This is the way the left/MSM will compartmentalize and make somewhat irrelevant conservative blogs. As they’ve done w/conservative talk radio. And its working, to some extent… Its the same old thesis/anti-thesis tactic. DD

I blame the Republican Party for contributing to the “compartmentalization” and making conservative blogs “somewhat irrelevant” in comparison to the big left blogs.

While democratic politicians POSTED and contributed diaries to dkos and other leftwing blogs, Republican tech-dinosaurs ignored and in some cases, shunned the very blogs that could help them. Even now, they still haven’t “got” with the program.

They invite people to set up blogs but think that their only purpose is for daily fund-raising. What they don’t understand is how the dynamics of leftwing blog fundraising works. FIRST you attract a large number of people who are interested in posting/blogging/commenting/ at your blog on a regular basis-however you set it up– You set up an online community.

THEN you talk about donations.

They keep treating blogging like it’s some sort of political dinner,(with people who already know each other) shell out thousands, and then get to spend a few hours eating a mediocre meal. They don’t “get” the idea of a how a blogging community develops, and the power it can provide to a candidate.

If they don’t start catching on soon– they are going to be so far behind the democrats in impacting the blogosphere, and the damage will be so deep,that it will take a decade to recover. In particular, the 18-25 crowd, will lock permanently into in leftwing sites and won’t bother to pay attention to anything from conservative bloggers.

After all, they certainly have benefited from mining stories from the conservative blogs–for which, they often fail to properly credit the blogger whose work, Fox “borrows”

If they can make the smear stick– it will help silence a major source of criticism of Obama and the democrats.

It should be noted that when you are as far to the left as Senator Obama is, a Clinton supporter would be considered conservative.
