Video: Get ready for Chelsea 2016!
posted at 4:10 pm on May 23, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
Conscientious objectors from Operation Chaos — and I was one of them — insisted that we had the best interests of the country in mind by driving a stake through the political fortunes of the Clinton Family. The Fall of the House of Clinton had to take priority over stopping Barack Obama from winning the nomination, as that would finally put an end to their relentless ambition for power.
Yes, we were hopeless optimists:
I guess the first question would be where her parents plan to have Chelsea carpetbag to win a national office. New York? Mommy needs that seat for a while. Arkansas? The Clintons wore out their welcome years ago. Illinois? Maybe Rod Blagojevich could appoint Chelsea to the Senate to fill out Obama’s term if he wins in November — assuming Blagojevich can avoid indictment himself in the Rezko case. Look for something closer to home, say in Massachusetts, where the non-Kennedy seat could serve as a perfect and safe perch.
We cannot escape the Clintons, ever. They are the political undead — just when you think they’re over, they come back stronger than ever.

At least we’d have a cute candidate.

Conservative… in a John McCain sort of way…

The point of Operation Chaos is not to prevent Barry from getting the nomination. He had it wrapped up before Operation Chaos was launched.
Why do conscientious objectors always get the objective wrong?

Ed, you need to consider the possibility that the Obama campaign is a front for a cabal of democrat power players who are trying to drive the clinton mob out of the democrat party, or at least diminish their influence.
The crack journalist staff at HotAir should unleash their talents to document the power groups who are behind the Obama campaign.
The democrat nomination has demonstrated a dead even split between the two campaigns.

moxie_neanderthal on May 23, 2008 at 4:25 PM
FANTASTIC… she can run against Jeb Bush in ’16.
Always Right on May 23, 2008 at 4:27 PM
If the Clintons have a “relentless ambition for power” what makes you think losing a primary election would diminish it?
mred on May 23, 2008 at 4:28 PM
Or better yet… she can run against Mary Cheney.
Always Right on May 23, 2008 at 4:29 PM
Hey, if they want someone without political experience and good looks, they should call me up!
Nethicus on May 23, 2008 at 4:29 PM
Sorry, but that’s insane. You’d sacrifice 4-8 years of America’s future (that’s not even including the consequences of a Karl Obama presidency after he’s gone) to pursue some silly vendetta against the way overhyped Clintons that, as this election showed, are rather easily crushed even by a newcomer?

The first transgender candidate!!!
alycan1 on May 23, 2008 at 4:58 PM
Minor point: Operation Chaos wasn’t about preventing BO from winning the nomination. It was simply to make the nomination drag on, since our guy either wouldn’t be able to, or just plain wouldn’t, point out the problems with the HopenChange Candidate.
jbsaff on May 23, 2008 at 5:05 PM
Its more of a target recognition issue.

Lay off Chelsea. This is all sickening.
She’s not running in 2016. She’s only 35 then. If she runs it would be for a lower office.
I hope Duncan Hunter’s son runs, too.
indythinker on May 23, 2008 at 5:16 PM
Why not? She is almost as experienced as Obama.

Chelsea does have ties to California.

Doug Wead a historian? He ran for a local office here in the PHX area about 15 yrs ago & lost (his rap was that he was a carpetbagger–I didn’t think so).

Got the campaign slogan……
“Clinton 2016…..Now, with less experience!”
ThePrez on May 23, 2008 at 6:17 PM
Chelesa! ’16, she’s rested, she’d READY! No experience? She LIVED in the White House for 8 years! That’s more time than Barry’s had in the US Senate!

Good luck CHelsea because you will be running against a sitting president name Bobby. If you decide to run in 2020, you will be running against Bobby Vice president Sarah.

Wouldn’t the
lower(courtesy Fred Barnes) working class Dems who voted so resoundingly for her thighness in WV, KY,… be resistant to Chelsea on the grounds that she’s still unmarried and hasn’t been knocked up even once?I agree with Ed. The reason I supported Operation Chaos not because I support her thighness – I don’t – but because it would plunge the Democrats into a civil war and teach them not to muck with GOP primaries in future. Also, I didn’t support Operation Chaos with the goal of getting McCain elected – if anything, I’d like the remaining RINOs, like Gramm, Hagel, Snowe, Specter, et al to follow in the footsteps of Chafee, Voinovich, DeWine, et al.
Even if we get Obama plus a super-majority Dem Congress, it’ll be like 1994 once they try to steamroll their Socialist policies. And two potentially good things would result – the GOP would be forced to seek new leadership and wouldn’t necessarily regain the majority in 2010, but if that momentum continues, in 2012, they could retake both the White House and Congress.
infidelpride on May 23, 2008 at 10:06 PM
I do not believe Chelsea is old enough to meet the minimum for a Senator. So Rod will have to appoint someone else like himself; then Illinois could get rid of Obama and Rod at one shot.

How much lower can the Demoncrates take the office of President? The goal make the office so irrelevant that the Demoncrate can rule as a Politburo.
MSGTAS on May 24, 2008 at 10:04 AM
I say we need a constitutional amendment banning all members of these political dynasties from ever running for any office. Clinton, Kennedy, Bush, or Rockefeller. They must all be stopped. For the love of God, they must all be stopped.
thekingtut on May 24, 2008 at 10:22 AM
She would technically be old enough to run for the presidency in 2016. 35 is the minimum constitutionally. What she isn’t old enough to do today is be in the Senate. Senators have to be 30. She could get a House seat, I suppose, and Manhattan would shoo her in as long as a seat opens up.
flutejpl on May 24, 2008 at 12:12 PM
Chelsea better keep her eyes open in the back of her head. Mommy dearest might want to invoke a sympathy candidacy.

ha ha ha ha ha ha….what a silly joke….
seanrobins on May 25, 2008 at 5:20 PM
Ya, know…this train of thought has been bumping around for quite a while now. Sort of a purging and cleansing by fire, kind of thing of the Party.
You are missing two things, of course:
First, the irreversable damage that any Dem (let alone what BHO would do) to the nation in the meantime. Can we ever recover from it?
And second, you are FAR to optimistic about the “beneficial” effects upon the Republican Party of this kind of disaster. Too much of the party is too far “stuck on stupid”… Plus, it may not even be a can of WHOOPS, “I acted like a Democrat” — As Rush points out time and again, the Party elites affirmatively WANT the Party to go in the direction that it is going, they’re not just unschooled in conservatism or, just plain stupid: This is what they want.
I don’t even know how to remedy that.
seanrobins on May 25, 2008 at 5:26 PM
Half lying second-rate lawyer and half oversexed expert liar with no moral boundaries; gobs of self-absorption from both sides: the genetically perfect Democrat.
