Video: Left blows the lid off media silence on McCain with clips of media grilling McCain

Behold the most viewed video on all of YouTube today, brought to you by the same halfwit responsible for the hand-wringing “Bomb Iran” montage, the self-parodic anti-war poetry slam, and assorted attacks on America’s greatest enemy, Fox News. I quote from the video’s sidebar description:
There’s no question John McCain is getting a free ride from the mainstream press. But with the power of YouTube and the blogosphere, we can provide an accurate portrayal of the so-called Maverick. We can put the brakes on his free ride!
Having read that, you’re now properly prepared for a pastiche of McCain getting grilled or otherwise criticized by Tim Russert, Keith Olbermann, CNN, and various other mainstream media figures who are totally giving Maverick a “free ride” — except for these clips, of course. Wake me when the press’s affinity for him reaches such intensity that they’re actually describing it with the language of drug addiction.
Update: To contextualize how feeble and penny ante this thing is, imagine how much harder hitting an attack on McCain from the right would be. You could wring five minutes just from immigration and CFR.

I still think the GOP should find a substitute in case John McCain can’t make it from rehab in time for the first debate between himself and himself.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 6:06 PM
I’m apparantely not smart enough to figure out the logic behind this move.
BadgerHawk on May 19, 2008 at 6:08 PM
Obviously you’re not smart enough.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 6:09 PM
Yum, Waffles. Could easily make a BO video exactly with that kind of sound bitery.
kirkill on May 19, 2008 at 6:10 PM
Clips like this from the Soros/MoveOn nutroots will be a dime a dozen soon. I just hope we put out enough timely effective stuff of our own to neutralize them.
petefrt on May 19, 2008 at 6:11 PM
What a bunch of BS sound-byte editing…and I just love the irony of complaining of a media free-ride, while this video is made up of…media clips.
Well, the Dem’s have to get their minds off their own problems for a while I guess…
JetBoy on May 19, 2008 at 6:15 PM
Speaking of that, I just spotted this on Politico.
NTWR on May 19, 2008 at 6:15 PM
Pretty lame.
Spirit of 1776 on May 19, 2008 at 6:17 PM
Uh, Iran is training Al Qaeda.
amerpundit on May 19, 2008 at 6:18 PM
I could see doing a mash-up of quotes, but playing it off as doing the media’s job for them? The average person isn’t going to buy that the media’s in the tank for McCain. It takes credibility away from the rest of clip.
BadgerHawk on May 19, 2008 at 6:18 PM
That’s too bad. There are enough smug and arrogant people here who would love to contribute to that anti-McCain site. What a crying shame.
wise_man on May 19, 2008 at 6:19 PM
No McCain fan here, but just did his “free ride” THIS election cycle begin; Dumba$$NBC and CNN haven’t exactly been treating “The Mav” with much respect this time around the presidential nomination block…
Branch Rickey on May 19, 2008 at 6:21 PM
You expect me to defend him? Let his independent/Democrat friends defend him. He never stuck up for me.
HYTEAndy on May 19, 2008 at 6:22 PM
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
What clip? What quotes?
I was just teasing you.
I didn’t watch any clip.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 6:22 PM
I am a bonehead – left out an essential word there….
Branch Rickey on May 19, 2008 at 6:22 PM
Heh. Today’s theme: Mav the victim.
Spirit of 1776 on May 19, 2008 at 6:24 PM
I still think Republicans should put out some good youtube clips.
bnelson44 on May 19, 2008 at 6:26 PM
Seems effective to me.
JiangxiDad on May 19, 2008 at 6:28 PM
Don’t take it personally. Indy Conservative is hateful & illogical toward anyone who doesn’t hate McCain.
jgapinoy on May 19, 2008 at 6:33 PM
Wow yeah thats all they could come up with? Obama made as many gaffs and flip flops in just the last 3 days. If this is the best these guys got I feel pretty good.
PS. Is there a good source of news footage? When my temp job ends in June I may put some of my Film School knowledge to work and create a buttload of Obama videos to show his mass of confusion.
Rbastid on May 19, 2008 at 6:33 PM
Someone should put this together:
Watch Sen. Obama Say He Would Meet Unconditionally With Leaders Of Iran, North Korea, Syria And Other Nations
Watch Sen. Joe Biden Say Obama Gave “Wrong Answer” On Meeting With Iran, Falsely State He’s Backed Away From That Position
Watch Former Sen. Gary Hart Say Unconditionally Meeting At Presidential Level With Leaders Of Hostile Nations “Doesn’t Lead To Anything”
Watch Former Rep. Harold Ford Say “You Cannot Meet With Those That Lead Rogue Nations Without Some Conditions”
bnelson44 on May 19, 2008 at 6:34 PM
Well, even though I renounced the Republican Party long time ago, I do have some good YouTube clips of my own.
I had a video of me chasing a squirrel with a flip-flop in the bedroom.
Another one, of me shooting a deer in the ass in the neighbor’s backyard.
And a third one of me on the beach wearing a thong.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 6:35 PM
Please. Five minutes? The majority of commenters here at HotAir have that covered for sure…ya knuckleheads ya ;-)
JetBoy on May 19, 2008 at 6:37 PM
I don’t hate anyone who loves Liberals like John McCain. I don’t care if you vote for McCain or for a Democrat. Both are the same to me. It’s your choice. As for me, I’m sticking to my conservative principles.
The only people I hate are the Muslim terrorists.
I’ll make hamburgers out of them and feed them to other Muslims.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 6:42 PM
Yeah this video is the most viewed on YouTube and the comments are crazy hateful. To think that the Leftists have brain washed so many, both young and old, so easily to hate Republicans with such a passion seems almost cult like.
Tobias2012 on May 19, 2008 at 6:43 PM
Yep. The question is, what do we do about it? How do we change people’s minds when they don’t even hold their positions for logical reasons?
kc8ukw on May 19, 2008 at 6:47 PM
It must be the water in your city.
bnelson44 on May 19, 2008 at 6:47 PM
The Obammunists are a cult. The people are totally brainwashed and can’t point out anything he’s even done.
He uses the word “change” like it’s the second coming or something. They are so desperate to cling to anything that makes them feel cool and part of the “in crowd” that they’d follow this empty suit off a cliff.
NTWR on May 19, 2008 at 6:50 PM
that was a lame video
Corey Wayne on May 19, 2008 at 6:56 PM
So to prove to you all that John McCain is getting a free ride by the media, I will now post a montage on YouTube of the media attacking John McCain. Brilliant!
SoulGlo on May 19, 2008 at 7:04 PM
I drink from an old well I have out there in my yard.
Sometimes I forget to filter the water although I should’ve noticed the nasty smell. They told when I moved that the house was built on an old Indian cemetery.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 7:10 PM
It’s difficult to tell with you. But like I said, I’m not that smart.
BadgerHawk on May 19, 2008 at 7:14 PM
At least you didn’t deny being illogical. As in, “McCain…Democrat…both are the same.”
jgapinoy on May 19, 2008 at 7:17 PM
Oh don’t worry.
Not all people understand what I write from the first time.
It’s OK. Sometimes I don’t understand what I’m typing either especially after drinking a lot of camel urine on an empty stomach.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 7:19 PM
Sounds like they got Javier Bardem to make the “do something” voiceover at the end.
Rhinoboy on May 19, 2008 at 7:24 PM
I giggled with glee watching that, i always enjoy politicians get caught.
RMC1618 on May 19, 2008 at 7:25 PM
I didn’t deny anything and I won’t. What I typed stays the same.
Did I deny that Denis Kucinich is a Martian? I never did.
Same, McCain is a liberal.
I can’t fool myself and not believe for example that Chris Matthews is stealing Hussein O’Bamba’s underwears because he truly does.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 7:27 PM
Stay away from that well water, please!
jgapinoy on May 19, 2008 at 7:32 PM
You go, Indy Conservative. I like your vivid imagination.
cjs1943 on May 19, 2008 at 7:54 PM
I’m trying.
I dug another well a few hundred yards away, turns out it was built on a pet cemetery.
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 8:01 PM
What was that movie about a decade or so ago? “Run Away Train”. Had John Voit in it. Thats what this whole election is. A run away train. The thoughtful American voter has lost complete control.
The voting franchise has been turned over to the unthinking, emotional, self-centered masses. And thats why we’re stuck w/these 3 weak candidates.
There’s still the Grace of the Lord to fall back on, thankfully. Only thing to do at this point is to sit back and watch Him work. Ought to be fascinating. DD
Darvin Dowdy on May 19, 2008 at 8:05 PM
Yes? So?
No prize? No moola? Nothing?
I’m tired of people complementing me for free.
I lost five mirrors so far after French-kissing myself every time someone says something nice about my body, who’s gonna pay for my broken mirrors??
Indy Conservative on May 19, 2008 at 8:07 PM
I don’t know if he’s a half-wit. It’s a pretty damaging ad if it circulates widely.
freevillage on May 19, 2008 at 8:17 PM
Personally I’m past caring what they do to McLame. I’ve decided that Bob Barr is looking better and better!
Vntnrse on May 19, 2008 at 9:01 PM
if only for a protest vote, I’m voting Bob Barr..
as far as free rides, is that was BHO getting? but that would be an attack against a black man and that would be racist… so I digress..
DaveC on May 19, 2008 at 10:40 PM
Victim? Oh. I didn’t see it that way.
What I do see is democrats who hate McCain, and some unbalanced conservatives, who hate McCain even more. Odd, that these conservatives should share so much in common with these democrats.
Odd. Very Odd. Queer, in fact.
wise_man on May 19, 2008 at 10:46 PM
The nutroots aren’t a big worry. Look at the gigantic spamming youtube phenomenon that was the Ron Paul Revolution, which got him just where in the Republican primaries? Most of these people are Michael Moore type slobs who bear no resemblance to the general electorate.
Pax americana on May 20, 2008 at 12:03 AM
It’s ironic how the liberal Obama people complain about snippets and sound bites being taken out of context then they produce this type of propaganda.
Chakra Hammer on May 20, 2008 at 12:05 AM
When I pointed this out over at Think Progress, my comment was censored. Heh.
Seixon on May 20, 2008 at 3:17 AM
McCain is AWESOME! This video proves it!
Dave Rywall on May 20, 2008 at 8:25 AM
From the 50’s “Maverick” tv show starring James Garner, and dedicated to Senator John “Maverick” McCain. Enjoy.
Who is the tall, dark stranger there?
Maverick is the name.
Ridin’ the trail to who knows where,
Luck is his companion,
Gamblin’ is his game.
Smooth as the handle on a gun.
Maverick is the name.
Wild as the wind in Oregon,
Blowin’ up a canyon,
Easier to tame.
Riverboat, ring your bell,
Fare thee well, Annabel.
Luck is the lady that he loves the best.
Natchez to New Orleans
Livin on jacks and queens
Maverick is a legend of the west.
Riverboat, ring your bell,
Fare thee well, Annabel.
Luck is the lady that he loves the best.
Natchez to New Orleans
Livin on jacks and queens
Maverick is a legend of the west.
Maverick is a legend of the west.
