An amazing microsecond's worth of lucidity from the brain-dead RNC!!

Now if they only had a REAL ENERGY PROGRAM to propose as an alternative!!!

PS: Ethanol subsidies and silly things like wind, solar, squirrel power, and harnessing hummingbirds to generators don't count.

What folks need to do is substitue 'gas lines' for 'Obama' whenever they talk to mushy headed potential voters. It goes something like this:

Me: "Who are you voting for?"
Them: "I am thinking of voting for Obama."
Me: "So, you like gas lines?"
Them "No, why do you say that?"
Me: "Well, you just said that you are thinking of voting for gas lines."
Them: "No, I said I support Obama."
Me: "Exactly. You are in favor of gas lines."

This can go on for several moments before logic kicks in, and they realize the direct connection between Obama and gas lines, but it can be quite effective.

Obama is extremely vulnerable to reasoned criticism of his policies, as this ad demonstrates. I don't understand why the RNC does not do more of this. When challenged, Obama's illusory "hope and change" simply dissolves.

I don't like the "Not ready" part. That assumes that someday he may be ready. These people have to be met head on and removed from any consideration for president, now or in the future.

The windfall profits tax truly is one of the worst ideas ever. Best part of this ad is it tells people who might not know that this in an OLD idea, not "change" at all. They may not remember Jimmy Carter but they might be surprised that the Messiah is just recycling old, failed ides from the past. Is this what "change" really means?

Good ad, but it will take more than that.

Now McCain cares about "global warming." Will his government take the polar bear herds-by all accounts growing--off the "threated" list so we can drill for oil?

What new boondoggles will McCain introduce to prove he's a compassionate conservative (in reality a moderate Dem)?

Then don’t. And let the chips fall as they may. Who cares? After all, it’s just the presidency at stake. Who cares if Obama is the next president just because people could have voted for McCain but didn’t. 8 years of a liberal socialist democrat who will do the same to this country as Jimmy Carter can’t be that bad.

I like your snarkiness. I'm probably voting for Bob Barr at this point. Although my lack of volunteering and campaign contributions for the Republicans this election will be felt more deeply than my actual vote. Tell me again how McCain would be a better President than Obama for Reagan conservatives and libertarians?

I agree. They should show footage of gas lines stretching around the block shortly before sunrise, and/or gas stations with "NO GAS" on cardboard signs out front.

Wish they could somehow include some footage of the gas lines. In California, we could buy gas only on "odd or even" days, depending on the last digit of our car plate. It was hellish. Remember??? I just adore the comparison to Carter. It fits.

This ad gives me a reason not to vote for Obama. It still doesn’t give me a reason to vote for McCain. McCain’s “green” energy policy will be almost as bad as Obama’s.

crr6, you don’t have a clue of what you speak. If you consider Marxists humane, you’re an incredible tool, and that’s the nicest term I came up with, for civility’s sake.
What if they were democratically elected? Or does democracy end when countries elect people the US doesn't like.

...and the Contras were terrorists:
A Central Intelligence Agency documend that became public this week tells Nicaraguan rebels how to win popular support and gives advice on political assassination, blackmail and mob violence.

The 44-page booklet, titled ''Psychological Operations in Guerrilla Warfare,'' is a primer on insurgency. Most activity of this sort in Nicaragua has been paid for by the United States through the C.I.A.

The primer explains how to kidnap and kill officials, blow up public buildings and blackmail ordinary citizens.
[...]
If ''it becomes necessary'' to shoot a citizen who is ''trying to leave the town,'' guerrillas should explain that ''he was an enemy of the people'' who would have ''alerted the enemy'' so that the Sandinistas could ''carry out acts of reprisals, such as rapes, pillage, destuction, captures, etc.'' 'Neutralizing' Public Officials

The final lesson in the armed propaganda chapter, titled ''Selective Use of Violence,'' involves ''neutralizing'' selected public officials. The lesson stresses that ''it is absolutely necessary to gather together the population affected, so that they will be present and take part in the act.''

This ad gives me a reason not to vote for Obama. It still doesn't give me a reason to vote for McCain. McCain's "green" energy policy will be almost as bad as Obama's.

The second Jimmy Carter ad? Well, now, that's almost a start. Twenty more like this, and there may be some small flicker of hope.

It's hard to stay calm when we're allowing them to block domestic drilling and refining, to block nuclear, and to choke our capitalism to its knees by so arbitrarily restricting our energy to their ideologically preferred sources, however contrary to cost-effective analysis they may be.

Energy ideologues like Schumer/Kennedy/Kerry infuriate me every time I fill up my tank to go to work, every time I pay the heating bill for my family to get through the winter, and every time I pay my electric bill for light after sundown.

Yet somehow the public, lulled into enviro-lala-land, doesn't seem to see who are the villains in this play.

The left's position on energy is patently untenable. It's sustainable only when the contrasting view (ours) is ineptly advanced, (when it is advanced at all).

I agree with the basic premise of this ad, but do people remember Jimmy Carter?

If people still remember Jimmy, I hope some ad is made linking Obama to Jimmy's foreign policy. It would make me feel good about voting for McCain.

Obama is undeniably a sorry cross between Jimmy Carter and George McGovern. The RNC ad here is a good beginning; we need to follow it up with more "sound familiar" comparisons -- for example:

- Carter's "malaise" comment compared to Obama's rhetoric about how the country is mired in a state of hopelessness and despair that only "he" can fix;

- George McGovern's "Come Home America" plans to gut our military and to secure defeat in Vietnam, compared to Obama's plan to do the same things vis a vis our military preparedness and snatching defeat from victory in Iraq.

- Carter's "The American people have an inordinate fear of Communism" and kissing Leonid Brezhnev on the cheek stupidity, compared to Obama's "unconditional" willingness to chit-chat with our sworn enemies.

- Cap it all off with a clip of Obama mouthing his empty "Hope" and "Change" garbage with a background image of the Boston Globe headline that defined Carter for all time: "More Mush from the Wimp."

Anyone old enough to remember Carter in 1976 will shudder at his "Version 2.0" incarnation in Obama; and anyone old enough to remember what McGovern was proposing to do in 1972 will have the same response.

Two thumbs up. Obama is smugly trying to tie McCain in with Bush. Okay, let's play. We'll take Bush (tough on terrorists, grow the economy in the most trying times, cuts taxes), you get Carter (capitulates to terrorists, an economic malaise, and raises taxes). We win.

The Dims are in such a mess, it is disappointing that there is no strong GOP leader that could easily make mincemeat out of those fools. ::looks wistfully at his book about Ronald Reagan::

RNC Ad: Obama = Jimmy Carter...

Via Hot Air
Now if only the RNC would get it together and tell us their proactive and positive plans to win in November.

Anybody that lived through his reign of incompetence does not want a rerun. Sadly, our school system and MSM have him pegged as a great president.

MISERY INDEX anyone?
