Come home to Chicago …

Where should the DNC go now that they have a nominee? Apparently they have decided that Chicago feels more like home, as the Democrats hope to consolidate efforts between the DNC and the Barack Obama campaign. Does it bother them that the Beltway looks clean in comparison?
In a major shakeup at the Democratic National Committee — and a departure from tradition — large parts of the committee’s operations are relocating to Chicago to be fully integrated with the Obama campaign.
The DNC’s political department, housed in Washington, D.C., will be dramatically rebuilt, with staffers offered a choice of moving to Chicago, joining state operations, or staying in Washington, DNC spokeswoman Karen Finney said.
But the power will clearly be shifting to a centralized Chicago hub.
Of course, Democrats may feel that Chicago’s style of politics suits them much better than DC. With the Rezko trial showing massive corruption in state politics, the Republicans might think so as well.
Will Governor Rod Blagojevich get indicted while the Democrats run their 2008 campaign? That should make for a great environment for hope and change.

You need to make it easy for Bill Ayres to consult for the DNC…

Wow. Obama’s starting to scare the hell out of me.

Hopefully this will piss off the Washington Post. DC is a company town, and the Post never forgets that - maybe they will have more even-handed coverage of the presidential campaign.

How can you announce a dramatic move and then say it’s okay if anybody wants to stay… What if they all decide to stay?
Doesn’t it also seem odd that the party is now a subsidiary of Obama instead of the other way around?

Obama is a Chicago politician. He shouldn’t be let out on mainstream America. Kansas City was bad for a long time but the people in Chicago are worse and last longer.

The campaign’s been run from chicago from the start, so this keeps the puppet strings easier to handle. and everybody gets to be at the right church on sunday

The Midway in Hyde Park will replace the Mall in DC, and the University of Chicago (next to the Midway) will receive a two billion earmark to move somewhere else, so the former university buildings can be used by the Obama Administration.

Comrade Obama wants to hide the culture of corruption that his campaign has become, in Chicago’s corrupt Democrat machine. I hope they order enough Teleprompters.

Or will the crooks keep rolling over on each other? I think we have not scratched the surface of barry’s sleaziness and hillary knows it. She is sitting at home with her feet up and a nice cocktail waiting for the convention. Remember, superdelegates put barry over the top and thier vote does not count until they actually cast it. I hope the mccain strategists are still preparing for the possibility of having to run against hillary.

Now why would Obama do a thing like that?
1. To distance the DNC from the Clintons?
2. To shelter the DNC from direct access and closer investigative scrutiny in D.C.?

I can see it now: Chicago will be renamed Obamagrad.
Rezko will be pardoned immediately and be named Commerce Secretary. Ayers will be named Secretary of (RE) Education.
Dohrn will be Director of the FBI and Jerry Wright will become the Head of the New Department of Enlightenment.

Pardon my ignorance, but I thought that campaign finance laws, especially under McCain-Feingold, required the presidential campaign and the national committee to at least appear separate.

Maybe they can all buy new homes for those who need to transfer from DC. Then when Obama loses, they can all run from their mortgages since they lost their jobs. Congress will ignore it.
