Exploration has no place in government. Exploration leads to the unknown and possible disaster. Much wiser, in fact, to be “foolish”, as in humble, prudent, careful, satisfied. Neither candidate qualifies.

It’s not a problem. Despair is part of every life. I had a 3-stars general for a next door neighbor, for many years, and loved to yak it up with him. His wife often said that I was one of but a handful, at best, women whom he liked. Once I asked him what it was like to be an American general and he said “we all lead quiet, desperate, lives”.
