Aww: Meghan McCain becomes a Republican for Father’s Day
posted at 12:05 pm on June 13, 2008 by Allahpundit
Sweet. Insert hacky joke about dad hopefully following suit one of these days here.
As some of you may know, I have been registered as an Independent since I was 18 years old. However, after careful thought and consideration, I recently decided to change my political party affiliation. This morning, I went to the State Capitol Executive Building in Phoenix with Mom and re-registered as a Republican. I did this as a symbol of my commitment to my dad and to represent the faith I have in his ability to be an effective leader for our country and to grow and strengthen the Republican party when he is elected President of the United States. Happy Father’s Day, Dad!
Please do e-mail me if you catch any of Dick Durbin’s nutroots constituents confining themselves to the hottest circle of hell over this. Meanwhile, scroll down at the link for loads of candids from the trail, although you’ll have to go to page two for the close-up of Bobby Jindal’s penny loafers. Note to Meggy Mac: Add permalinks.

Hmm, she is pretty good looking.
Am I allowed to say that these days?
Bishop on June 13, 2008 at 12:09 PM
Didn’t she have the hots for Obama?
carbon_footprint on June 13, 2008 at 12:10 PM
Did that penny in the loafers come from a demon he exorcised?
lorien1973 on June 13, 2008 at 12:12 PM
She is very good looking, and friendly.
When I met her dad on the campaign trail with another Navy guy we got a hug and she actually talked to us as well.
Squid Shark on June 13, 2008 at 12:13 PM
Yeah. One can only hope. Then again, maybe the tooth fairy and the easter bunny might actually be real.
wise_man on June 13, 2008 at 12:14 PM
She’s cute!
JeffreyLloyd on June 13, 2008 at 12:14 PM
Penny loafers? Wow…I haven’t seen those in forever. I need to get out more.
I’m surprised they eat at “regular” places. Too easy for a libtard to try some shenanigans if you ask me. I wouldn’t put it past them at all.
SouthernGent on June 13, 2008 at 12:16 PM
Obama’s daughters will be registered Dem by tonight.
(In Chicago, anything goes.)
profitsbeard on June 13, 2008 at 12:16 PM
Meghan’s got a posse.
Rhinoboy on June 13, 2008 at 12:18 PM
Looks like you have to wait for the new postings to move it into the archives (example, the Click here for previous postings. link at the bottom of the page, just below the ‘Officer McNutt’ photo.)
wise_man on June 13, 2008 at 12:18 PM
Meggy Mac?
RushBaby on June 13, 2008 at 12:18 PM
For all the conservative bitching and moaning, I think this says a lot about McCain as a father and a man, to have his daughter’s respect and affection.
Mommynator on June 13, 2008 at 12:19 PM
Ummmmmm….who cares.
moonsbreath on June 13, 2008 at 12:20 PM
What, They aren’t? I thought they were, considering all the new things The Obamassiah wants the federal government to do for us come January.

wise_man on June 13, 2008 at 12:21 PM
That was Giuliani’s daughter.
doodleduh on June 13, 2008 at 12:22 PM
Is she single? I hear there is a possibility she may come into some coinage in the future.
cntrlfrk on June 13, 2008 at 12:23 PM
Translation: I did this because my dad’s handlers warned me that this would become an issue down the line.
highhopes on June 13, 2008 at 12:25 PM
OT….
Why isn’t Barry Skywalker receding the waters yet?
moonsbreath on June 13, 2008 at 12:26 PM
She is still an Obamican.
Valiant on June 13, 2008 at 12:26 PM
You know, thats just exactly what the democrats are saying over at the liberal blogs, highhopes. It’s amazing. You are so perceptive!!! Good for you, highhopes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn’t all women?
carbon_footprint on June 13, 2008 at 12:43 PM
Does anyone think she wrote that herself?
Plus, she didn’t say she was actually going to vote for her dad.
BigD on June 13, 2008 at 12:51 PM
Does anyone think that she didn’t write that herself? Cause, you know, she’s probably too stupid to be able to write that all on her own, right BigD? I mean, come on – a 2007 Columbia University graduate? I doubt that she could form a complete sentence in the english language, right BigD?
Plus, some people see the world through a glass is half empty lens throughout their entire life.
wise_man on June 13, 2008 at 12:57 PM
Posse!
I said she has a posse!
Minds out of the gutter, people! ;)
Rhinoboy on June 13, 2008 at 12:57 PM
I’m sorry, this story should have a Barf alert to go with it. Meghan McCain looks like a tart and so does her mother.
BigD on June 13, 2008 at 12:58 PM
Yeah, right, Meghan didn’t have an editor.
BigD on June 13, 2008 at 1:00 PM
Hm, get your mind out of the gutter sir! I MEANT POSSE as in all women must have several friends with them when they do things. haha
; )
carbon_footprint on June 13, 2008 at 1:00 PM
One of the picture captions: “Check out the awesome PEZ dispenser collection in the background.”
Exactly how old is she?
Rod on June 13, 2008 at 1:02 PM
Good Lord, did I say or insinuate she was stupid? I don’t think so. Although I will say I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock in a degree from Columbia given their affection for Ahmadinejad and the antics of their journalism school.
And for the record, my glass is quite full, and I have 20/10 vision.
BigD on June 13, 2008 at 1:07 PM
Seriously, anyone know why she was registered IND before today? I’m a little concerned that the daughter of the GOP nominee for POTUS didn’t believe in the party her father is representing. To me, that seems to say something about McCain’s ability to convince people that conservatism is the right direction for the country (and no comments about McCain not being very conservative…)
psrch on June 13, 2008 at 1:07 PM
Was it mother and daughter dress alike day?
bopbottle on June 13, 2008 at 1:08 PM
I stopped there.
Nichevo on June 13, 2008 at 1:13 PM
I suppose you prefer you women FLDS-style
Squid Shark on June 13, 2008 at 1:13 PM
Party affiliation mattered in the primary season, depending on if it is open or not. Anybody can vote in the general election, what does it matter now?
This is not on the scale of MO being proud of America for the first time since her hubby ran, but a similar gimmick trick, to generate a none-news.
/maybe I should change to sir snaps-alot
Sir Napsalot on June 13, 2008 at 1:14 PM
I guess because Ron Reagan is a raging lib that Reagan could never convince anyone to vote for him.
Oh, wait…
Squid Shark on June 13, 2008 at 1:15 PM
Don’t understand the comment. What is FLDS? I am a 45 year-old happily married woman so I guess your comment is wrong, but I can’t say as I am obviously not hip enough.
BigD on June 13, 2008 at 1:16 PM
Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints. The Ranch in Texas. 400+ kids. Warren Jeffs. Anyone? Beuller?
Squid Shark on June 13, 2008 at 1:19 PM
You are entirely correct, and I stand chastised. I didn’t mean to impugn your character, and for that, I’m sorry.
On that, I’d like to correct my original post:
Meghan’s got
a possegigantic boobs.Rhinoboy on June 13, 2008 at 1:29 PM
Methinks BigD doth protest too much.
After all, how can anyone as ‘happy and fulfilled” as she says she is be so bitter?
Nahanni on June 13, 2008 at 1:43 PM
Two of Reagan’s kids were libs.
amerpundit on June 13, 2008 at 1:50 PM
I think she is very charming and adorable.

Exhibit A: The New York Times.
aengus on June 13, 2008 at 1:54 PM
You people are weird. I am happy. I am not FLDS. I only pointed out that Meghan looks like Lindsay Lohan (actually I said she looks like a tart — same thing).
BigD on June 13, 2008 at 2:27 PM
Republican girls are so much better looking. Score another one for the GOP.
CP on June 13, 2008 at 2:33 PM
I was living in Texas without air conditioning. It was hot. On TV there was a commercial for Sonic’s cherry limeade. Literally, before the commercial was over, I grabbed my keys and was heading out the door to the nearest Sonic. That was the single most effective commercial I had ever seen — a true hypodermic needle effect.
tommylotto on June 13, 2008 at 2:35 PM
We don’t need another Republican joining for show. We need people of principle.
Laura Ingraham for VP.
pecan pie on June 13, 2008 at 3:07 PM
John McCain ain’t Ronald Reagan. Not by miles, and miles, and miles. Reagan wasn’t called the Great Communicator for nothing.
psrch on June 13, 2008 at 3:59 PM
Sweet and so excellent, another Republican swells the
ranks of the right, and another Maverick, and two days
before Fathers Day!
Daddy,John McCain must be very proud!

I realize a parent has no control over their adult children, but c’mon…she should atleast know what that was being a warrior’s kid and terrorism being the forefront of our fight today. We are fighting the war on terror and the republican running mate’s kid is wearing a sign of Palestinian terrorism. Dandy.
diaphanous on June 13, 2008 at 7:14 PM
Good for her!!
If we could get people to read Churchill’s “The Gathering Storm”(1 of a 6 part series) they would all understand how appeasement and bowing down to the UN,Eu is such a mistake.
We have achieved and accomplished much more confronting Islamic terrorism in the last 7 years than we would have appeasing it.
By committing herself a Republican, she is rejecting appeasement, thus putting herself on the path to promoting
Freedom.
Baxter Greene on June 13, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Good for her. I felt really patriotic registering Republican.
I registered to vote for the first time in my life in the last Presidential election because I could not fathom Kerry as POTUS.
