Video: Olbermann rips Couric for complaining about colleague’s bias towards Obama

Skip ahead to halfway through or else you’ll have to endure an especially tedious few minutes of Murrow reading from his enemies list, punctuated naturally with Bill O’Reilly being named one of the worst people in the world for having a silly book title. How egregious is this? Egregious enough to precipitate a minor yet welcome “I never realized he was this bad” lefty blog backlash, the star entry of which is HuffPo’s Rachel Sklar gawking at the spectacle of unfair coverage of Hillary being dismissed as “nonsense” on, of all places, MSNBC. I’m less amused by that than by the thrust of Olby’s defense of Lee Cowan, the reporter taken to task by Couric for admitting that it’s hard to stay objective in covering Obama. It’s only by acknowledging the temptation towards bias, our man suggests, that the true pros are able to rise above it and “separat[e] the hype from the news” — a statement so precious in its obliviousness to his own M.O. that I half-believe he’s joking. If, as he claims, Couric is wrong to confuse “commentators” with reporters, we know just the guy to blame for having blurred the two roles, don’t we?
He’s back tonight, incidentally, with a Speshul Komment about McCain’s Iraq comments that’s sure to feature the balletic grimacing and run-on sentences that say Anger! like no one else can. Exit request: Read this. You won’t regret it.

This guy is such a jerk. He is so insecure that he has to berate his colleagues so he could garner some attention to his lackluster show. His limitations of journalistic skills adheres him to insult people who are actually good in their craft. Of course Soros would never let his “watchdog” go out. He loves this junk.

Red on red. Heh.
Wethal on June 12, 2008 at 6:40 PM
this blog has been up for about 5 minutes and not a single comment on it…looks like nobody cares about olbermann anymore….I wonder why…
SoCalInfidel on June 12, 2008 at 6:41 PM
oops…there they are
SoCalInfidel on June 12, 2008 at 6:41 PM
Since there will probably be some vacancies at Gitmo, can we send this slimeball down there?
Nineball on June 12, 2008 at 6:42 PM
I’d give the family farm for the opp to BUMP into Olby.
THE CHOSEN ONE on June 12, 2008 at 6:44 PM
I always knew Katie Couric was a right wing extremist!!!
lol @ Olbermann and his 3 viewers.
bigbeas on June 12, 2008 at 6:44 PM
I was recently told that Olberbitch (and Bill Moyers) were two of the most honest journalists out there. It was also said by that person that Olberbitch was right to call Michelle Malkin a facist.
aikidoka on June 12, 2008 at 6:44 PM
Dork … this guy will sell his mother given the opportunity. Probably fantasizes about being a KGB officer.
darwin on June 12, 2008 at 6:45 PM
It takes a minute to watch the video and come up with a wittier comment than “first!” hahahaha
bigbeas on June 12, 2008 at 6:45 PM
Olbermann is a racist.
VolMagic on June 12, 2008 at 6:47 PM
I would demand that KO name me the “Worst Person in the World”.
If I cared.
aunursa on June 12, 2008 at 6:48 PM
Oh that’s rich Olby. Rich indeed.
SouthernDem on June 12, 2008 at 6:49 PM
Can we start a betting pool on when Olby is fired? I pick tomorrow…
Surely MSNBC realizes this bozo is going to implode! It seems like him turning cannibal by attacking Couric all the while posting on his Blog about Obama’s halo must be close to the last straw?
IntheNet on June 12, 2008 at 6:49 PM
Lavender necktie. Hmm. Well, Hannity wears a pink one. I would not wear either. Seems a little…uh…
Best thing to do with that necktie would be to let Julie Banderas make a bikini out of it.

If I didn’t know better, I’d think this was a Colbert-type parody of a real left wing program. He’s a parody of himself.
Well, anyway, Mugabe is burning people to death, and he thinks Doocey, O’Reilly and Couric are the worst people in the world. And it’s all personal spite too, making it all the more pathetic. He’s mad at Doocey because Doocey called him out over the attack on his kid, he just hates O’Reilley, so attacks him over a silly book title, and then there’s Couric who has the nerve to take note of the blatant pro-Obama bias – drawing a big old paranoid overreaction. What a clown.

The guy is going way too far — and has gone too far on other occasions…when will he finally get the boot for professional misconduct and just plain old idiocy?
Richard Romano on June 12, 2008 at 6:52 PM
Yeah, I just love Olby lecturing people on taking things out of context…don’t you?
malan89 on June 12, 2008 at 6:52 PM
When his ratings start tanking (even more than they are now).
malan89 on June 12, 2008 at 6:53 PM
I’m getting sick and tired of these jerks, on both sides, continue to place themselves as the story. O’Reilly, Olberman, Rush, and Hannity are the worst. But that’s just the way it is these days; anything for ratings and selling books.
sandman on June 12, 2008 at 6:55 PM
Olberman’s a femiphobic sexist.
petefrt on June 12, 2008 at 6:56 PM
And the media wonders why they are held in such low esteem.
Keith Olbermann is a overgrown juvenile who uses his pretend news show as a platform to disseminate whatever passing thought comes into his head. All with funny voices, name calling, and plagiarizing from liberal websites.
I’m not exactly sure what one calls this; but news reporting isn’t it.
Yep, I know; this is way too much attention for this person.
SteveMG on June 12, 2008 at 7:01 PM
O/T: How about an open thread for the McCain townhall meeting?
VolMagic on June 12, 2008 at 7:02 PM
Nope. . . I still refuse to watch this dork.
But I was tempted.
Texyank on June 12, 2008 at 7:12 PM
I hope he really pisses off someone high up in the liberal media someday (maybe Couric is it). Olby, like Hillary will learn what it is like to be a Republican. That will be the real poetic justice.
RobCon on June 12, 2008 at 7:29 PM
Katie has done been bitch slapped.
JonRoss on June 12, 2008 at 7:34 PM
A person admits that it’s “hard to stay objective when covering Obama”. Keith then defends that person by saying that he’s “utterly objective”. I guess that Olby Logic for ya.
SoulGlo on June 12, 2008 at 7:38 PM
I tried this really good wine the other day…and I’m usually a beer drinker. It’s a French Bordeax, Chateau d’Arcinis (2004). I’m really surprised, because it’s a red, although it’s not dry at all and isn’t sweet either.
Asher on June 12, 2008 at 7:43 PM
Interesting argument. The reporter in question wasn’t saying he found it hard to be objective. He actually said that the Obama campaign is so charismatic that he has to try even harder to report without bias! (huh?!) So, basically what Couric said was 100% accurate, and Olby is too much of a D-bag to just be honest about it? For accurately reporting the actual facts, you are the world’s worst person! (out of his flippin’ mind)

Stress tip for Club Olby-wan – Whenever I get angry, I sometimes go for a walk down by the meadow and whistle a jaunty tune. Feel free to use this tip.

I regret it. (anytime I have to see that ugly POS I regret it).

As pathetic as Olby is…I did LOL at his comment about Bill O’s book being ‘a fresh bowl of something’.

Nice plug there at the end for his lord and master Obama. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep this guy on he will in the end kill Obamas chances.

Message to Obama’s Information Minister: leave Katie Couric alone, you a-hole.
indythinker on June 13, 2008 at 12:44 AM
He’s not going to get fired. He’s the most popular guy they’ve got. Without his three viewers there’d be no point in firing up their transmitter, now would there.

While in Denver a couple weeks ago, I was skipping through the channels at the hotel I was staying at, and came across Olby doing his usual and customary mental breakdown on TV. I had just eaten, and the heaves started. It was a battle to keep from blowing my Subway BMT (toasted with extra peppers) across the room before I could grapple the remote in my hand and change the channel to anything ANYTHING but that self important schmoe.
I made it, and my angst was soothed by immediately hitting a “Girls gone Wild” commercial.
Whew!

Thank God you made it. What a waste of a perfectly toasted sub that would have been. ( and in my case, washed down with a 6 pack of an ice cold beverage, of the cerveza kind)
Don’t ever think of resting your eye on that Olberdouche again!
gzelmiami on June 13, 2008 at 3:29 AM
If you can stomach some hard facts about this loon, read these links…

http://www.time-blog.com/tuned_in/2008/05/keith_olbermann_blows_last_rem.html
This guy has a long history of getting “let go” (here in Montana we call this lil dynamic “getting fired!”) for his temper attacks, as well as his constant need to blame America for all things bad. This guy is human waste with a voice.
How’s you like to live in this guys body for one day? Talk about torture!
Keemo on June 13, 2008 at 8:15 AM
If Couric had bothered to examine the context of that remark
This coming from a man who ends his show saying, “And that’s it for this day, the XXXth day since the declaration of “mission accomplished” in Iraq.”
Willful misrepresentation.
