Via the ‘Busters. Don’t worry — he means it in a good way, I’m sure. Exit question: Is America ready for a leader “who doesn’t know what the crap he’s talking about”?

These dopes are already overreaching before their guy has been elected. All of this euphoria and arrogance will go a long way to defeating the suit.

Mathews is such a clown.

Obama offers “deliverance”?

My oh my.

In that analogy, I tihnk Obama is the iceberg.

VolMagic on June 10, 2008 at 7:29 PM

That’s what a lot of people feel about this election.

A lot of people = Chris Matthews…and his leg.

malan89 on June 10, 2008 at 7:31 PM

This guy is such a jerk and a loser. That is why he works for MSNBC.

jencab on June 10, 2008 at 7:32 PM

HMMM… Never agreed with Matthews before. Just based on the headline, not the content or context, I’d have to say that Matthews must have gotten a brain transplant or took an IQ raising potion.

LegendHasIt on June 10, 2008 at 7:32 PM

Only Problem is McCain has been fighting the Washington establishment forever..

Amazing, the commentator is not even TRYING to hide his views…

When does this start to become an unpaid Advertisment for a candidate? Can a “commentator” under Federal Election law be that much of an advocate, and not be compensated for it?

Or does it become an In KIND donation?

Of course, we don’t have a quorum for the FEC right now, so we can’t ask them (thanks Dems…).

Romeo13 on June 10, 2008 at 7:36 PM

Lemme Fix that:
Only Problem is McCain has been fighting part of the Washington establishment forever..

But can I also say, Tissy’s hair looks absolutely fabulous!

VolMagic on June 10, 2008 at 7:41 PM

Matthews is such a dork . . . he’s nothing but an ill informed political parasite. . . but, he fits in quite well with that gaggle of idiots at MSNBC

rplat on June 10, 2008 at 7:41 PM

Chris Matthews is just one of the many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many reasons why PMSNBC’s ratings have been in the toilet these many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many months.

And I haven’t even gotten to Olby yet.

Well, according to McCain-Feingold, it is fine.

It is peons like you and I… Regular citizens that are not allowed to do such things.

“and deliverance.”

I feel badly for matthews, he must be living a truly pathetic life to make such a statement about a politician.

peacenprosperity on June 10, 2008 at 7:45 PM

And Obama’s VP search seems to be getting kinda desperate, doesn’t it? Hillary said no, Strickland said no, Fast Eddie Rendell ain’t gonna take it, the press was pushing for a guy who is a McCain advisor (oops) named Jones, …

I know we like to focus on the GOP here, but it seems to me that Obama just may be the one going under in Nov. 08.

funky chicken on June 10, 2008 at 7:46 PM

When do we get to see comedians publicly mocking this crap?

Lightworker, deliverer, healer of the earth and ocean,

funky chicken on June 10, 2008 at 7:48 PM

The only thing that really tempers this for me is knowing that nobody watches him. His show must be some kind of charity give away that MSNBC does for the Democrats. They can’t possibly have enough viewers to justify paying the guy. Or maybe people see it as some sort of comedy show. I have never, ever heard anyone at work or anywhere else mention anything that has ever appeared on his show or even mentioned his show at all. I don’t know anyone that has even seen it and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This tool is talking about the deaths of over 1500 people, smiling all the time. Makes one want to feed him a knuckle sandwich.

I am NO fan of McCain, and believe he will lose in a landslide, but would never compare him to a tragedy like this. Nor would I call Obama freezing water that kills people in less than a few hours, even though I have zero doubt he is going to be worse than Carter and turn a recession into a Greater Depression.

Voidseeker on June 10, 2008 at 7:49 PM

and deliverance..

as Matthews says this, it looks as if he has no idea what he is swallowing

windansea on June 10, 2008 at 7:51 PM

Please tell me there won’t be a Matthews-moderated debate this fall…not that he’s any less biased than most of the others, but surely he doesn’t need to be rewarded for acting like this.

funky chicken on June 10, 2008 at 7:54 PM

Cannot abide Matthews, but, if it’s true that he’s introducing the Titanic into the discussion, which campaign to you is more suggestive of the biggest and most fabulous and expensive and newest unsinkable luxury liner ever?

God I hope Obama loses just so I can watch Sissy Matthews deflate live on TV.

“How could he lose? He was my guy…”

drjohn on June 10, 2008 at 8:10 PM

Okay, I’ll play along. If McCain = Titanic, then Obama = the Hindenburg. Lofty? Yes. Giant gas bag, made up of mostly empty space? Yes. A candidacy ready to ignite and plummet to the ground in a spectacular fireball because of a small spark? Hope so.

Wait…he’s talking about McCain? I thought he was describing the MSM.

bikermailman on June 10, 2008 at 8:13 PM

I don’t like McCain but this is a ridiculous, inept analogy. It would be like worrying that the Titanic was about to sink when it was docked at Belfast.

At least give McCain the chance to wreck everything before we break out the Titanic analogies.

“Deliverance” as in canoeing down a river in Georgia with Burt and his buddies. I can hear the banjo playing in the background.

aengus on June 10, 2008 at 8:17 PM

Thus far McCain hasn’t driven it into an iceburg….

Or would be throwing people overboard once they are no longer useful be a better way to describe Commodore Obama?

Hog Wild on June 10, 2008 at 8:39 PM

My goodness, Matthews is a bozo. I know questions about his objectivity have been answered before but this is “balls out” blatant. Yeah, I know: he’s being “provocative.” He’s being a buffoon.

How about this one: Barry is the Titantic and the icebergs are Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger, William Ayers, Tony Rezco, etc. That is a more apt analogy.

Major Democratic Jewish Money-man Switches Sides

The McCain Campaign has been saying for days, Some Big Hillary backers are going to switch side. The first to be announced is Stephen Muss, the Florida real estate developer (and former owner of the Fontainebleau). In the past, Muss has given tens of thousands of dollars to help Democratic candidates in recent years, including $80,000 to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in 2000, according to the Center for Responsive Politics and CQ MoneyLine. According to the RNC Muss is one of any lifelong democrats who are uncomfortable with Senator Obama’s Anti-Jew Crew:

Chrissy’s always had overactive salivary glands; I always expect a wall of drool to cascade over his smirk. Now, with the prospect of having the “Deliverer” as our next POTUS, I’m eagerly awaiting an oral tsunami. Now that’s TV worth watching!

rileytod on June 10, 2008 at 9:05 PM

it’s one of many, of course

funky chicken on June 10, 2008 at 9:07 PM

McCain admitted a while back that the economy was not his best asset and yet today on the sister financial network McCain echoed the necessity for Reagan suppy-side econimics, lower tax policies, across the board spending restraints and a free market that could drive alternative energy policies. The only thing he is not on board with (YET) is opening up our own vast reserves to end the dependence on foreign oil. For some one who admits the economy is not one of his strongest suits, I was quite impressed.

On the other hand, Obama’s higher tax policies and government intervention based on marxist redistribution of wealth while returning to the Carter era of isolationism—-one has to ask the question—–who’s putting this nation on the Titanic?

Rovin on June 10, 2008 at 9:11 PM

Chris may find that a better analogy would be McCain as Carrie.

Limerick on June 10, 2008 at 9:18 PM

Hmmm…. I find it interesting that commentators are NOT covered in any way under the Campaign Finance Laws.

They can even spout right up until the election.

So, if you buy a Network, or NewsPaper, you can apparently support a candidate as much as you wish by putting on commentators who support that candidate.

You can even AIR their commercials, in their entirety, for free, and then “comment” on them.

Wow… talk about a loophole.

Romeo13 on June 10, 2008 at 9:50 PM

Then would Obama be the Great Chicago Fire, one of the largest disasters of America’s nineteenth century?

Bishop on June 10, 2008 at 9:53 PM

Chrissy’s always had overactive salivary glands. I sometimes expect a rivulet of spittle cascading over his smirk. Might also account for a portion of Matthew’s “trickle down” effect. Now, with the prospect of “The Deliverer” as the next POTUS, an oral tsunami warning should be posted. God help the poor fellow with the mop!

capitalist piglet on June 11, 2008 at 1:26 AM

I propose a full ban of any sexual innuendo in any Chris Matthews thread on a post that doesn’t include Matthews using his own innuendo (if he says “thrill up my leg” again, the ban is off). It’s been done and, frankly, I’m sick of it. It was funny the first time, now it’s just overdone. I was guilty of referencing the leg incident in my earlier comment, but after reading the rest of the thread I was disappointed. I was hard pressed to find more than a handful of comments NOT referencing “the leg”. It’s got to stop. You’ve killed the funny.
PSYCH!!!! Keep it coming, fellow commenters…just like Chris does every time he sees Obama! POW!

Deliverance. Titanic. Movies. Does the Hardballer live in a DVD fantasy world? How about a real-world comparison: Obama and James Earl Carter, who, with a banjo plucking in the background, nearly sank a whole country.

whitetop on June 11, 2008 at 9:57 AM

It is so depressing we ended up with an asshole like McCain as the nominee, another poor communicator that kisses ass to the other side of the aisle and inspires nobody. That was my main complaint on Bush in that he allowed the libs to define him and barely fought back and he did not try to inspire people more with Conservative solutions. Now we have a candidate that is worse. No way I want to see Obama in there but I think I will have to tune out for 4 years no matter who wins the election, I won’t be able to stand to watch.

echosyst on June 11, 2008 at 10:31 AM

Wouldn’t it be just awesome if someday one of his conservative guests used the “A chill up my leg” line.
