I did find it curious, though, that when pressed by O’Reilly about appearing on the Bush-hating programs (Olbermann) and how they are using the book to promote their Bush hatred that McClellan said he couldn’t do anything about that. That’s odd coming from someone who says the goal of the book is to help dampen down the rancor and partisanship in the country.

It seems to me that someone who wishes to restore some type of comity in political discourse would be at least chagrined over the fact that the book is being used to contribute to the vitriole and not diminishing it.

One way or another McClellan’s a liar, so here’s how he can make amends: Donate the profits from the book to U.S. troops. If he lied knowingly about the war as press secretary, here’s one small way he can atone. And if he’s lying now, he can salvage his credibility by not profiting from it.

That would require that moveon actually know what U.S. troops look like. On the other hand they probably meant to say troupes because Susan Sarandon is going to need the extra cash when she moves in November.

I have to wonder (again) if McClellan’s just an idiot, plain and simple.

I stopped wondering after his first week on the job. The guy was such complete moron, so over his head, it was embarrassing and painful to watch.

But the trouble with such a book is that people with far more credibility and talent have been pumping them out for years. The best Scottie McClellan could hope for with such a book — assuming some soft-hearted conservative gave……

In claiming he was misled about the Plame affair, McClellan mentions Armitage only twice. Armitage being the leaker undermines the Democratic theory, now accepted by McClellan, that Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and political adviser Karl Rove aimed to delegitimize Wilson as a war critic. McClellan’s handling of the leak by itself leads former colleagues to suggest he could not have written this book by himself.

On page 173, McClellan first mentions my Plame leak, but he does not identify Armitage as the leaker until page 306 of the 323-page book — then only in passing. Armitage, anti-war and anti-Cheney, cannot fit the conspiracy theory that McClellan now buys into. When Armitage after two years publicly admitted he was my source, the life went out of Wilson’s campaign. In “What Happened,” McClellan dwells on Rove’s alleged deceptions as if the real leaker were still unknown.

Soros is an evil man. Poor Scotty had no idea that he was going to make himself a pariah and most likely going to have to give away any cash he made at the same time.

I’ll give Soros credit though. He does know exactly how much mileage he will get out of his stooges. He supported Cindy Sheehan a long time before he cut her off. McClellan? One week.

Well, that would be a first for MoveOn.org; them actually doing something positive for the troops. I wonder if they’re aware of that…

I never saw the movie (Peter Sellers was a genius); but read all of Kosinki’s books (Painted Birds was astonishing).

Ironic that he (Kosinski) too was accused of both plagiarism and having had someone else write his books. Accusations that were raised by the Polish KGB in order to discredit him (he was an anti-communist).
