transformed – into the cesspool that Socialism always creates. A country without incentive. A country without hope for a better life. A country where the People are served by the State and, in return, serve and answer to the State.

You don’t have to watch the video to know what was said, or thought. I didn’t watch it, either. But, I know. Just like I know that, eventually, a pile of dog excrement will draw flies. It’s the same with The View. And, it’s the same with Michelle Obama and Barack Obama. I know that her every thought holds America in contempt, and that his every thought is a Socialist “Utopia” in America.

Well from those clips I would say she did a nice job. I don’t know this woman, so I don’t know what’s in her heart — I’ve certainly seen and heard some not-so-great things associated with her, but this was a refreshing side of her, I thought.
I did think Whoopi’s comments about black women on television were a little over the top, although when she mentioned the part about these black women on television being incapable of speaking in complete sentences, I immediately thought of Maxine Waters.

Not exactly hard hitting questions but, come on now, she is auditioning for first lady, not VP. I thought she handled herself very well. Now we’ll just see how long this demeanor persists. But again, had this been my first impression of a person, and I had no prior knowlege of her particular politics, I would walk away with a good feeling about her.

I agree, it’s about time we made this election about the candidates’ wives. The other issues really aren’t all that important. At the end of the day, it’s about Cindy and Michelle.
I propose that the wives hold a series of debates and town hall meetings to find out their plans for conducting the office of the First Lady. These should appear on prime time television and be moderated by the great journalists of our time.

Also, not to you BD, but for the general audience, I never had fruit in winter (beyond a few small/old apples, at best), ballet lessons, student loans or trust funds. In fact, I never, ever had any pocket money as a kid. When I first found out in America that kids get such, I was astounded. I’m still floored by it.
Plus, it would be awing to all of you to see my abode from childhood, but I have to keep some anonymity, for self-protection. But that would tell you myriad about overcoming, real overcoming, not the like of Michelle. Alas, no moping here, just work, persistence, attitude and gratitude for all opportunities, the good and the ugly. Learned from all of them.

The View is an ongoing rebuttal to the proposition that women are the intellectual equals of men. The cast of The View makes dirt look smart. Even the conservative, Elizabeth, sounds like a sophomore who feels more than knows her politics. And millions of women viewers look up to these pinheads as geniuses.

I’ll repeat what I said on another thread. Its still to racial. I come to this conclusion based on Whoopie Goldbergs big mouth. She is bringing up shades of black one being blacker than another. Oh so is Obama black enough. I mean if I vote for him did I vote for a black guy? huh WHoopie? Well guess what, I didn’t think of race in considering Mr. Obama, but I did today thanks to Whoopie. So… Since this is a racial issue still and it will be power to blacks bla bla bla, well I am not power or any race. I want the right person in the damn seat, not the right color person. SO Whoopie shut your yap. Your comments on black power today causes me to think blacks aren’t thinking as equals yet, hence my vote comes off the Obama tally until this clears up.

Don’t know for sure about the OB’s, but in most families it’s usually the Mom who selects the church and enforces church-going. Based on that assumption, and the fact that she self-identifies as a “strong woman”, Michelle must have agreed with Rev. Wright through those 20-odd years of attendance else she would have moved the family on.
If anything, she may be more of a disciple of the Thomas Cone BLT mindset than Obama. I hope that the general population doesn’t buy this “make-over” crap. She is who she was and a new coat of paint doesn’t cover up her warts. She will help Obama most by keeping a low profile.
Interesting comment, fossten. This is something that I’ve been noticing for some time. In fact, often enough to predict when the Chief of Police, or the Judge, or the doctor, head of surgery, etc. is likely to be a black. And you’re right, a judge is most likely to be a black woman. Blacks are disproportionately cast in those positions in late-model TV shows and movies. Disproportionality (whew) is also rampant in recently-produced TV commercials. Now, I don’t have a real problem with that except when black folks start spouting the tired old lament that there aren’t enough blacks in [fill in the blank]. They are now overrepresented in many areas.
