PS: Ethanol subsidies and silly things like wind, solar, squirrel power, and harnessing hummingbirds to generators don’t count.

Me: “So, you like gas lines?”
Them “No, why do you say that?”
Me: “Well, you just said that you are thinking of voting for gas lines.”
Them: “No, I said I support Obama.”
Me: “Exactly. You are in favor of gas lines.”

This can go on for several moments before logic kicks in, and they realize the direct connection between Obama and gas lines, but it can be quite effective.

Now imagine if we were running an actual Republican!

What does that mean?

Now McCain cares about “global warming.” Will his government take the polar bear herds-by all accounts growing–off the “threated” list so we can drill for oil?

What new boondoggles will McCain introduce to prove he’s a compassionate conservative (in reality a moderate Dem)?

Who cares if Obama is the next president just because people could have voted for McCain but didn’t. 8 years of a liberal socialist democrat who will do the same to this country as Jimmy Carter can’t be that bad.

I like your snarkiness. I’m probably voting for Bob Barr at this point. Although my lack of volunteering and campaign contributions for the Republicans this election will be felt more deeply than my actual vote. Tell me again how McCain would be a better President than Obama for Reagan conservatives and libertarians?

This ad gives me a reason not to vote for Obama. It still doesn’t give me a reason to vote for McCain. McCain’s “green” energy policy will be almost as bad as Obama’s.

crr6, you don’t have a clue of what you speak. If you consider Marxists humane, you’re an incredible tool, and that’s the nicest term I came up with, for civility’s sake.

Energy ideologues like Schumer/Kennedy/Kerry infuriate me every time I fill up my tank to go to work, every time I pay the heating bill for my family to get through the winter, and every time I pay my electric bill for light after sundown.

Yet somehow the public, lulled into enviro-lala-land, doesn’t seem to see who are the villains in this play.

The left’s position on energy is patently untenable. It’s sustainable only when the contrasting view (ours) is ineptly advanced, (when it is advanced at all).

Tag Obama as the second comming of Carter.

If people still remember Jimmy, I hope some ad is made linking Obama to Jimmy’s foreign policy. It would make me feel good about voting for McCain.

- Carter’s “malaise” comment compared to Obama’s rhetoric about how the country is mired in a state of hopelessness and despair that only “he” can fix;

- George McGovern’s “Come Home America” plans to gut our military and to secure defeat in Vietnam, compared to Obama’s plan to do the same things vis a vis our military preparedness and snatching defeat from victory in Iraq.

- Carter’s “The American people have an inordinate fear of Communism” and kissing Leonid Brezhnev on the cheek stupidity, compared to Obama’s “unconditional” willingness to chit-chat with our sworn enemies.

- Cap it all off with a clip of Obama mouthing his empty “Hope” and “Change” garbage with a background image of the Boston Globe headline that defined Carter for all time: “More Mush from the Wimp.”

Anyone old enough to remember Carter in 1976 will shudder at his “Version 2.0″ incarnation in Obama; and anyone old enough to remember what McGovern was proposing to do in 1972 will have the same response.

The Dims are in such a mess, it is disappointing that there is no strong GOP leader that could easily make mincemeat out of those fools. ::looks wistfully at his book about Ronald Reagan::
