Instead of spending $Trillions of tax money now on something which may or may not happen (about as likely as re-invasion by Orson Welles’ Martians), lets make the Enviro-Facits a deal:

They use their money to fund “climate change” measures for 20 years, and if they get results, the US Treasury (our tax money) will reward their investment with a compounded 10% return on their investment in 2028. The only thing they have to do is get the US Congress to agree on the correct 2028 temperature target. The Enviro-Facist Temperature Controllers must achieve this temperature target within 1 degree Fahrenheit because the Enviro-Facists have said themselves that 1 degree is terribly significant. If they don’t achieve the result, no tax money: their investment is down the tubes.

This would be great entertainment: the Enviro-Facists working in Congress to turn the 2028 target thermostat down, and old people and farmers world-wide working to turn it up!!

And we’d finally get to see if the Enviro-Facists will put their own money where their mouth is!!

As I had linked in an article the other day, experts in climatology say that the best strategy is to learn to adapt and not take draconian measures because the jury is out on the whole concept of AGW and the cost-benefit relationship is inverse.

If the issue is one of reasonable stewardship and conservation, I believe that our nation and its industries/corporations set or exceed the standards of responsibility in the world… without damaging our economy.

Technology has improved our ability to explore, mine, drill,
extract and refine the wealth of resources we have in our country.

(I have seen first-hand the extraction of natural gas through wells drilled on my uncle’s farm. The whole process of exploration, drilling, and reclamation of the land after the initial dirty work is commendable. Providing access roads, clearing the land for heavy machinery, and planting after the work was completed was all borne by the gas company. The wells are unobtrusive, and the land’s value has improved. My uncle and aunt have access to free natural gas, and they have a tidy income stream for their retirement years. A win-win all around.)

We have the capability to create jobs in all of these fossil-fuel areas, as well as in alternative green fuels. We could probably export some of this wealth of resources in order to add to our economy. We would certainly be less susceptible to extortion or threats from nations that wish us ill. Energy independence is a security issue. Energy interdependence could be a boon to trade, as well.

When I read of McCain’s boondoggle ideas about cap and trade, I want to shout out against his economic ignorance. Such schemes are nothing more than a backdoor tax that will increase the cost of energy, food, and heating/cooling for the nation’s citizens.

McCain’s heart might be in the right place, but he needs to be schooled in facts by knowledgable scientists, economists, and industrialists.

When Endangered Species and Democrats become a majority, us Conservatives will be a minority…and thus entitled to all kinds of rights and priveleges!!!

I can hardly wait to set up camp in some California Liberal’s back yard!!! They won’t be able to evict me because I’ll be an Endangered Species!

Keeping enemy combatants in Gitmo (or anyone for that matter) is something McCain will not do.

McCain wants to make the intel evidence against a terrorist available to the terrorists themselves. Because transparent intel where everyone knows exaclt what we do and how we do it is the only good intel I guess.

What part of that helps national security? The keeping the borders open, treating enemy combatants like U.S. Citizens in court, or crippling U.S. Intel gathering?

Maybe you meant something else, you’re going to want to keep national security out of your discussion if you want to make McCain look palatable.

If McCain is elected, releases terrorists while making public our intel gathering abilities and issues… how is that better? How does that stop us from “being struck again”?

Iraq, with Islamic law enshrined in it’s constitution, does not equal American national security and there are probably 20,000,000 illegals in the U.S. killing more Americans every year than the number of Americans killed on 9/11.

Totally absurd.

1) Fidel Castro must be dead, and publicly buried. Raul Castro must be also dead or living in exile in Spain, while a freely-elected democratic government takes over in Cuba. Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales must also let go of the thread by which they are holding on to power. 2-5 years must pass after that just to be sure the Latin American commies have all run out of money. This way, if there is yet another Mexican revolution caused by our turning off their steam valve, we won’t be stuck with some Commie wacko down there.

2) Enough progress must be made against organized crime on the border to where there is no more need for law enforcement cooperation between the US and Mexico

3) We must be prepared to do snatch-and-grab incursions into Mexico to arrest fugitives. Because any and all extradition treaties will be null and void. Either the Mexican government must be too ineffective to stop us, or they will be out and outright hostile.

4) If Mexico becomes anarchic or tyrannical, we had better be prepared for a refugee influx—which, whoops, would be probably just as big as our illegal influx, without the ability to send them home.

The thing that gets me is these “greenies” who are trying to tell us what to do by proposing the most ridiculous crap that in the end dents us more in the wallet than actually making a dent in the environment.

McCain is against drilling at ANWAR and other initiatives that would boost domestic production and reduce dependence on foreign sources of oil. How is it that cranky old bastard can declare global warming a “national security issue” when he refuses to sensibly bolster or energy independence? They are, after all, related issues.

Also, climate change aside, I will continue to emphasize the most important issue of our day, Iraq amnesty for illegals. We all agree that McCain is right wrong on that one. We cannot let our boys [the border patrol] down who have and do give so much for this effort. We can’t let the Iraqi American people down. If we don’t vote for McCain, we will do just that.
