Here’s a lighter moment for Memorial Day, as Fox and Friends covers Fleet Week in New York in their on-line, after-broadcast video. The Marine Corps brings their Parris Island band and some impressive vehicles for display, and the USO has a boogie-woogie moment as well. Enjoy.

Great Fleet Week, but that F&F crew made me cringe more than once.

P.S. the drummers kicked *ss

VolMagic on May 26, 2008 at 4:25 PM

The Marine Corps Drill Team is the best, but I love the Army’s marching band, dressed in 1776 uniforms.

Tony737 on May 26, 2008 at 4:30 PM

There’s something about a girl in uniform

My heart goes boom boom boom

Kini on May 26, 2008 at 4:34 PM

That was great. God Bless America!

Zorro on May 26, 2008 at 4:42 PM

I agree the F&F weekend crew could use more fine tuning, but it’s still the only morning show worth watching.

I wonder, did any other channel even acknowledge that today is Memorial Day?

petefrt on May 26, 2008 at 4:51 PM

Way, way cool. Thanks.

oakpack on May 26, 2008 at 4:53 PM

Thanks for posting this, it was fantastic!

“Can I try that?”

Sure, pick up a weapon, then pick up a horn…….

Seven Percent Solution on May 26, 2008 at 5:21 PM

Great music. Really enjoyed it. Thanks!

A big thank you to all our troops. God bless America.

katieanne on May 26, 2008 at 5:47 PM

OH! That was painful to watch. If they are going to do that kind of stuff, F&F really needs to hire people who understand what the military does.

Even the band members are trained as riflemen first and foremost.

I really appreciate that the Fox guys and gals do great stuff like this… But they do need to learn not to handle the merchandise. Especially that being worn by Marines. Then again…, the way those DevilDogs handled that clumsy crew made them look less like the baby-killers the other networks allow them to be seen as. As I typed those last few lines it occurred to me that, perhaps, the Fox crew were just in awe and giddy from it. THAT would get my admiration, on TOP of my forgiveness. And one last point… It’s encouraging to see that, while more and more young people are becoming less and less concerned with anything but themselves, my successors are carrying on our traditions honorably. They make me damned proud. Good job, Leathernecks.

Rugged Individual on May 26, 2008 at 6:54 PM

Those boys have got some chops! Great fun.

(Who is the magical creature in Fox blue?)

Jaibones on May 26, 2008 at 7:19 PM

Loved it. Didn’t see this anywhere else. Thank you to all our military men & women, and to Fox News for highlighting these folks.

MsUnderestimated on May 26, 2008 at 7:29 PM

Thank you to all the men and women and their families who make sacrifices for our great country.

God bless you, and God bless the USA.

Spirit of 1776 on May 26, 2008 at 8:43 PM

It sure brings back the Navy League days of parading,
left wheel, right wheel, but are band was not that good!

To Honour,Sacrifice, and Freedom:Thank-You America
for all that you do,and have done,in the name of
Freedom, and the sacrifices your country has endured
making this World a safer and free’er,from my heart
and as a Canadian,I sincerely Thankyou.

God Bless America, :) :) :) :).

This never happened during Fleet Week in San Fran; we were genrally tolerated and I was never witness to any abuses against the uniformed but you could just…tell.

Aloha canopfor. The Canadians have always been great friends and allies. Half of my family on me moms side are Canadian from Newfoundland and conservatives also. I don’t think we Americans could have a better neighbor than those in the Great White North. So I lift my Molson’s beer to say “Good day and take off ya hoser!” :-)

Obama spokesman Bill Burton declined to respond directly to McCain.

“Senator Obama thinks Memorial Day is a day to honor our nation’s veterans, not a day for political posturing,” Burton said.

Gee there is a shocker Obama not willing to address an issue directly.

Go back to your waffle Senator.

Sorry about that previous post should belong in this headline.

sticks, the land of our fine Canadian beavers,I say
hello,and good day,eh!

And I as well salute you back, and toast you and America
with a nice hot cup of tea,I learned this nasty tea
habit from my English born grandmother who came to
Canada after marrying a French Canadian soldier after
World War Two!

And its nice to hear from you again,oh some threads ago
we were chatting, and I abruptly left you,my son had
chest pains again,he had a collasped lung,so we had to
make a bee line to the emergency again,so sorry about
that Kini!

Yet the geek Obama gave a campaign stump speech today; good God can this guy be any more clear as to what a total disaster he would be as POTUS?

As a conservative man in his mid fifties I am embarrassed by fox news.

Is there any possibility that Rupert can have a news team that doesn’t cheerlead?

I have to admit that I like the calm rational sounding tones from the anchors at CNN and NPR, despite the fact that I loath those maggots.

WHY CAN’T FOX make an effort to appeal to people who want facts instead of animated morons who can’t practice law.

We honor our veterans on veterans day.

Today we honor those who gave their lives so that we can post on this message board.

This is Memorial Day.

Obama is an asshat.

Sorry to hear about your son. No need to apologize to me, family comes first in any situation. I hope and pray he is well and recovering nicely. All our prayers to you and family.

I know Canada does participates in Fleet Week along our borders and it’s great to see the ships from our best friends.

Where are you out and about in Canada?

I know you misposted but you are wrong in your comments too (guess it just isn’t your day! ;-0 )

Much as I hate the man, Obama is partially right that
“Memorial Day is a day to honor our nation’s veterans.” The reality is the day set aside to honor our nation’s fallen servicemen (Vets are honored in November). At one time it was a day full of reflection about those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Nowdays it is a three-day-weekend full of campaign posturing.

Kini on May 26,2008 at 11:16PM.

Kini:The Twin Soo’s,Sault Ste.Marie,Ontario!
The International Bridge,and the Lock
system for shipping raw goods across Lake
Superior, and a border that is armed by
American Border customs officers,(As it
should be,and a Fort Knox border in
secruity,compared to Mexico,jus sayin!)

It’s cause the Foxes are exited about the military where the others can be demure because they’re looking down their noses.

I actually dis-agree with that. Memorial Day is to honor those that gave their life for this country.

Veterans Day is to honor the veterans.

F15Mech on May 27, 2008 at 12:17 AM

I thought I just posted that same thought and we are in agreement. All I did was give Obama partial credit for understanding that Memorial Day actually deals with the military and not marking the point where one can where white without reproach. Is that a racist comment? ;-0

I’m one of those cranky old traditionalists who actually understands the difference between Memorial/Decoration Day and Veteran’s day.
