Via Ben Smith. Memo to lefties: If your hero-worship of Barack Obama is even beginning to creep out Andrew Sullivan, it’s time to ratchet things way, way down.

They had me going until the “Jesus Christ? Barack Obama” part. The rest seemed all too plausible coming from his supporters.

This “community organizer” thing is pretty Twilight Zone itself… and it’s real. Did you know Obama — a Harvard grad regarded as a rising star — was brought to Chicago by the far left Woods Foundation to be a “community organizer”? And the whole concept of being a “community organizer” is based on “Rules for Radicals” author Saul Alinsky’s master plan to subvert the political power structure from within?

Not to mention that taxes on cigarettes would probably be one of the hundreds of ways Obama would pay for socialized healthcare. Good video. Good selection. Liked it better than the 15 year old O’Reilly Vintage Meltdown video from yesterday.

Awesome.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, this type of derision is priceless in breaking down Obama’s momentum and appeal. The more ridiculous adoration the left throws at Obama the more people are going to mock him. Hannity asking his supporters to name his accomplishments was especially delicious.

—EXTENDED SCRIPT—

As Twilight Zone music fades, fade in new scene with dream sequence ripple.

A single flourecent tube dimly illuminates a crowded hospital room. 6 beds have been crammed into a room designed for 2, and all semblance of privacy is gone. A doctor stands near the doorway, while a nurse checks the monitors.

NURSE: “No change again today doctor.”

DOCTOR: “Alright. He’s past his healthcare allotment by a full week now. Time to remove him. Call the family; we need that bed cleared in a half hour for the next patient.”

NURSE: “But doctor, how will they get him home? They can’t take him home on the bus!”

DOCTOR: “Then they’ll have to hire a car. They can use all that money they are saving on health insurance and gas.”

NURSE: (Laughing) “You mean before taxes right?”

Both laugh, then grow silent.

NURSE: “Well, hopefully they can get here quickly. The interstate and the subway are both a wreck after that last attack.”

DOCTOR: “Yes. That’s not our problem though. We just have to get that bed cleared so we can put in the next patient.”

Fade to black…

Did anyone catch Dancing with the Stars last night when Jason Taylor said that if people voted for him he would, “lower the price of gas, give free healthcare to everyone and bring all the boys and girls home from Iraq.” It was strange, but oddly soothing and it gave me hope.

What? Why is everyone looking at me like that?

And the whole concept of being a “community organizer” is based on “Rules for Radicals” author Saul Alinsky’s master plan to subvert the political power structure from within?

When you say it like that it sounds kind of far out there, but you’re actually spot on. I spent the weekend reading Rules For Radicals and a partial biography of Alinksky and a short chaser on Obama’s community organizing efforts in Chicago. Once you start scratching the surface a lot of things just fall into place. The various foundations, organizations, the place he attended organizing workshops and eventually taught (Alinsky). It explains why he was likely chose Trinity, how he likely crossed paths with Rezko (slum real estate developer) why he has some of the relationships he does and his general world view. Ayers, Dohrn and Obama would probably agree on many things from their embrace of radical, confrontational methods (Alinsky) to the broader view of the country and the need for change.

One thing is for certain, Michelle Obama seems to talk in style that was favored by Alinsky by focusing on what he called “rubbing the sores” to motivate people to action.

Funny video, except for the “civil liberties part,” which were never taken away, thus they never needed to be “fully restored” by the Barackochrist. Unless of course they meant that his fanatic supporters enacted a sort of Peoples’ Militia right after his election that turned into martial law.

Hannibal Smith on May 13, 2008 at 5:42 PM

Community Organizer Communist Agitator.

Make sense now?

Hannibal Smith on May 13, 2008 at 5:41 PM

Sure. Except for the part where the guy is running for President of the United States.

BarakObama hasn’t done much at all with his life. So this is a pretty big chunk of what makes up his resume. But nobody has even thought of – oh, I don’t know – maybe asking a question or two about it?

He belongs to a church directly affilitated with the Nation of Islam, and its leaders espouse the exact same rhetoric. But, apparently he decided – after 20 years – that he didn’t like one of its preachers anymore. So that’s pretty much forgotten about now.

We are living in a dream world if we think something is going to change between now and November. The liberal media feels it has done far more than its duty in terms of pretending to be unbiased during the Democrat Primaries. From this point forward, they are going to be in 100% attack mode against any “racist” who doesn’t blindly vote based solely on the color of someone’s skin.

logis on May 13, 2008 at 7:09 PM

This may be a little off-topic, but there’s an article in CityEdition.com (link below), which is also linked by RealClearPolitics.com, which describes the sudden rise of Barack Obama to the Democrat nomination as some kind of plot by Karl Rove to derail Hillary Clinton, and that Rove was somehow persuading Republicans to manipulate Democrat caucuses in “red” states to give Obama an insurmountable lead in delegates, on the theory that Obama would be a weaker opponent than Hillary Clinton.

This might be just some leftist urban legend about the fictional “vast right wing conspiracy”, because the article repeated the fiction about the election being “stolen” from Al Gore in 2000, while it was Gore who prolonged the agony with his lawsuits, and the left-wing media who called Florida for Gore, and suppressed turnout in the GOP-leaning panhandle, based on exit polls that ignored the absentee vote, which was 10% of the electorate.

Still, I was wondering if Ed Morrissey or Allahpundit might want to look into this, and see if there’s any truth to this. Also, if Rove actually had a hand in creating this monster named Barack Obama, would he have enough dirt to bring him down by November, especially if McCain wants to run a “clean” campaign?

logis on May 13, 2008 at 4:49 PM

Only applies to communities that have been seriously disorganized by entire populations abdicating their responsibilties to the family, high crime, drugs, addle-brained social programs and (largely) Democratic mayoral leadership.

Captain Scarlet on May 13, 2008 at 8:58 PM

Google “Saul Alinsky – Community Organizer” and see what comes up. Pretty chilling stuff.

This is a quote from Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” posted on his Wikipedia entry:

“There’s another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families – more than seventy million people – whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don’t encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let’s not let it happen by default..”[

miles on May 13, 2008 at 10:53 PM

The Obama supporters sound about right. I have had run-ins with those clowns.

“It doesn’t matter. Nothing in Obama’s past matters. It’s the future and hope he brings us…that’s what matters.”

They say it with a bizarre grin like they’ve been mindwiped.

Oh wait, they have.
