Didn't the Supreme Court Five just decide that the attack on the Pentagon (and on NYC and Pennsylvania on 9/11) was not an act of "war", and that the 19 foreign commandos who entered the country were not an "invasion", therefore this flag is essentially a meaningless remnant of a (mostly-closed) criminal investigation?

These 5 power-exceeding imbeciles spat on the flag.

And all it stands for.

Insomniac go-to-sleep prayer -- please, please no one send Shep or Geraldo a plane ticket to anywhere within a three state radius of Cedar Rapids or the Des Moines levee failure.

The US flag flys in front of my house 365 days a year. Every day is flag day at my house.

That used to be so for me too - then came the Reid-Pelosi Congress.
So holidays only for me now.
But I call a whole lot of days holidays.
I damned sure will not let the Feds dictate to me what is / is not a holiday.
It looks like the muggy weather will break Tuesday or Wednesday. That will qualify as a holiday for sure.

In light of 9/11, I'd like to remind people of (or introduce them to) the third verse of The Star-Spangled Banner:

Oh where is that band
Who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country would leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
And nothing could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Today I took Mrs.737 and BabyGirl737 into the birthplace of American Representative Republicanism - Philadelphia, where, as DerK said, *every* day is Flag Day.

Happy B-Day U.S Army, from a former Zoomie!

PS, what makes this Wolfeboro story even worse is that the town is the home of a great museum dedicated to World War II.

I did a posting over at Power Line earlier this week about a recent story from here in New Hampshire-in the town of Wolfeboro, which is a resort town on the eastern side of Lake Winnipesaukee, a local resident after 9/11 donated some cash to fly numerous American flags along the town's Main Street. A local business critter took offense:

from Monday June 9th:

“WOLFEBORO, N.H.—A Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, businessman is dropping a lawsuit against the town over a downtown display of American flags.

Claude Roessiger’s lawyer says he will notify the Carroll County Superior Court on Monday that Roessiger is dropping the lawsuit.

The town flies about 100 U.S. flags from downtown utility poles as a way to show support for American troops. But Roessiger argued the Bush administration’s foreign policy has turned the flag into a symbol of what he calls “in-your-face, with-me-or-against-me patriotism.”

He had called the display excessive, unusual and unlawful.”

Here are my PL posts:

Last night my son and his girl friend came by and gave me a father's day present. He made me very proud; it was a three by five foot U.S. flag.
