I doubt Barry would think events have proven him wrong. He thinks the war is a bad thing and since things are going well for the US he probably now thinks of it as a really bad thing. He’s never done anything to show he wants what is best for America.

If he’s so smart, why does he still act so surprised whenever anyone questions his actions? Most people would learn after 2 or 3 reverses. His behavior argues for an IQ in the mid to upper eighties.

Conservatives and even independents may be afraid of what Obama might do, and some of his comments off teleprompter are, to be kind, muddled, but his personality isn’t threatening. Jeremiah Wright, yes, and even Michelle O to a certain extent; but Barack’s just there, not overbearing and trying to avoid taking a side on a controversial issue for as long as possible. That’s why he gets into problems like the Johnson kerfuffle, and why as a candidate, and as president, he is and would be so easy for the more forceful people he brings into his inner circle to roll him on one issue or another.

The big media can try to portray him as a strong leader as much as possible, but the milquetoast personality that could let him get elected president would also be horrible to have as president, since he shuns reacting to any crisis unless and only until it threatens his own political future.

Obama is clearly the most intelligent candidate of either party since Bill Clinton. But he can outsmart himself if he goes on expecting the media and the public to accept just about any explanation he gives.

How did Hussein get the reputation for being smart? What has he done as evidence of his allegedly high intelligence? He’s inept and hangs around with commies and Nation of Islam types. That makes him smart? Were the press not in his pocket as a result of his 2004 DNC speech (which was one long vapid liberal cliche), we would never have heard of him since.

Amen to that. As much as I dislike John McCain, the thought of a far-left Marxist disaster like Obama appointing 2 or 3 more like-minded Supreme Court justices makes my blood run cold.

As to Obama’s supposed superior intelligence, I’d like to hear some proof of it. He graduated from Ivy League schools? So did a lot of people, including George W. Bush. He was Editor of the Harvard Law Review? Yes, chosen as a compromise candidate after 19 rounds of balloting (hardly an overwhelming acknowledgement of his superior skills or intelligence). Or are we supposed to accept that Obama is so vastly intelligent just because he tells us that he is? Sorry, I’m not buying it. I’ve seen many examples of Obama’s massive arrogance, but none of his alleged intelligence.

Me, too. Sadly, I do beleive my children will NEVER know the America I grew up in.

It even has its own joke: Obama says, “[Embarrassment] is not the person I thought I knew.”

Which is why he’s so dangerous. After Iran nukes Tel Aviv is he going to say “Mahmood is not the person I thought I knew”? Probably.

I challenge this construct, as well. Obama is verbally glib. If this evaluation passes for intelligence when his logic goes unexamined and the emptiness of his rhetoric is accepted as depth, then the media/pundocracy have fallen asleep.

Obama does not have judgment, nor does he have maturity. One of the first rules for the latter is the understanding of the relationship between choice and consequence and accepting responsibility for making those choices.

That is the ultimate danger of the third party…Perot voters thought they were doing such a service. One of my friends was convinced it would “send a message” to the Republicans…well we just received the P.S. of the message.

I agree. My dear mum used to wax eloquent about how smart the clintons were, but I was never impressed. I graduated from an elite university too, and was surrounded by people way smarter than those supposedly “smart” people every day of the week.

I’m not impressed with smart–heck, I’m darned smart myself, BFD. I’m impressed with the good that you do with what God gave ya, no matter how many or few neurons are connecting in your cranium. I’m impressed with how you conduct your life, how you treat your spouse, how you raise your kids. Are you a honorable person? Ethical? Self-reliant? Trustworthy?

Any one of those means a whole lot more than being “smart.”
