Video: Chris Wallace rips Hillary’s “non-apology apology”

Chris Wallace interviewed Hillary Clinton spokesperson Terry McAuliffe on Fox News Sunday to ask about the now-infamous reference to Robert Kennedy’s assassination as an explanation for her remaining in the primary race. McAuliffe tries trotting out the “I’m sorry if anyone took offense” apology, which Wallace criticizes as a typical Washington ploy:
Ever since Hillary began walking back her comments to the Argus Leader, I was struck by her lack of apology to the Obamas. She has deliberately focused her regrets, such as they are, onto the Kennedys instead. That seems like a provocation towards Barack Obama, daring him to take public offense to it instead of the figurative shrug he has thus far displayed.
And as Wallace notes, the apology has not exactly been complete. Hillary takes the Dick Durbin approach, offering regrets if anyone took offense to her remarks. McAuliffe repeats this several times during the interview, allowing Wallace to confirm that Hillary doesn’t think she said anything wrong. It’s all about the timeline, McAuliffe insists, and nothing else.
Perhaps, but Wallace gets closer to the national reaction when he calls the remarks “tasteless and ghoulish”. Hillary apparently thinks she can brazen her way out of the corner into which she painted herself. Perhaps she can, but she’s more likely to further damage the Clinton brand in the Democratic Party. Even if everyone agrees that she doesn’t hope Obama gets assassinated, the Clintons are supposed to be a lot more politically adept than to leave that impression. If this is the best they can do, the Democrats will have little use for them in the future.

Well, well hateful lil’ Darthy Boy. Wrong again.
Ad hominem specifically means “to the man” which is my contention because you assumed about Willey’s husband which point I wasn’t arguing. Therefore your ad hominems weren’t merely bizarre they were misguided by your misunderstanding.
First you strangely presume that I was talking about Kathleen Willey’s husband when I was alluding to her disappearing cat and the Pellicano connection.
Second, you presume others’ insanity because you misinterpret what you think they said and that is the best you can argue.
Should you have the least grasp of psychiatric and medical science you will know that the ones inhabiting the nuthouse are those whom have convinced themselves of the insanity of others. I certainly don’t think you’re insane…yet. Merely one immature, having doubtful reading comprehension and a lousy debater.
I will not question your expertise and experience on masturbation which I suspect is profound while strongly suspecting your village may be missing its idiot. Kiss kiss. Repeat to your mirror “I feel pretty.” Maybe that will ease your pain.

Although the face has now been shown to be a rock formation through better imaging and most likely the building-like structures to the southwest(?) are rocks as well, it’s sort of fun to think of them as alien structures. Just thinking about them as merely rocks is just so dull!
If something down there turns out to be of non-natural, non-earth origin, I’ll be the first to be surprised.

Back on topic? Very well, though this was much more interesting than video of Wallace and Gromit (HA!) going over what Clinton really meant, blah blah blah.
I really wonder if the drive-bys were just waiting for Clinton to say something where they can increase their pressure for her to drop out, since they’ve all just about turned into Obama Zombies, or simply Obombzies. Whether they were waiting or not, she may have just done it all herself.
But she probably won’t drop out anyway, despite Jimmy Carter.
Weebork on May 25, 2008 at 8:26 PM
Here’s what used to be mind numbing, every Friday the
Clinton’s would leak something to the News media, and
for some strange, inexplicable reasons a disaster or
death would occur!
Just when Bill’s bimbo erupters erupted and Bill got caught
or when the GPS gismo from the crashed rocket happened and
for some bizarre reason the Chineese would not let the
American team near it,untill they got the technology!
or,When somehow,someway the W-88 minitured version nuke
warhead information that was stolen,or virtually the entire
nuclear warhead information that China has,
or,The Satelite codes for tracking Ballistic submarines
and communication somehow got comprimised, well you could
always expect a diversion,distraction,disaster,or death
from the Clintons!
And if you remember watching the Sunday talk shows, and the
discussion was the Clintons, you got Paul Bagala,Leone Penatta and trying to get an answer was worse than skinning
your knees,and applying iodine!!
And now,(Snicker and a Smirk)the media switched teams!

Glad I missed those Sunday shows. Begala and Panetta still spewing worn phrases like Heckle and Jekyll (sic)? I’d bet that was as exciting as Bubba’s 1988 DNC convention speech!

On topic> I watched the interview this morning, while I did think Wallace was being a bit overbearing with it, Terry knew it was coming. One thing did strike me and that was towards the end of the interview how adamant he was about going on with the fight. Sounded like the Obama camp and the Clinton camp still have some dry powder left.

Limerick,
Much in the same way I wondered aloud what Gov Huckabee was trying to get out of staying in the race even though he knew he couldn’t win, I wonder if the Clintons are up to something similar. I still believe that Huckabee stayed in to get some political benefit down the road. Is Clinton doing this, I don’t know, but it at least appears that she is trying to get something. Perhaps the assassination angle is relevant but there is no real way to know with the Clintons, since everything they do is tactics and strategy.
In any event, as you say, the two candidates still have some ammo to use in the race. Perhaps this is also why I believe Clinton will go on beyond Jimmy Carter’s fabled June 3rd demarcation.

Ad hom! whaaaa
First, ad hominem has a specific meaning that extends past your hyperliteralist excuse. From wikipedia:
An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: “argument to the man”, “argument against the man”) consists of replying to an argument or factual claim by attacking or appealing to a characteristic or belief of the person making the argument or claim, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim. The process of proving or disproving the claim is thereby subverted, and the argumentum ad hominem works to change the subject.
Second, you’re right. I gave you more credit than I should have when you brought her up because you’re more insane than I thought. Her cat? LMAO
No, I presume their insanity despite having given them more credit than they deserve.
Ad hominem. Whaaaa
I am assured of your insanity because you believe 9/11 style stupid conspiracies without any solid evidence whatsoever just like I’m assured of a troofer’s insanity for the exact same reason. Furthermore, your insanity is far more dangerous to me because, unlike truthers who taint liberals and libertarians, you taint MY ideology with this stupidass BS.
Ad hominem. Whaaaa. Well, I think the hypocrisy speaks for itself. =)

Hi “Holmes” (what an ironic name I might add).
Attemted murder means trying to kill a man PERIOD.
Ad hominem does NOT mean “making an insult PERIOD” rendering your stupid analogy irrelevant. In fact, the very definition of ad hominem REQUIRES the replacement of an argument with an insult.

And in yet another off topic, if anyone else happens to own an X-Box 360, on Friday I turned on my box and was greeted by the Ring of Death! Yay!
For those of you who are not aware of the vernacular, for a 360, the Ring of Death is a particular error message the machine gives you indicating a fatal hardware failure. 360 boxes are notorious for failing that the company has extended their standard 1 year warranty for the device to over two years. I think they did this to prevent a class-action lawsuit against them for the large percentage of boxes that are failing. I think the failure rate is around 10%. This is very large as 1 in 10 360’s will fail. How odd that neither Nintendo or Sony and their Playstation 3 don’t have this issue.
When I saw the blinking red ring of death I started to laugh. I had some issues with my machine before its eventual demise. I had video and audio issues. I contacted Xbox over these issues and was given several different possible solutions, which, overall didn’t work but sure did waste my time. Needless to say, every time I called Xbox back over my continual problems, I told them that there was something wrong with the machine, but they were confident it was just some quirks (glitches in the Matrix?). Now, with the final death of my machine do I feel vindicated. Xbox is now forced to take my machine at their cost and either fix or replace my box.
How’s this for off topic?

Poor Darthy. Just speaking his native language (excepting his bizarre preoccupation with masturbation, where possible, of course) and he’s still offended. Once the hormones subside the frustrations may also.
Norton used to call the Jackie Gleason character - “Ralphy Boy” even off set yet mysteriously no offense was taken by Gleason. Gleason was a successful and secure man. That could explain it.
Besides the obvious loneliness the poor Darth fellow must feel it is certain the collar on the Star Wars pajamas has become too tight. Thirty-one years after Star Wars debut that is not surprising. That’s not ad hominem there Darthy. That’s a diagnosis. Licensed but not on your Death Star / planet yet. I tried to find a photo to base the trace on that had as close to some of the poses that lenin was shown in in the posters from his era.
I spent some time looking around the net for stuff like that and this pic was pretty close.
It was either this one, or the one of Obambi looking all burned out with the cig in his mouth. Still not sure that’s not a better one to use, but it’s not the style I was originally going after for this one. Maybe that’s a good one to use with RushBaby’s “Perfumed Hole” tagline? Have to incorporate an Obambi logo parody, but it might get a grin.
It’s not as clean a design as Gilda’s, but illustration isn’t my strong suit.
I’m still trying to find a clever intoxicant-related word that can be built off ‘Change’. Changeludes just isn’t doing it for me. It’s close, but misses the mark.

Thanks. I noticed the beret on lenin in a lot of the posters and photos I found. Maybe I should fit Comrade Obambi with one? Shouldn’t be all that difficult. Hard to see the way he’s posed right now though.
I also want to re-do the text at the bottom. Make the ‘Of The’ much smaller and maybe stacked vertically between the two bookend words.
I modified the Chinese version of the hammer and sickle. I was going to make the hammer a glass dope pipe or bong, but that would be difficult to communicate with vectors and at the size it needs to be.
Appreciate the input.

If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion it might be possible that I may be of some small assistance in this matter. I am really not suppose to reveal this much as it breaks doctor/patient confidentiality, but I have after all become something of a blabber mouth since my death. Barak Obama has two distinct alternating personalities, the elitist whom I call Squire Obama, and the angry black man whom I call Hommie Obama, so maybe something that incorporates both would be in order. Heh. I was looking for something to go along with the ‘Hopeium’ aspect, as that’s what the whole piece is based upon (thanks again to alycan1 for the word ‘hopeiates’ which kicked this thing off).
‘Change Change Change’ is a good idea and is historically clever, but it looks too much like the real thing Obambi’s team is using! ;o) Bet there’s no accident in that either.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions.

techno, how about “Hopeium for the masses”?
Entelechy on May 26, 2008 at 12:23 AM
Don’t be alarmed, my dear fellow. You know that the doctor is quite impersonal.

I wish I’d known.

Thanks Doc! Juxtapose the Squire with the smoking homie obambie. Not bad. It would be a challenge but a takeoff on a Batman poster featuring a Two Face parody featuring our Comrade plays on the screen in my mind’s eye.

Of course, most here have probably already heard the old one that a Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother. (credit: Steven Wright probably)

lol… I’m sorry…but that is just a little too freeeeeky for me…although it is making me laugh…Or maybe i’m just so tired form being up so long. I think it’s time for me to go to sleep and hope I don’t dream of being on a couch.lol

Just be sure to alway do as I do and sleep with a Gun under your pillow and your Gold well hidden and you should sleep well.

techno, “Obama, hopeium for the masses” is totally in line with Lenin.
Entelechy on May 26, 2008 at 12:36 AM
That’s real close to “Hopeiate of the Masses”, which I oviously was targeting the famous ‘Religion is the opiate of the masses’ like from marx, as I know you’re well aware.
Either one works though.
techno_barbarian on May 26, 2008 at 12:36 AM
techno, how about “Hope, the masses’ dope”?
Entelechy on May 26, 2008 at 12:40 AM
Hopeiator?
Entelechy on May 26, 2008 at 12:42 AM
That would make a good bumper sticker or t-shirt, actually.
techno_barbarian on May 26, 2008 at 12:43 AM
techno, for the split, you must consider a form of Doppelgaenger in the caption.
Entelechy on May 26, 2008 at 12:44 AM
Anyone who isn’t paranoid simply isn’t paying attention.
If it looks good,
And it taste good,
And it feels good,
There has got to be something wrong some where,
So be careful.

Maybe that could be the title and the name of the character on the poster. Instead of ‘Two Face’, it could be ‘Dopelganger’. Not bad.
I hope someone at the RNC is paying attention to this thread. ;o)
