Captain Louis Renault Award Winner: Joe Scarborough
posted at 9:14 am on June 12, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
Here’s a rarity: an MS-NBC anchor criticizing Barack Obama. Joe Scarborough can’t believe his ears when he discovers that the Obama campaign went miles out of their way in clipping three words from a sentence spoken by John McCain to attack him on Iraq. Scarborough appears to have a Road to Damascus moment this morning about the Obamessiah:
It’s hard to keep from laughing when Scarborough vents his spleen at finding out that Obama is actually a politician. What did he think Obama was? Oh, wait, of course — he thought Obama was the Golden Child, about to lead us to a thousand years of enlightenment.
For this display of ridiculous disillusionment, for his shock, shock! that Barack Obama is nothing more than a politician, Joe Scarborough wins the coveted Captain Louis Renault award. Too bad the rest of his network has yet to qualify.

Think Joe gets taken to the woodshed today by his MSNBC bosses for his heresy? They might even threaten him with WPIW status if he’s not careful.

“Too bad the rest of his network has yet to qualify.”
Ed, Please let us all know (in advance) when Chris Matthews “qualifies”. I want to make sure I’m inside under cover when the sky begins to fall.

Hey Joe, looks like you overlook this well known operation.

Ever notice that Mika Brzezinski is absolutely unable to ever shut up and be quiet?
I mean, not even for 5 seconds.
She is incessantly making comments and noises. It is incredibly annoying.

MAybe Sissy Matthews will stop by and share his leg.

Scarborough is a racist!

If he doesn’t get taken to the woodshed and reeducated, Keith Olbermann will threaten to quit.

How can an empty suit be a politician?
The Dems must be proud of their accomplishment.

I’m willing to bet it’s more akin to a senior citizen suffering from dementia rather than a conversion..
He’s having a good day, that’s all.. after tomorrow, things will be hazing for him and he’ll see the need for ‘the lightworker’..

Scarborough, the worst person of the day.

Joe Scarborough certainly isn’t helping Michelle’s children. But don’t worry, come January 23 Joe will
be thrown into the gulagbe given time to reflect upon hisheresycomments.rbj on June 12, 2008 at 9:33 AM
After sustaining some withering attacks by McCain on national security, Obama was denounced by another elder statesman, who, after his distinguished military career ended abruptly in the late sixties, answered history’s call and became a politician:
“The statements of …Obama on Jerusalem… show that he either ignores international politics and did not study the Middle East conflict or that it is a campaign lie”
“We fear that Obama will feel that, because he is black with an inferiority complex, this will make him behave worse than the whites.”
With Gaddafi on his side, how can McCain lose this election?

I linked this old video before, but it seems to be the same exact MO of BO, which is BS.
Obama Twists John McCain’s Words and Attacks
I wish someone such as a 527 would compile these instances and the dates they happened into a 30 television to run to expose Obama for the disgusting liar that he is. It would show that he resorts to this kind of tactic, and that he does this multiple times, so it can’t be a mistake, but deliberate acts of lying.
wise_man on June 12, 2008 at 9:39 AM
Exactly. Olbermann named General David Petraeus the worst person in the world when he told the truth about Iraq, so it stands to reason then that anyone who dares question any liberal person or talking point will become the left’s enemy.
Also, you disagree with Obama, then you are a racist. You mention what his wife said, then the hottest level of hell awaits you.
You think that this campaign is eye opening to see what the democrats are doing to get into power this year? Just imagine what they will do when they actually have power with a president Obama. Yeah, it’s going to be real fun.

What a surprise. We call him Joe Screwyourborough, here.

The pretend news anchor will be making another “Special Hysteria aka Commentary” this evening re McCain’s comment about the troops in Iraq.
I’m sure it will be sober, fair, impartial, factual and, above all else, assiduous.
But I’m not going to bet on it, sir.

Joe seems to have overdosed on coffee – a few minutes later after he allowed an Obama surrogate to spew ignorant talking points without challenge \ he then tell Mika Squeaky that Obama is right to attack McCain at his strengths. The poor guy is lost on MSNBC as he SURELY does not want to draw the ire of K Blabberman.
I think that Mika is practicing for a lifetime job on the Price is Right – she sure does a great job holding up the newspapers!

“Round up the usual suspects…”
“But Capt.! they’re all part of the Obama campaign now…”
“No, no, Corporal, Look under the bus!”

How does this help Michelle’s children!?!?!
Under the bus, Joe!
With the rest of the apostates.
“Our souls are broken” according to Michelle Obama.
And now Scarborough’s heart, as well.

I watch Morning Joe a lot. While I am not surprised by Joe’s comments, I wish the clip were longer because Squeeka is clearly besotted with Obama. I imagine she had some sort of vapid excuse/rebuttal locked and loaded, ready to take the edge off Joe’s upset.

The rest of us saw the man hiding behind the see-through curtain a long time ago.
Question: Does Scarborough lack poor judgement?
Answer: Mika’s his co-host.

I think Joe Scar and many others need to wake up to something:Obama is a front for many devotees of tough dirty politics. When he says, “Obama did this” or “Obama said that”
it’s as if he thinks the puppet is controlling the strings.
He’s buying into the idea that Obama is in charge of his campaign, much like Lurch “That’s SENATOR Kerry to you!” supposedly ‘ran’ his party in 2006.
They are figureheads, Joe. Paper mache`. Howdy Dooty with George Soros’ hand up his

How much of this stuff is staged?
Isn’t there an opportunistic disgruntled former insider willing the spill the beans and report how the onair personality doesn’t really believe the stuff they say on camera, and it’s all just scripted?
Anyone?
Or do producers select certain ‘talent’ with known propensity to spew this stuff, and then just push the buttons?
Is the success of a given show is judged by the response it generates from its audience do they even care if 90% of that response is negative as long as they still have an audience?
