Is it really going to matter who he picks? The Republicans are going to lose seats. The only thing that McCain has going for him (in my opinion) is he supports the war on terrorism. Bush gets his funding for the war with all sorts of pork attached, so what will be the difference other than more pork? McCain will have to cave just to get the funding, or pull us out. Either way, the Democrats win. If he gets angry and speaks out about the crap congress is sending him to sign, the media will make him look like a fool as they have done with Bush. He will end up being a four year Lame Duck president.

Yesterday, the news broke that John McCain would hold a VP barbecue bash this weekend, in which his closest friends would attend.

McCain would have to be nuts to hold an event at which the major candidates for his selection of running mate would get to know who each other are. With so many ambitious people, revealing his list would only make for some vicious private, as well as public, campaigning among them. I don’t think any of the gathered individuals will end up on the ticket. He’s shoring up their support and letting them know it won’t be them.

I'm not willing to call Jindal a RINO. But I can tell you as a La. resident and a person who has voted for Jindal many times and followed his career for years, he's been VERY disappointing as Governor. We thought he was going to blow in here, shake things up, and get La. on the right track. And instead, it looks a lot like business as usual.

McCain will pick the man that will give him the most “net” votes. No other reason to choose a VP. Unlike others believe, Cheney does not and never has “run the White House”, that is pure poppy-cock, created by the left wing news. And of course, Bush haters hop on this, such is their mind.
Anyone that can garner the votes, also has a history of leadership and would be “shown” to be VP material.
Votes, that is what McCain needs, net votes.

With the exception of Dick Cheney, VPs will not matter in this election.

1 – People didn’t vote for Bush because of Cheney, the second time at least.

2 – Cheney is running the show.

The opposite will happen this time.

To clarify, this time around, the VP will not run any show like Cheney is doing alone now after the departure of Karl Rove, the idiot.
