Obama aide: His decision to leave Trinity was “a deeply personal, not a political decision”

Via the Busters. It’s undoubtedly true — just like his decision to start wearing the flag pin again was personal, just like his decision to take a trip to Iraq and meet with Petraeus was personal, just like his climbdown from unconditional meetings with Iran was personal. The fact that all three coincide with the start of the general election campaign is but a happy whim of chance, much like him suddenly deciding that we needed a national conversation on race at the very moment his relationship with Wright was coming under a microscope. Behold the “new politics,” then: The same old crap with political stunts a-gogo, but adorned with half-hearted nonsense about “principle” and sheepish, shinola-eating grins like the one worn by this idiot. He actually uses the pat phrase “deeply personal” three times in about 60 seconds here, almost as if he’s trying to communicate just how scripted and insincere his talking point is. And why not? The media’s in the tank. Who’s going to call him on it?

And why not? The media’s in the tank. Who’s going to call him on it?

The American People.

I tell you, the Reps better hope that Obama hangs on to the nomination.

Every human being listening to idiots like Gibbs has a BS meter going off like a broken car alarm.

Obama either hasn’t guts to stand up to evil or he himself believes the evil his congregation does.

Not George Stephanopolous, that’s for sure.

grtflmark on June 1, 2008 at 7:40 PM

I just watched the video of Father Michael Pfleger speaking at Trinity. Racist Black is as offensive as Racist White.
Racist Black is just as politically crippling as Racist White.
Obama’s connection to Trinity church, even though recently severed, will cost him the election. Moderate voters of all colors will flock to McCain. He may be many things, but McCain isn’t racist. The people who have moved past racism will not want to put a racist politician in the White House.

Doug on June 1, 2008 at 7:40 PM

Obama has no character. No core beliefs he is willing to stand on. That, added to his ignorant makes him a dangerous choice for president.

Mommynator on June 1, 2008 at 7:41 PM

It turns out that this, in fact, does help Michelle’s kids. Getting them out of that hate-fest is the best things the O’s could have done.

bloggless on June 1, 2008 at 7:41 PM

I think Pfleger has an identity problem. JC would not condone his antics.

I don’t think I’ve seen any kind of “quiet reflection” going on in that church in any video I’ve seen yet.

A bit of a tangent, but what do my fellow Hotties think/know about the alleged “Whitey” video?

mikeyboss on June 1, 2008 at 7:33 PM

A Whitey video doesn’t have to exist at this moment. She is going to unleash once the real campaign starts. It will be something so offensive that even the MSM will want to show its right royal indignation by going after her. Then that U.N. guy traveling the country looking for human rights violations in the U.S. and will denounce the MSM’s racist attacks on Michelle and call in the blue helmets to be elections observers. Maybe even put Jimmy Carter in charge of it all. Seriously.

JonRoss on June 1, 2008 at 7:47 PM

It really doesn’t matter what this gimp says…or what Barry H. Jesus says…they could start unearthing graves in the guys backyard and it wouldn’t matter…a frightening number of Americans don’t care (or even know) what Barry says or does…just like they wanted change back in 1976, even if it came in the form of Jimmy Carter…they will vote for him because ‘it’s time America had a black President’…no matter what. I hear it from a lot of people who voted for dubya last time: at the office, on non-political blogs and forums, everywhere…they want change and could care less what form it takes or what the consequences are. And to those who keep saying that the American people can’t be fooled…remember the 1976 elections…I have a bad vibe that 2008 is the new 1976. God, I hope I’m wrong…

Obama aide: His decision to leave Trinity was “a deeply personal, not a political decision”

ANY person that practices Black Liberation Theology and it’s fountain of hate, that’s running for public office, especially the presidency, must be open for scrutiny and questioning. If Obama was stupid enough to hang out at TUCC for twenty years, and couldn’t tell the difference between the Gospel and hate speech, well to bad for him.

Now after the public becoming aware of BLT, and hate spewing mongers like Rev. Wright and Fr. Pfleger, are we now to believe his leaving TUCC was personal … Jeez, more dishonest statements just keep a coming!

VolMagic on June 1, 2008 at 7:54 PM

Contempt and Evil are winning out in our society today.

You can see this in the success of the far-left loons and Websites.
Websites such as “The Daily Kos” and “Media Matters” led by hate and contempt-filled figures such as Markos Moulitsas, Eric Alterman, and David Brock have captured the imaginations of our youth - and received the backing of a still-powerful Mainstream Media in this country.

Let’s face it - the size and the degree of accomplishment of the “alternative” press and new sources such as Fox News and Talk Radio is still miniscule in comparison to the influence and the overwhelming power and force wielded by the Mainstream Terrrorist-Sympathizing Media. People and organizations like Tim Russert, The New York Times, Time and Newsweek Magazine, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and on and on monopolize the “signal” received by, not only The American People, but WORLDWIDE about “what is happening” and what are the “facts” of history. Effectively DROWNING OUT the message of Truth being transmitted by the “alternative” press, Fox News and Talk Radio.

Effectively, the truth NEVER reaches the American People OR The World.

The controls of History and the Megaphone of the “facts” of what constitutes “news” are FIRMLY in the hands of those who wish history to be decided by how much hatred and contempt for America they can effectuate in The World Today.

And, it appears that the possession of CONTEMPT and HATRED for America and a PASSION for screaming it loudly is the only substantiation criteria necessary to effect PROOF of their message.

I find this terribly depressing.

grtflmark on June 1, 2008 at 7:54 PM

“Evil and Contempt are Winning The Day” - continued:

I would now quote from one my most favorite authors, Philip K. * - who was also one of the most well-read and erudite writers of the last 50 years. This is a section from his novel “The Zap Gun”, which is a chilling allegory to our current condition. This except discusses the viewing by the American public of the effects that an ersatz weapon would have on any enemy - only the American public does not know the “weapon” is a fake:

“It was worse than the Fall of the House of Atreus, Lars decided. Blidness, incest, daughters and sisters torn apart by wild beasts….what reality, in the final analysis, was the worst fate that could befall a group of humans? Slow starvation, as in the Nazi concentration camps, accompanied by beatings, impossibly hard work, arbitrary indignities and at last the “shower baths” which were actually Zyklon B hydrogen cyanide gas chambers?…..

Wes-bloc, it ruling elite, believed that the people were comforted by this sort of video tape shown - incredibly - at the dinner hour, or displayed in still form via color pic in the breakfast-time ‘pape, to be ingested along with the eggs and toast. The pursaps like displays of power because they felt powerless themselves. It heartened them to see Item 278 make mincemeat out of a gang of thugs who were beyond the pale. Item 278, from FBI high-muzzle-velocity guns, sped out in the form of thermo tropic darts which found their targets.

And Lars looked away”

deeply personal distractions

A few posters commented about how the MSM shills for Obama and without a doubt that’s true to the core. I would like to hope, pray and believe the American people are smarter than that. We’ll know in November. However, I do heat the bandwagon loud and clear on the nightly news that Obama has an insurmountable lead on delegate pledges. The calls for Hillary to quit. The turn the blind eye to the outright lying, misrepresentation of history and utterly foolish statements regarding dealing with our enemies. From both candidates. The steadfast support for either is astonishing perplexing.

It’s just scary…. tooo scary.

But, when this is past and the 24/7 MSM smear begins on McCain in earnest and we see mult-hour BHO specials on TV, that we all know will saturate to boob-tube..and the many boobs who will believe it all…it’s just a bad feeling I have.

Methinks the failure of public education to educate people so that they can think critically and see more than one dimension, more than one viewpoint, think instead of emote…it’s going to work out the way the Bill Ayers of the country want it to.

The inability to clearly see what is in front of your face, the Orwellian use of words such as “apology”…I am scared too but I been this way for some time.

If you want a shock, pick up a copy of “Ideas Have Consequences” (Richard M. Weaver). He nails the current inability to think straight or perceive reality right down. In 1946.

Let us hope the Michelle Whitey Tapes, and the rest of his farce, prove out to expose Barry O and cadre for what they really are.

That’s a matter of opinion. Plenty of people (i.e., Obama supporters) think it’s a non-issue anyway. They are split into several camps. One camp agrees with Rev. Wright’s view of the world. Another thinks he was just there for “political reasons” and yet another thinks the issue is mainly manufactured. The comments were rare and in now way should be ascribed to Obama. For his supporters, he’s saying and doing what he has to to get elected and that’s all they care about. They buy into his agenda and they want to see it pursued. Stupid? Hardly.

Ok, you win, Obama’s supporters are a bunch of intellectual giants.

Yes, you are right, its a matter of opinion…

In my opinion, agreeing with Rev. Wright’s view of the world is stupid…so is “believing” (rationalizing) that the issue is mainly manufactured…and so is wanting to elect someone who is so unprincipled that he will say or do anything to get elected.

Buying into his agenda? Stupid.

This is too horribly true…my most recent foray into this territory was with a woman who is supporting Obama because he will “end the draft”.

I, too, have been horrified by the sheer ignorance of Obama supporters including people who went to Punahou with Barry.

A good portion of Obama’s supporters are who Begala called the “egg heads” well educated, affluent whites. What we used to call Yuppies in the 80s. Want to make the case they are stupid, i.e, lack ordinary quickness and keenness of mind? They aren’t stupid they simply have a different world view then we do which happens to be dangerously naive IMHO. They aren’t buying into his agenda because they lack the mental capacity to understand it but because they agree with it.

Call it what you will. I call it white guilt on parade.

Well, first, anyone who thinks that “sitting in quiet reflection, worshipping God” describes Trinity UCC, then we should leave that person alone to reflect some more.

Mr. Gibbs - “this idiot”, I believe Allah calls him - seems to be spewing a talking point that is aimed at the black Christian, to try and shore up any weakening of his position as a result of his throwing 10,000 radical nutjob race-worshippers in Chicago under a very large bus.

Why a doughy, stupid white guy as tv spokesman for this round? I got nothing, as Butt-Pflugger might say.

So then, we disagree, but thanks for the thoughtful response.

Obama either hasn’t guts to stand up to evil or he himself believes the evil his congregation does.

When does he disavow Meeks?

I think it’s radioactive and conservatives should stay as far away from it as possible. I doubt she would be stupid enough to go up there and scream about Whitey. She may have screamed something that sounds similar, but if conservatives get caught up in it, it makes us all look like idiots and maybe even racists. Let’s leave that for Barry, Wright, Meeks, Pfleger, and Calypso Louie, please?

If anybody’s gonna launch an attack on Michelle Obama, it needs to be the Clintons, and they need to do it without any fallback “republican attack machine” cover.

The ACTUAL quote:

“His decision to leave Trinity was a deeply political, not a personal decision. Wait… reverse that.”

“His decision to leave Trinity was a deeply political, not a personal decision.
Both are NOT mutually exclusive

I cried for B. Hussein Obama myself watching him make such a heartwrenching decision. I felt his pain……………………….PSYCHE!!!!!
