Yeah, would have probably sounded better on radio than TV. Lots of politicians do. But after the speech, some talking head came on to “explain” who John McCain was and what he meant. I found myself immediately reaching for the remote to shut the tv thinking that I don’t need to hear anyone telling me who John McCain is, that after all these years I know exactly who he is.

I think he will have a very hard time coming across as something new or fresh, not to mention exciting. Luckily, he is a running against a candidate who is fake new and fresh. Pointing this out repeatedly will be necessary to counter McCain’s age.

I mean, technically isn’t the VP selected by the delegates just like the President?

If Hillary can convince enough delegates that support Obama that Obama really needs her as VP whatever Obama says…

It seems to me that if Obama doesn’t announce a VP candidate within the month he could have a lot of trouble picking anyone but Hillary.

I believe McCain is a Crypto-Marxist, just like Clinton and Obama are.

I wish the Republicans had nominated at least a half decent candidate with SOME principles to face Barry. But I guess we’re stuck with this tool.

The text of McCain’s speech last night was great. He laid out broad conservative principles (opposition to big government and high taxes) while distancing himself from Bush by pointing out the areas where he publicly disagreed with Bush. He also introduced his speech by congratulating Hillary on winning the popular vote, talking about how inspiring she is to women, and then saying “but the Democratic party leadership has determined that Obama is who I will face in November.” That is, he’s pushing a “selected, not elected” meme about Obama. Finally, he talked about how all of Obama’s ideas are old (”for such a young man”), very liberal, and not “change we can believe in.”

The problem is his delivery was horrible. Very awkward, very slow. Definitely gave the impression he was up past his bed time.

Folks, SHE ISN’T ACTING LIKE SOMEONE WHO LOST. This isn’t a brave face she’s putting on; she knows something we don’t and acts like a gambler who has an ace up her proverbial sleeve.

Obama is toast. McCain is toast. We’re toast!

And you want a religious nut case as president. Huck is an embarrassment to all who have religious faith. A two-bit preacher, leeching off the emotions of the faithful to retain power. He is a reflection of his counter part Rev. Wright, except he uses different emotional words, and he chose the political path to support his faith, instead of a faithful path to support his politics…he is just a mirror image of Rev. Wright.

Those superdelegates who have “committed” to Obama have done no such thing – they’ve only said IN PRIVATE their desires to support Obama. When the convention gets underway, WATCH them vote for Hillary.

While this Larry Johnson may not be trustworthy, there is something out there on Obama. Hillary knows it and will give it to some “Republican” group. Between now and the convention it will be leaked to the press. No matter how much in the tank they are for Obama, they will run with it. Scandal trumps loyalty in the media.

And I should have added that if McCain gives us any more of those snorers like he did last night, he can hang it up. It sounded like listening to some dead senator talking to an empty chamber in the middle of the night on C-span.

In the tv age, he’s be advised to pick someone more youthful for VP, or get some naked cheerleaders in a mosh pit in front of the podium.

How about we raise a ruckus of our own between now and our convention, and tell McCain to “put the mike down and step away from the nomination”?

I have a feeling that scandals may surface that force both Obama and McCain to step down from their party’s nominations.

Even if McCain doesn’t step down, the Ron Paul supporters may find a way to keep McCain from winning, and a different nominee could emerge from the convention. Or, McCain picks Huckabee as his VP, wins the general election, and then either scandal or health issue forces McCain to step down before the inauguration.

I don’t know how it will happen, but Mike Huckabee will be the next President of the United States.

And I challenge anyone to find a pro-Huckabee comment of mine from earlier than February 8, 2008. I was using the login name ITookTheRedPill at that time. (For anyone unfamiliar with why it changed to Red Pill, read this.)

My pro-Huckabee comments began only after:
1) Mitt Romney suspended his campaign, and
2) The Holy Spirit told me that Mike Huckabee will be the next POTUS.

I don’t have any reasons, religious or otherwise, to expect any other candidates.

Thank you, JiangxiDad. People need to understand how McCain is giving the finger to conservatives. Look at what McCain did here. If McCain had not had CNN cancel the February 28th debate, and refused to accept the invitation to the replacement debate set up by the Values Voter coalition for March 3, you can bet that McCain would have been put on the spot about quite a number of issues, not the least of which would have been immigration.

McCain would have been forced to take a more conservative stand on any issue discussed in the debate. That is why McCain refused to debate.

I believe McCain is a Crypto-Marxist, just like Clinton and Obama are. That is why none of those three can be our next President.

I think Obama is backed by the Russian Communists, while Hillary is backed by the Chinese Communists.

I think McCain is the best candidate Republicans could have nominated this year. I know there are people who do not want to hear that, but considering the times, it is the truth.

Perhaps, but is he the best McCain we could have gotten?

Ever read Red Pill’s scenarios of how we got snookered into getting McCain? Hear about the numbers of crossovers in Florida in Op. Chaos-reverse? Could/should Mitt and Huckabee and Fred soldiered on longer, so that combined they and their delegates had some clout with McCain? Could the Republican nomination have been stretched out until the convention, or just longer?

If any/some of this had happened, we might have gotten a McCain who was more beholden to conservatives. So even if your thesis is correct, that McCain is the right candidate for this election, it’s the wrong McCain.
