Geraghty draws the obvious comparison; never have I been prouder or more terrified. Her strength is her weakness: She will keep coming back, she won’t quit, no matter how much money and support she bleeds by staggering on. I told a friend today I think this is just a boxing match for her now in the sense that she’s resigned to losing on points but she’ll be g-ddamned before she lets him knock her out. The goal isn’t winning, it’s simply to be on her feet come June 3rd and to have proved her dominance among working-class voters sufficiently that if he does flame out in November because too many of them turn McCainocrat, she can relish a grand “I told you so.” Which, coincidentally, would lead us nicely into Terminator 2 circa 2012, in which she reprises her role — this time as the (sort of) good guy.

I watched it live, pretty creepy.. IF we HAD to have one of them, I would pick THAT over Obama.. I guess it’s the evil I already know.. :{
That said, Go McCain. >:D
Chakra Hammer on May 13, 2008 at 11:35 PM
Technically, Obama may clinch the delegate count by June, if the super-ds fall in line, but her tenacity has got to have the Obama people thinking that if anything bad happens between June and August, as far as embarassing revelations go, Hillary and her people may be just as likely or even moreso than the McCain people to have stuck in the knife, in order to make sure she has path to the White House on the Democratic side in 2012 (which will have the netroots going crazy trying to find links between the Clintons and Republican 527 organizations this fall).

Thats why I would take her over Obama(IF WE HAD TO HAVE A DEM)
Chakra Hammer on May 13, 2008 at 11:44 PM
Obama is coming apart too slowly to help her now, but by the Fall he is likely to unravel completely and she could be drafted to rescue the dumb Dems’ ass-pirations.
She’s more of a realist than the daydreaming leadership who have pinned their HOPEs on the untested tyro Barry the O’Bumbling.
She smells CHANGE by the Autumn.
Meaning: Barack’s chickens (Wright, Farakha n, Ayers, et al) will be roosting so thickly on his skinny shoulders that he’ll be clearly too flawed to be BELIEVE-ably electable.

Chakra Hammer on May 13, 2008 at 11:49 PM
Don’t listen to the media dimwits, this process isn’t over until the nominee is chosen. Sure, they can count the delegates now but the super-delegates can change their mind any time they want, including convention night, and their decision can tip the balance toward either Obama or Clinton.
Obama is unelectable, the supers are starting to see it and things have a very chance of going against him as the election draws near.
Bishop on May 13, 2008 at 11:50 PM
Obama is such a stumbler because he didn’t expect to get this far. He was just priming the pump to get a place at the 2012 table, unfortunately for him he got pegged to run hard this year and was caught with his pants down.

How does the convention work? Is it a secret vote, or more like a caucus? If the super delegates cast a secret ballot, can they not mark that ballot anyway they want, and no one knows who voted for which candidate?
If it is a open caucus, then the super delegates would have to ‘vote’ for the candidate they have been openly supporting? or not?

Rhinoboy,
I was scanning the comments while she blabbed, but thanks for the tip on the hottie. Shamefully that old dude’s head was in the way.
I think Hill will stay around hoping for a tenth-round Hail-Mary Deus Ex McCaina that will knock out Obama sometime before the convention. She only has to limp through the primaries for the next 3 weeks hoping to pick up whatever small gains she can, and then simply not concede. As long as she’s still a contender come nomination time, it is still possible for the supers to pick her instead.
JollyRoger on May 14, 2008 at 12:15 AM
Yea, a win in a Caucus.. Not the same as an election.
Chakra Hammer on May 14, 2008 at 12:16 AM
The supers vote can be accessed and their choice made public.
So now comes the good part: do the SD’s hang on to a candidate who even they know will fail or do they piss-off the black voters and go for the candidate who has a fighting chance…and lose the black vote which will doom her anyway?
Good stuff.
Bishop on May 14, 2008 at 12:16 AM
Which is another reason Obama is a very weak front runner.
He is leading now because of the cauci. Self-conscious, politically correct Dems are not going to vote against the “Black Candidate” while everybody is looking but move that vote inside a polling booth and the results are very different.
EJDolbow on May 14, 2008 at 12:17 AM

Hillary’s margin of victory in the counties that border Kentucky are her largest of the whole state.
McDowell 72-22
Mingo 88-8
Wayne 79-14
Wyoming 80-11
Logan 84-11
Lincoln 79-13
I wonder if this will translate into a larger margin of victory for Hillary than West Virginia.

Eh, the Repubs are destined to lose more seats, its the natural flow of politics. Honestly they should have lost more seats in 2004 but 911 was still there to sway opinions.
1994 was the banner year for the GOP because the dems had such a huge slate of shady characters. 2006 rolls around and the GOP gets its turn to run the gauntlet and get whipped, all because they produced their own crop of corrupt idiots.

Yes, armyaunt, isn’t it a beautiful thing to behold? The dems will find themselves in a real pickle come November: running a loser candidate or losing the black vote.
The icing is that even if Obama were to win, I suspect his snobbish manners and naive policies would easily propel Repubs into the houses in 2010 or the WH in 2012.
Carter caused twelve years of GOP White House control, Obama would do the same.
Bishop on May 14, 2008 at 12:36 AM
Indeed it is.
Obama’s message of “distractions” is getting tiresome to hear and the closer the election gets, the more people will notice his b% of a wife.

EJDolbow on May 14, 2008 at 12:43 AM
True enough about McCain, the man isn’t winning any friends on the right. I suppose he might have the same effect as the dem nominees in the next elections, at least according to his latest rhetoric.
The year 2008 won’t go down as a banner year for the United States in anything other than voter participation.
Bishop on May 14, 2008 at 12:43 AM
You go get a dictionary and look up the word “conservative”
Write the definition one
hundredthousand times every day from now until the election in November. Also in between all that writing do a little research on ACS (Abused Conservative Syndrome) and how it so resembles AWS (Abused Wife Syndrome).
Then get back to me.
MB4 on May 14, 2008 at 12:49 AM
Being a Conservative does not mean bitching 100% of the time about the hand you have been dealt. That is the liberal philosphy.
Walking the walk of a Conservative means taking what you have and making the very best out of it.
Taking a McCain nomination and turing that into a Democrat President is NOT CONSERVATIVE.
EJDolbow on May 14, 2008 at 12:54 AM
If you were suffering from both ACS and AWS could you get twice the benefits under Obama’s healthcare plan?
Bishop on May 14, 2008 at 12:56 AM
Bitching is not a Conservative value.
Being Conservative means taking the hand you are dealt and making the very best of it.
Being Conservative does not mean taking a McCain nomination and working to turn that into an Obama or Clinton Presidency.
EJDolbow on May 14, 2008 at 12:56 AM
Bit*hing is NOT a Conservative Value.
It is what liberals do.
Walking the Conservative walk means taking what you have been dealt and making the very best of it, or at least limiting the damage.
Being a Conservative does not mean taking your marbles and going home because McCain won the nomination and helping to install Obama or Clinton at the helm of this country and her military.
I cannot stand McCain and hate the idea of him being the President of this country and the head of this party. But I hate the idea of Obama being President far more.
I think it would be great for the Republican Party if Obama were POTUS because it would reconstitute the Republican party stronger than ever before.
But sadly, what is good for the Republican party is very bad for the United States and the safety of my children.

I think hillary has something so good (nasty) on barry that they are afraid of blowback releasing it early but know that it will make him definitively unelectable. They will hold it right up until a day or two before the convention starts and then release it so the super delegates have no time and no choice but to vote for hillary. Then once they have chosen her they won’t cut off their noses to spite their faces. They will fall into line and barry will fade to gray. This could get very, very fun.
