New lefty ad: Is McCain too old to get an erection?

posted at 5:31 pm on May 15, 2008 by Allahpundit

This comes from the same tool responsible for the last lefty ad targeting McCain’s age, which means either he’s hung up on this issue to an unusual degree or the Democrats have decided to farm out all of their crap in this vein to him and let him take the resulting abuse. It’s funny how much pull Barry has over independent actors when he wants to assert it; I wonder how this guy managed to slip through the cracks.

Exit question from the Democrats to America’s million and millions of senior-citizen voters: Can’t get it up anymore, gramps? What kind of man are you?

Reagan was Older than McCain when he was running for his 2nd term.

Chakra Hammer on May 15, 2008 at 5:34 PM

It’s cheesy, cheesy production too.

Topsecretk9 on May 15, 2008 at 5:35 PM

I’m glad to take your word for it; I’m not going to click that and contribute to its view count.

They’ll get away with it because they know the majority of seniors aren’t looking at youtube.

RushBaby on May 15, 2008 at 5:36 PM

Thanks for handing Florida to McCain this year, tool.

BadgerHawk on May 15, 2008 at 5:37 PM

It’s so smug it’s truly insulting. I urge everyone to send it around and remind people this is what the Democrat party thinks of seniors.

Lots of hoo-hoo talk in the news today, isn’t there?

lorien1973 on May 15, 2008 at 5:38 PM

This comes from the party whose last president had a serious problem with erections in all the wrong places?

EJDolbow on May 15, 2008 at 5:38 PM

Reagan was 76 was he gave the “Tear down this wall” speech at the Brandenburg Gate

Chakra Hammer on May 15, 2008 at 5:39 PM

Hey, can we get them to do a whole movie about this, kinda like Mikey Moore style? It would be a great major theatrical release for October 2008. Lots of ads during prime time shows, etc.

funky chicken on May 15, 2008 at 5:39 PM

The left never has any substance. All they can do is crack a joke and stretch it for a few minutes, which of course is what the left eats up and adores.

The more juvenile your constituency becomes, the more juvenile your platforms become.

Grafted on May 15, 2008 at 5:42 PM

Florida, a mecca for older people, is a swing-state. Older people are one of the most reliable blocs. Ronald Reagan was attacked on age and look how that turned out.

So what does the left do? Attack McCain’s age. Brilliant.

But the big difference is that HE was Ronald Reagan and John McCain is not.

Paging Bob Dole! Since Bob’s not running for office he’d be free to let his sarcastic side go and just tear this tool a new one.

Nelson Mandela was 76 years old when he was elected President of South Africa, and 81 when he left office. I’m sure all these liberals thought he was way too old.

Aren’t the Dems supposed to be the party of tolerance and understanding? Oh yeah, they are also the ones that are trying to shove universal health care down our throats (which means that older citizens are what will cost more for that to work). I guess Obama’s Surgeon General in charge of this will be Dr. Jack Kevorkian – make sure universal health care works.

Rick on May 15, 2008 at 5:48 PM

profitsbeard on May 15, 2008 at 5:52 PM

It’s funny to watch Democrats self destruct. It’s really funny.

The last time I saw a Republican win an election was Reagan, all the others keep getting forfeited by the Democrats through actions like this. If you think that the American voting public likes this sort of ad, wait until you see how much the American public enjoys watching the protest and the love-in that’s going to take place in Denver this summer.

The message here is that old people are weak and out of touch. The only thing funnier than watching the Democrats self destruct is watching old people show up at the polls and place, I don’t know, about 50 million votes for the white haired guy.

Old people or black people. Hummmmm. An old person with lots of experience and a history of serving his country and a Black (?) person, who has no record of serving his country. Instead, attended a church where hate of America what preached even to his children, married a woman who has had every advantage yet is not proud of her nation, and befriends domestic terrorists who remain unrepentant in fact, started his political career at the terrorists house. The fact he entered into a real estate deal with a man under federal indictment means nothing, I am sure. But note this fact. Obama smokes cigarettes.

The West is unique in its view that old=less. It is quite common in other cultures to view elder men and women as wise and they are turned to frequently for wisdom and guidance.
The West has much to learn from these cultures and its sad to see the type of blanket statement this song puts forth. What is their point exactly?
As far as I’m concerned McCain has far more potential to make wise decisions than Obama.

Age is certainly something the voters have a right to be concerned about but this is really, really low.

I hope the voters weight the inexperience against Johnny’s age and experience and will choose McCain.

Racism…bad
Sexism…bad
Ageism…fine and dandy.

I just hope that if McCain reacts it’s with the same aplomb and humor that Reagan used, and not the whiney, paranoid race card that Obama pulls even when it isn’t racism. The old people I know don’t read blogs and don’t do YouTube, so I tell them all about it. They always vote.

This is likely off-topic (but kinda related to the theme), but please indulge me my reminiscence. In my wild and misspent youth, I dated a college cheerleader many years my junior. At the time I owned a vintage Mustang that was older than the cheerleader. After a little while of dating, I discovered that all her cuteness didn’t make up for the fact that there was no there there – we just didn’t have much to talk about. We broke it off, and I made a new rule — never date anyone younger than your car.
