Obama, “for all of us that have dreams and hope, is a hero,” Lucas said.

If you’re counting on someone else to fulfull your dreams and hopes for you, you’re a loser putz. Or a Democrat.

Obama, “for all of us that have dreams and hope, millions of dollars, is a hero.”

Tim Zank on June 4, 2008 at 10:43 PM

I guess this means Vader is for McCain.

Limerick on June 4, 2008 at 10:44 PM

From Wikipedia:
A hero (from Greek ἥρως hērōs[1]), in Greek mythology and folklore, was originally a demigod, the offspring of a mortal and a deity,[2] their cult being one of the most distinctive features of ancient Greek religion.

Seems to sum up the way the left views Obama.

freakagriep on June 4, 2008 at 10:44 PM

Been drinking out of that Hollywood well. Obama – the judgment to lead. Lucas – the judgment to center a movie around JarJar.

Spirit of 1776 on June 4, 2008 at 10:45 PM

Watch for the next digital remastering of the original Star Wars to superimpose Obama over Mark Hamill. Or maybe the next one after that.

OneGyT on June 4, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Someone ask the moron if he would hire barry to run his studio. hollywood is made up of such incredible morons and we deserve to listen to their stupidity because we make them rich and treat them like royalty until they start believing they are something special. Whether we want to believe it or not we are all a little responsible for creating people like barbara and rosie.

peacenprosperity on June 4, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Obama, “for all of us that have dreams and hope a white-guilt complex, is a hero.”

Voting for Barry because he’s black is a sort of racism.

silverfox on June 4, 2008 at 10:48 PM

The majority of his life has been lived in a fantasy, and it has paid handsome dividends for the supreme Jedi Knight.

But guess what Lucas, this is the real world and you and Obama
may be feeling the rapture, but there is a huge world out here that lives in the now.

Your logic does not compute.

Obama, “for all of us that have dreams and hope, is a hero.”

These people have no concept of what a true hero is like — John Wayne’s era did, not this bloated clown.

Didn’t anybody else vomit in their mouths when hearing the dialog he wrote for the last 3 Star Wars films pertaining to war and government? Bleeeccchhh.

“American Idol” is such a befitting name for the times of this country, or where the collective ‘minds’ of the people of this country are.

Entelechy on June 3, 2008 at 10:48 PM

I agree… Except I spell it differently:

“American IDLE”

LegendHasIt on June 3, 2008 at 11:43 PM

Entelechy on June 4, 2008 at 11:16 PM

Of course Lucas never says why Barry is his hero. But then again his life is dealing in fantasy, so thinking some politician who spouts “hope” and “change” is a hero. George needs to tour Iraq and meet with our troops. Then let’s see if he understands who our heroes are.

Mallard T. Drake on June 4, 2008 at 11:16 PM

Of course Lucas looks up to him; Obama’s the first candidate to take an entire campaign and “fix it in post”.

PolitiNOOB on June 4, 2008 at 11:17 PM

I prefer the other quote I saw : “The force was with Obama”.

Too bad it wasn’t with George on his last film! Indy 4 sure could have used some help.

Yes, we all have hopes and dreams, I hope and dream that you’ll stop screwing up all those great movies you once made … but those dreams turn into nightmares and the hope fades into despair. Thank God I have a real life in which I can escape your fantasy world.

Tony737 on June 4, 2008 at 11:32 PM

bucko36 on June 4, 2008 at 11:50 PM

The guilt is strong in this one….Lucas like Hanks and most successful liberals can not honestly define what Obama is nor how Obama will change water into wine. A black POTUS just feels good, and if it feels good just do it!

dmann on June 4, 2008 at 11:52 PM

What about those of us who want a big pile of change? Is Obama just about hope now? Because I was less interested in what I could do with some hope than what I could do with some extra change.

MCPO Airdale on June 4, 2008 at 11:57 PM

Red, Ann provided a good lesson on the constitution and elections. If only the lefties would learn from it. They pick and choose the majority votes versus the electoral ones, depending what they wish. The media obliges them, with “giggles” and “sensations up their legs” – see Chris Matthews.

Entelechy on June 5, 2008 at 12:00 AM

Giving someone a job over a competitor, simply because of their skin color, is the very essence of racism.

This Marxist Obama could never have been selected the nominee of the Democrat party if it were not for his skin color. It’s certainly not the content of his character that Dems voted for. No big Hollywood celebrities are going around bragging of their presumptive nominee’s content of charcater!

Red Pill on June 5, 2008 at 12:02 AM

Tony, I’d vote happily for Thomas Sowell. Best economist.

Entelechy on June 5, 2008 at 12:03 AM

Rosmerta on June 5, 2008 at 12:03 AM

Did anybody catch Mencia tonight? Carlos had a skit on what McCain and Obama look like to different people. He said “… and here’s what Obama looks like to women:” and Billy D. Williams appears on the screen. Funny and I’m afraid there may be some truth to it. Obama’s way better looking than McCain, lots of women will vote for for that reason, just as many Black Voters will go for Obama just because he’s black.

By the way, I met Carlos on my plane last week, very cool guy.

Tony737 on June 5, 2008 at 12:04 AM

The man who wrote the sparkling dialogue that I mock to this day?

Hey Mr Tony, you reminded me of somethin’. Forty years ago [heh, yeah 40!] in Army basic training they teach you how to dig a fox hole. (Believe it!) The Army teaches you how to dig a hole. At the bottom of the hole is something called a ‘grenade sump’, and extra two foot deep, small hole. If someone tosses a grenade in your hole, you have the chance to kick it into the sump, and perhaps survive the detonation.

They don’t have grenade sumps in humvees. That guy
McGinnis? That’s heroic.

Obama is an illusion, a mirage, a faker. Anyone calling Obama a hero is a fool no matter how much money they have.

Obama, “for all of us that have dreams and hope, is a hero,” Lucas said.–Plagal cadence.

Hillary, “for all of us that have dreams and hope, is a hero,” Ferraro said.–Authentic cadence.

Face it, Lucas. By choice, you have made yourself into a has been. You lack originality and interest, stuck in sequel format as your brain is. For genius squandered, cry yourself a river. Go dream your dreams, but no longer at our expense. Even if it is “art” and even if you do, I don’t buy a pig with lipstick and call it a masterpiece. Give us our money back, charlatan.

maverick muse on June 5, 2008 at 6:01 AM

Obama is well qualified for the role. He is tall, dark and handsome, even with the big, flappy ears. He has a terrific speaking voice, works well with a script and can hold an audience in the palm of his hand. He is a black Clark Gable. Of course a movie director would like him.

Lucas is a big believer in the archetypical hero as espoused by Joseph Campbell. I am too.

However, there is no way B. Hussein even remotely resembles that archetype or even the journeys all heroes in storytelling take.

I’m sorry, Lucas lost me when he said that the movies were really just all about Anakin and not about Luke or even the greater struggle. He lost me when the books went off the deep end. If you want really good SW, you don’t have to buy books and give him money. Just search the internet.
