Dick Durbin: People who criticize Michelle Obama are going to burn in hell, or something

posted at 7:08 pm on June 11, 2008 by Allahpundit

Via the ‘Busters, let the word goeth forth that the missus has a free ride for the duration, even for things she says as Obama’s surrogate at official campaign events. What’s especially charming about this is that there’s arguably no one in the senate who’s done more than Durbin to pander to the nutroots — the very sort of rabid partisans who so often delighted in taunting the Bush girls for failing to volunteer for the same all-volunteer army they themselves forgot to volunteer for after 9/11, presumably because they were too busy coming up with bon mots like “chickenhawk.” Anyone here have the slightest doubt, incidentally, that if Cindy McCain said or did something impolitic on the trail it would be duly seized on and used to bludgeon Team Maverick? Look no further than this dopey dust-up, showcased at HuffPo and various other places across the web. Oh well. Like Lowry said, the Obama rules are different.

I like the photos of Michelle O in her $500 shoes (telling audiences how they’re going to have to give up some of their pie), or the little Obama girls carrying their Prada book bags. It’s so inspirational to look at those photos and then listen to Barry O telling new college graduates how they should go into public service, and not chase the almighty Dollar. (Then Barry O goes home to his big Chicago mansion with the 1,000-bottle wine cellar, lays his head down on his pillow, and dreams his Lightbearer dreams).

Obama campaign co-chair Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) dramatically reserved the “hottest ring in hell” for those who would go after Michelle Obama

Okay, first of all the circles of hell, present in the Inferno, are not classified in ‘hotness,” but rather by punishment. So, nice job right there, Durbin. Second, for those who worship Obama, is going after his wife the unpardonable sin? Is there a classification of sins for the followers of the ‘O’? What is mortal? What is venial? Durbin has pointed to a great need for an advanced Harmartiology within the Obama theological system. Who will hear the call?

Weight of Glory on June 11, 2008 at 7:43 PM

Dick Durbin sounds like some kind of evangelical radical Christian nutcase. Well done, Dick.

madmonkphotog on June 11, 2008 at 8:07 PM

“The hottest ring in hell?” Gees, I would have thought that was reserved for murderers, rapists and child molesters. Of course, then again, Dems have never been too hard on them.

Spolitics on June 11, 2008 at 8:08 PM

Now who was it who used the phrase “Kill the Witch”?

No, not a republican, not McCain, not Hannity, not fogw ….. it was Maureen Dowd. Yet to Dick Turban and the O’Donnel babe, this condescending phrase is automatically attributed to the evil republican attack machine.

And probably will be, until election day.

fogw on June 11, 2008 at 8:08 PM

Hey tricky Dick, you sir, are a low life piece of scum who sold your own country down the road. Don’t think for one minute that we don’t know who you are tricky Dick. Don’t think for one moment that anybody (including your own bottom dwellers) care what you have to say. You sir, have no respect coming from the citizens of this nation; you sir, are an example of the problem that plagues our nation; you sir, are included in a group of politicians that have sold-out our country to the highest bidder; you sir, have an addiction to power rather than an honest desire to represent the people of this great nation. Tricky Dick is an example of how rotten DC and our political system has become. We on the right have some clean-n up to do; the people on the left have lost their party to the likes of Soros and the radical far left elements that once were kept quiet for the most part. You people on the left must take back control of your party or suffer the consequences your party will bring upon the entire county along with the rest of us. I wish you well if you lefties decide to take on this worthy quest.

So this is the mantra; no questioning of Obama or his loud mouth weasel wife. All I can say to that is “screw you” fools who think you have the power to silence Americans, while controlling our thoughts. We will do the work the MSM refuses to do; we will properly investigate this unknown man and all who surround him; we will then spread the truth (good and bad) so that Americans can select the candidate most likely to cause us the least amount of harm. Hell, it’s no longer a question as to the fact that whomever we select, that person is going to bring harm to us lil plain working class folk. Our choices are now about who is going to harm us the least.

Yes Obama, DC is broken and needs change; you sir, are nothing other than the candidate that is most likely to bring American citizens the most harm possible; you sir, are not about change, you are about control over the people!

Keemo on June 11, 2008 at 8:09 PM

In reality, Michelle Obama is “applying” for the highest diplomatic office in our great country.

Nationally and Internationally, the First Lady of the United States is America’s Humanitarian Emissary and its Social and Cultural Diplomat, on top of being America’s Premier Ambassador of Goodwill.

As such we voters, and -all- Americans, have a vested interest in properly vetting any and all applicants for that job. If Barry and Michelle aren’t happy with that hard fact, then one or the other should either get a divorce, or shut up and get with the program.

Heaven help us if we ever get a First Lady who were to travel overseas, and in a public International venue, bemoan how she has never been proud of America before this! In that one statement she would not only belittle all the incredible history of our country (good or bad, we’ve learned from it and grown and changed and evolved in marvelously positive and humanitarian ways), but in addition she would be dissing the outrageously generous acts of Americans anytime a natural disaster or other type of crisis devastates other countries. Over the past 50 years we Americans have personally and privately opened our hearts, and pockets and pocketbooks to help every time a major catastrophe occurs anywhere around the globe, monetarily to the tune of trillions of dollars.

If that’s not enough for Michelle Obama to be proud of, then I, for one, sure as heck don’t want her in the White House as First Lady of my beloved America representing my also beloved fellow Americans and myself!

In Obama Land, up is down and down is up.

And, that means, Heaven is Hell and Hell is Heaven.

Like, Durbin makes sense which means he makes no sense.

So, whatever is issued forth from Obama Land, means the opposite of what is issued.

God is not mocked.

S on June 12, 2008 at 3:30 AM

Isn’t it curious how people (Durbin, for starters, the Democratic Party for starters) who advocate for violating many if not all the Ten Commandments get self righteous over their Messiah Candidate? And, worse, isn’t it PROFANE that they even have these Messiah Candidates at all?

You really can’t claim moral authority and be a Democrat, sorry, Durbin, it just isn’t possible, not with what the Democrats represent.

S on June 12, 2008 at 3:34 AM

Dick Durbin only has a national platform because we, the electorate, voted the idiot into office. That’s what’s so sad. I don’t know if people are just too apathetic or too gullible or if the populace are generally as dumb as an MSNBC anchor but the only reason f–ksticks like Durbin, Murtha, Maxine Waters, et al, are in office is because we keep them there. You’d think people would wise up but we rarely do. The same scumbags are re-elected over and over and over again.

Django on June 12, 2008 at 3:35 AM

There’s a good reason his parents named him Dick.

Coronagold on June 12, 2008 at 6:37 AM

It is truly wonderful to see the richness of Illinois, and particularly Chicago, politics played out on the national scene. This is a treat the nation has been deprived of but just wait until the Chicago machine moves into the White House and the Department of Justice for the high comedy to really begin.

Dim bulbs like Dick Turdbin get into office because they are easily manipilated by the party and stay in office since Illinois is now a one party state.

Good thing that Durbin doesn’t decide who goes to Hell, and that’s left to a higher power. But since he thinks all Republicans are worthy of hell, and can’t send them there, might as well make America a hell on earth for them.

Has Durbin been channeling Reverend Wright?
