Thousands of foreigners remain in makeshift camps after being chased from their homes by stick- and knife-wielding mobs of South Africans who accuse immigrants of taking jobs and blame them for crime. A church service was held Sunday at one of the camps.

I just took this off Drudge. Is this the harbinger of what's in store for America when gas is $10 a gallon and bread is $6 a loaf and the panic due to shortages kicks in. Where is America's leadership. Why aren't our borders secure? Why hasn't oil conservation become the rallying call? We have to get off this fixation on "gotcha" politics and Dancing with Celebrities and start saving our nation. Wake up Romans.

The RNC ads give me reasons not to vote for Obama. They don't give me any reason to vote for John McCain. I'm voting for Bob Barr. I don't think Obama will be able to actually implement policies that are that much more lib-tarded than McCain's.

Conservatism was already defeated this election... in the primary.

McCain has already told us that he is not going to secure the borders. Check the debate vids and his answers on the Sunday talk programs. He repeatedly has stated that he is going to have the GOVERNORS OF BORDER STATES CERTIFY THAT THE BORDERS ARE SECURE. He thus will abdicate his federal responsibility to protect the borders and will have a fall-guy in the persons of those governors when it is pointed out that the borders are not secure. Then, he’ll be off to Part 2 of the plan to let all stay who are here now and all who break into the country in the future. Watch it happen unless we don’t allow it. And don’t let him get away with this nonsense of a “path to citizenship.” I deal with illegals and their cases 40 hours a week. They don’t want citizenship. They want money and anonymity. They’re getting both and laughing at us.

The Huckster is terrible on immigration. At least McCain is mostly honest about his wretched open-borders advocacy.

Whatever vonspringer. Just keep telling yourself that to ease the pain. He has introduced a plan to secure the border without amnesty. Thanks to many of you the American citizens won't be getting a fence now.

"You have to secure the border and until that's done, nothing makes sense. That ought to be done. It ought to be done with American workers, with American products, and it ought to be done immediately. 18 months ought to be the outside length of time. It's an issue of national security, more than it is anything else." -- Mike Huckabee

Who has the more generous AMNESTY Plan for Illegal Aliens? Juan “Z-Visa” McCain or Barack Obama?

DfDeportation on May 23, 2008 at 8:17 PM

I would say they are close to equal. The fact that Obama is a registered democrat puts his as our direct opponent and we could fight his stance on immigration. The fact that McVain is a registered Republican (today) puts him as a Judas to the Conservatives in the Republican party and makes us look weak.

This guy is looking great to me as an alternative to this liberal madness. http://www.constitutionparty.com

Ha! You guy's by you're own stupidity helped put McCain where he is. What did you expect? McCain has spent over 20 years in both houses of Congress, making him a major part of the failed Washington establishment at a time when most voters desperately want change and youthful vigorous leadership. Just a couple years ago he tried to grant citizenship to 20 million illegal aliens. During the campaign (and only under pressure) he said he'd "gotten the message” on immigration. Now you believe he will honour what he said? Did you bump your head?

As a conservative, and a Republican since 1972 (before that I was just a kid, albeit a conservative one), I would like to say that I am not opposed to the concept of comprehensive immigration reform. It is true that I want to see the border secured, and in that regard the efforts to build the fence are ongoing. But I also want to see the millions of illegal immigrants who are already here set on a path to legal residency and/or citizenship, not deported. The electoral fate of former congressperson J.D. Hayworth in Arizona ought to indicate that the ultra hard line on immigration is not a winner for the GOP. Thus I like and applaud McCain's approach.

Also, nothing about the phrase "comprehensive immigration reform" says "amnesty" to me. McCain actually talks about reviewing cases individually based on the merits, which would send the members of MS-13 packing, just to cite one hypothetical. What you would get from an unbridled Democratic majority in Congress, however, would be something much more akin to total amnesty. Failing to acknowledge this simple fact is a classic case of allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good enough.

Thus I like and applaud McCain’s approach.

Also, nothing about the phrase “comprehensive immigration reform” says “amnesty” to me.

Just my own opinions, of course. Your mileage may vary.

If you think we have problems now, just wait until the next generation comes of age. I can tell you, working in a jr hi, the problems are going to multiply. They are given everything, free education, free breakfast, free lunch, books, musical instruments (to borrow) and they care for nothing, and care about nothing. It's nothing to them to loose books, to throw food away, to bully and harass other students. All of the above are given to them free and yet they come with iPods, cell phones and money in their pockets. I took a cell phone away with one child and it had a cover of a naked woman. The mother said she didn't want him to buy it, but he insisted. Step father used the f word and the translator about fell out of her chair. This age is so sexualized and they are 13/14. Same young man (can hardly speak English) drew a picture and said he was going to rape one of the young teachers. That's one, there are many other stories, way to many to quote. That's what's coming thanks to our spineless congress and I hate to say - President.

McCain is a filthy, lying pig whose only qualification to lead is his proven ability to sit in a tiger cage and eat leeches.

I will not vote for him.

Amazingly, these confusing policies have caused little in the way of confusion and chaos for American citizens and legally documented aliens.

I think McCain has made a calculated decision that he can win without the conservatives. Every action of his reinforces my belief. He is not going to waste any energy courting “the base”. He actually believes he can draw enough votes from the left to take the election. (and he might be right)

Ideological conservatives are what, 20-30% of the electorate? Maybe he could have done it against Hillary, but if he thinks he can peel that many liberals or moderates away from the Obamessiah he's delusional.

You people are out of your minds. You have no idea how bad things would be under a President Obama. Think Venezuela. Think Chile in the Allende years. Grow up.

Woohoo! Found one! And we're being childish because we want our borders enforced...I love it! Thanks Hope...Let's have a new cheer!

Obama sucks!
He wants to be Hugo C!
Vote McCain, or the United States will be a marxist dictatorship!
yay!

Hmm...rhythm is a bit off..I'll work on it. Hey Hope, don't you want to call us bigots? You didn't call us bigots. You do know that anyone that opposes amnesty is a bigot, don't you? Lindsey Graham says so.

Where are the rest of the Hot Air trolls?

This is an issue thread. They don't argue issues. If the arguement can't be answered 'Obama is worse, McCain's a vet, or Achmadinajad will be Obama's Secretary of State' they won't answer period. Of course, I would have thought one of them would have started screaming 'bigot' by now since McCain is being criticized on amnesty. They namecall almost as well as liberals.
